Hi,
I tried this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332323
and suddenly my touchscreen became very jerky and unresponsive
did a normal touchscreen calibration and a reboot but nothing helps
I'm on urukdroid 1.6 RC4
Anybody any ideas?
*edit: I found on another forum a tip to do a calibration via the recovery menu and this SEEMS to help (fingers crossed)
Cheers
B
The 101 has a capacitive touchscreen, you should never need to calibrate it.

well since I've calibrated through recovery the screen is much more responsive!
the calibration through the menu didn't do anything though so I think there's a difference between the 2 methods
cheers

Hey all I upgraded to cm9 alpha 0.5 and I have to say I love it and the cm team have done a great job the only issue I have is every time I put my touchpad on charge the lock screen freezes and is unresponsive to touch the only way to fix it is to hard reboot I was wondering if any one else is having the Same problem ?
Bump up your minimum CPU speed or lower your Max ;-) should work... although I have had unresponsive screen on lock screen but mine has no rhyme or reason to it.
Also make sure your not using a SetCPU profile for screen off/charging

Thanks that seems to have done the trick +1 for the advice
I just obtained a Galaxy Tab 10.1 for a very good price, but the touchscreen registers touches without me touching it. This was even with CWM Touch Recovery installed (had to go with the regular CWM Recovery). Is this a digitizer issue?
Which ROM were you on?
Touchscreen Tune is a great app to fix screen sensibility if you haven't tried it out get.

I have only ran stock ROM, and CleanROM. I also ran that app. It has a portion where you can test the touch sensitivity, and it was registering like 5 touches with me just holding it...even with it laying on the table. The app didn't help in this case.
Plus with it doing it in CWM Touch Recovery, I don't think it's a software issue. I'm more so wondering if it's the digitizer or does anyone think the touch controller is bad?
I have never tried CWM Touch, so I would not know any experience you are having, sorry! Hope someone can help you, though.
I wonder what effect dirt/dust under the screen has on phantom touches?
I just bought a archos 101 g9 when it was on sale on woot last week and so far it is working pretty good, however I have an annoying problem with it.
If it has been sleeping for over a few minutes (regular sleep, not the deep sleep) and I wake it back up the touch screen goes crazy. The bottom left corner keeps detecting a touch event. It will cycle from multiple on/off touches a second to one on/off every few seconds. If I rotate the tablet to portrait, it will start scrolling the screen none stop to the left. So far the only fix is to do a reboot.
It does not happen every time, just occasionally when I wake it up from sleep.
Today i got a case for it, and whenever it is in the case, the touch screen goes crazy. Same touch events in that same area.
I am guessing something is wrong with the digitizer. Anyone else seen this problem before?
Have the same problem, and as I've read on xda and archosfans forums, this isn't an uncommon issue. We'll just have to wait for a firmware update, as rebooting seems to fix it, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

I have exactly the same problems.
@ARCHOS: PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS BUG !
Sensitive Touch
I have similar problems with the touchscreen. If I'm holding it with one hand by a corner, it detects touch. The rest of the time it is a little jittery and releases or double taps in games. It's still not a deal breaker, though.
I hope we don't have to swap digitizers to fix it.

I'll give that a try and see if that works. I just got a case and as soon as it is in the case it is even worse.
EDIT: I installed a calibration app on xda and it really made it worse!
What app are you using to calibrate it?
I have a similar issue sometimes.
For me the fix is simply to clean the screen.
The strange thing is, it happens even when the screen doesn't appear to be especially dirty but I put the tablet to sleep, give the screen a serious clean with a microfibre cloth and the touchscreen issues vanish.
Could be a different issue to what you guys are having but the symptoms are the same and it's an easy 'fix' to try.
Hope it helps.

Use the inbuilt one, Settings > Repair & formatting > Touch screen calibration.

Thanks, I had not noticed that area in the settings before. Recalibrating it in the cover has helped a lot.
I pretty much had this since day 1......
The current state is ; it doesn't work at all then all of a sudden It will pop back into life and then pretty much go "mental" as already described, I also found it reacts poorly to minor temperature variations, i.e going from outside to inside and general day to day travelling. Recalibrating used to "help" but now has no effect.
From watching the debug logs part of me thinks it's a bit of both, hardware and software ( just a hunch ) I noticed the driver fail to get a "ping" response from the hardware a couple of times.
I've pratically given up on it myself and plugged a keyboard and mouse in via a hub on the full size usb...... The hub has now stopped working for some reason , I'm now on a OTG Keyboard with a Virtual Mouse Driver using the numeric keypad and some adb input trickery ,
I've got another touch screen/digitizer to plug in, just not got round to putting it in yet and a little part of me is starting to enjoy finding more elaborate ways of interacting with the device...
Does anyone know who the OEM of the digitizer Unit is? My previous investigation led me to china but information seems to be thin on the ground with this one

Same problem and even managed a RMA from ARCHOS. Thing is your OC edition fixed it for me.
Hi everybody,
Recently I've been encountering a problem where my streak won't respond to any touches after I open the screen. Pressing the power button and waking the phone up again does not solve the problem. I've read about the static issue, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case here as the problem still occurs even when my streak isn't in my pocket.
Oddly enough, rebooting the phone solves the issue temporarily. The touchscreen will work perfectly until I turn the screen off again, but when I turn the screen back on, the phone doesn't seem to register any touches. The phone itself works fine as it still receives notifications even when the touchscreen is unresponsive.
Is this a hardware or a software issue?
I'm currently on DSC 2.2 and baseband 366. I'm going to try a factory reset right now to see if any will improve.
Thanks!
Edit: did a factory reset, problem is still occurring
I have the same problem, does anyone know how to fix this? thanks

Have you tried recalibrating your touch screen from the dell menu?
Its option 3, worked for me a few days ago.

Yeah I have. I'm currently assuming it's a hardware issue since I've reverted back to a stock rom along with several other custom roms but the touchscreen still remained unresponsive after waking it up. I'm hypothesizing its a bad connection somewhere, especially if the display and touch sensor wake up separately. Does anybody know anything about this and whether it can be repaired?
On the other hand, I might be completely wrong...
I noticed that some bags for DS5 produce static electricity, such as the original Dell Bag (Futon bag - ?)
The Leather Bag (with red fissure) does not produce static electricity even when having the DS5 in trousers.

I had this problem once, pried and screwed the Streak open, checked connection ribbons, and cleaned it with (a little bit) electric contact spray. This has saved my irresponsive power button as well! Success:good:
Hello,
I have a problem, sometimes the screen think I touch it but I don't touch it...
I press one area and the phone do like I have touched it a lot of quickly.
I have this problem with all ROMs tested: PAC 4.3, few 4.4, thus I think it's an hardware problem.
If I clean my screen with cloth it's okay, but sometimes the screen is very clean when the problem come.
There is a way to change screen sensitivity or other testing software or... ?
Thx
Indeed there is. You're already rooted, so problem solved.
