[Q]Rescue internal memory without using the screen? - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
this is my firts post here!.
here is my question: accidentially i broke my phone's screen and i need to rescue mi contacts data. is it possible to recover all the internal memory data using a usb cable without using the phone screen??
i'll wait for your answers!! thanks

I doubt you can transfer internal stuffs to USB, not without some app and root, most likely.
Why not use the trackball? Get creative, I'm sure it can be done...somehow.

Maybe can try this. Android Screencast
But there is some limitation if your ROM is not rooted. If you already rooted, you can use mouse/keyboard to control your phone via PC. Steps to perform this can be found in that page.

[Q] Internal storage formatting itself after reboot?

Every now and again when I reboot the phone, my Internal Storage seems to be formatted. It's really starting to become a nuisance. I am on rooted on U4_2.1.1 - anyone else experiencing this issue?
Self bump...I found that if I reboot the phone in adb (using the reboot command) it formats my internal storage almost every time. I'm trying to isolate other causes while I am at it...
Bump, I also have this issue and it is extremely frustrating!!!
This happened to me when I rooted mine yesterday too, and this is my first post yay.

Hi,
Do a full format in Windows. Connect the phone in use storage mode to a pc, right click on the drive and select format, default settings, turn off quick format.
This happens when running Gingerbreak to root your phone.
Cheers!
So I backed up everything and am now formatting it but did I do something wrong wail using gingerbreak because I saw no where this could happen, just want to know what I did wrong.

hi,
This is what I am guessing happens: In order to get root, Gingerbreak hacks into the volume daemon (the android bit that knows about inserting and removing sdcards). So you get root but it's like you pulled the plug on your computer while your hard drive was accessing data, you need to do a full format to avoid glitches. At boot android checks volumes to make sure they are not corrupt, that they are 'checked' that they are fully synced and closed out before the power was turned off. If there are any problems, either a repair is attempted or a format is done, depending on the phone/firmware. So, after using Gingerbreak to root, there are some issues with the format of the internal memory, once you start filling it up, you get errors when it runs across a bad patch of the format. So, even though it may look like the drive has been formatted and empty, you still need to do a full format from a pc to clean up the mess. I would recommend both the internal memory and any external sd-cards be formatted properly afterward.
You'd need to talk to the author(s) of Gingerbreak to get more of a breakdown on what happens.
Cheers!

Do you have it set to Mass Storage under USB Settings when you have it connected?
Do you have the proper drivers installed?
I had this problem too. But even trying full format using pc, it still wouldn't help. I even did a full wipe on my whole phone.

I recommend searching play for "foldersync" so you can keep your data backed up. I set mine syncing overnight with my computer over wifi.

Access files on phone via USB before finishing welcome tutorial

Hi guys, does anybody know whether the memory of the phone (internal and SD card) can be accessed from my computer via usb cable, straight after factory reset and before going through the welcome tutorial? I want to make a factory reset of the phone, but that will delete the preinstalled photos, music and videos, and I want to put them back before doing the welcome tutorial, so that the phone is just as a new one Is it possible?

[REQ] broken screen, retrieve photos

on my s3 I have twrp and rr rom and the phone is rooted, but adb isn't active
is there a way to retrieve files from it,i know the screen unlock code and all
1.i wonder if there's an app that asks google login and lets you unlock the phone or something like that.
2. or a tool to retrieve all data from the phone then emulate it on pc.
any help would be apreciated
Just plug it into a pc and retrieve it over usb as mass storage. You can see both internal and external storage but if you want ALL the data, including apps etc then nope, you're stuck. Just jet the screen replaced.

I want to use my phone's internal memory as mass storage

Hi, I'm not a developer, just newbie. I just want to rescue my photos in my rooted phone. I thought 2 ways:
1-Changing version to 2.2 and using recuva.
2-(I cannot do it)Deleting OS and using as mass storage and using recuva.
My screen is crashed so I cannot do first way. But I cannot delete my OS, how can I do? Please help me, maybe I rescue my photos. I rescued my files in old USB storage, maybe I can do it with your helps.
Thanks.
Not sure if the title is relative to the message, anyways, if I were you, I'd install twrp, then from there I have adb access and from there just pull the files.
You need to specify your device next time if you need more help
