disable or change tapping sound - Sony Tablet S

Has anyone figured out how to change the sound when you tap the screen? I tried downloading a different keyboard, hoping it would at least change the sound of the keys being pressed, but it didn't.

Have you tried altering the settings for the standard keyboard? Language & input, configure input method, settings, keyboard sounds (enable / disable)

in both keyboards, i've disabled the sounds. it still ticks every time i tap a key, button, or app.

Tricky... have just tried disabling the sound for this message and it worked - quiet keyboard. Seems snappier, too!
Not sure tbh - I'd recommend doing a factory reset if you haven't already, and maybe try a reboot after toggling the enable / disable sound?

If I do a reset, would I lose the apps and settings I've customized already?
Edit: Okay, I was able to change the sound of the keyboard. Now its just the selecting of apps and pressing of the back, home, menu, etc
Edit again: aaaand now I found how to disable that. Sweet.

How to remove vibration on dial pad?

Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

[Q] keypad sound coming when a key is pressed

hi all,
i had recently reset my optimus one. Everything was normal till i tried sending a message. I noticed that when i pressed a key, the click sound was coming. So I went to Sound settings and removed all the extra tone settings. I tried the message again, but it still has the sound coming. I am not using the android stock keyboard, its the LG keyboard which comes pre installed. If I use the stock keyboard, it works without any sound. But I am more adapted to LG keyboard now.
Is there any solution for that?? I have tried resetting quite many times. But same result
Thanks

[Q] Omega v.35, how to turn off sounds?

After installing the Omega v.35 on my SGSIII I'm having a trouble with sounds, seems like I can't turn off the sounds for keyboard and there is also some sound when I scroll any list (in contacts or in settings, it's always bipping!) Vibration during clicks is also annoying and also can't turn it off. Please help!
On settings screen I have turned off all sounds in system section what else should I do to get rid of that sound-mess??
Here are my screens for sound section:
I can't see the attached images, but you can disable vibration and/or sound on keyboard by going into language & input settings, choose the settings for your keyboard and uncheck the correponding boxes.

Hi
To get rid of irritating sounds, you could try moving/deleting all the User Interface sound files from \system\media\audio\ui using something like ES File Explorer. That's what I do and I get no unwanted sounds out of my device any more.
You do have to do this each time you flash a new ROM tho.

Thanks, so does that mean that it is a bug of Omega or what? On stock firmware I could easily tun on and off vibration and sounds in settings.

[Q] Cannot dial number anymore - phone button disappeared

This is my second Z2, as the previous model showed issues which I thought (hoped) were hardware related. The latest issue is that the green phone symbol below the dial pad is gone. That means I can only call via the contact list. What also looks strange is that the menu in the right lower corner has 8 lines but two of them are empty. From top to bottom it has (translated from german): hide dial pad - <empty> - <empty> - hide call protocol - clear call protocol - speed dial settings - filter call protocol - activate answering machine. Is that normal?
The phone is rooted, runs Xposed and Greenify. I'm not doing anything different from my old Z1 which ran flawlessly. I did remove a few apps I don't need in the recent past (facebook, socialife, vine, path, etc) via Titanium Backup. I've just restored all of them but the phone button is still gone. Firmware is 402.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Torsten
P.S.
The other issues I had with the old and now the new phone is that after a while music & phone calls played via earphones anymore (noise cancelling still works) and that bluetooth connection with the car is lost once a call is attempted. Both can be cured by shutting the phone off and on - rebooting is not enough.

DPI is unchanged - reinstalling the ftf sounds good - unless it doesn't wipe my current installation & data.
Thanks!

Did you use one the the xposed apps to hide the Nav keys ? This will also hide the dialer button sometimes. Does it appear in Landscape ? Disable xposed first before re-flashing a new FW

Oh my... You're the man! I was just connecting the USB cable to start flashing when I saw your comment. It's correct, I disable the nag keys via Gravity Box and going to landscape mode indeed brought back the missing button. Now I need to find another way to get rid of this keys (using pie controls instead) w/o losing the phone's most important feature
Many thanks again!

No Worries. Someone else had the same prob. It should be flagged in Gravity I think.

Instead of disabling the nav bar I set its height to 0. Problem solved.
Thanks for this information. It's really helpful. At first I thought that it was xposed that made that call button disappear and as I'm planning to slowly make my own stock based rom xposed is not an option. Now I realised that I do not have xposed anymore and the problem is still there. I would never realise that it's because I modded the framework to hide the navbar. I'll try to dig this issue and let you know how I would solve it. If I ever manage to xD
No obvious fix in either semcphone or semcphone.apk. It needs further digging.
Got closer. Phonebook.apk
bools.xml
<bool name="config_show_onscreen_dial_button">true</bool>
That's weird, like they would purposely do that. interesting.

Glad I found this thread. The call button on my Z3C disappeared too after I disabled the Navbar. Dialers on other phones with Navbar disabled work just fine.
And NO, I don't find it weird at all. Sony is shady as f**k. Another reason for me to hate those petty crooks.

Custom Development Project - Help Wanted

Hello- I'm looking for a developer(s) to help me create an android-based "single-use" device, that only runs a single app, using off the shelf phones. This will be a paid project. Requirements, in brief, are:
Device is off.
User Presses Power Button
Screen is black during bootup, no logos, no jingles
No home screen, device boots straight into fullscreen app
On App exit, device shuts down / powers off.
If you can do this, please respond and let me know.
I do not know if it works but if you build (make) a clean android without a launcher app, you can test it on your own phone.. Or editing the original launcher from google to let it show an activity (your wanted one) instead of the drawer at the beginning.. Without bootanim (or a black picture instead) you can do your third wish. App finished and shuts down is only doable with root permissions, I guess.
Nothing is impossible, this could be easy to do, but I never did something like this. For which reason you need this special device? Sounds interesting..
Good Luck
BR
Marcus
