Hi guys, does anybody know whether the memory of the phone (internal and SD card) can be accessed from my computer via usb cable, straight after factory reset and before going through the welcome tutorial? I want to make a factory reset of the phone, but that will delete the preinstalled photos, music and videos, and I want to put them back before doing the welcome tutorial, so that the phone is just as a new one Is it possible?

Followed directions to disable this prior to rooting. Do I enable it once rooted? I got a pop up asking me if I wanted to when I booted up my PC with the NT already plugged in.
If I plug it in after boot up (PC), I get two new drives, one called MyNOOK and the other specifying a removable disk that reflects the lack of an SD card.
I dont quite understand your question. are you trying to get your sd card to mount and be read by your PC?
this relates to the issue I am having re-rooting. In a nutshell:
1. did a erase/deregister because I was going to sell it - buyer wants it rooted - i wanted to make sure my personal data was gone.
2. That disabled my n button and no longer have browser capabilities even in Nook mode
3. No micros sd card slot on my pc, so no way that i know of to do a magic sd reset
4. All I want is to get back to factory, so I can follow root process, but without a browser, cannot download the apps in your video to reroot
Stuck. B&N store said to do erase reregister but I don't think that brings back my browser either
OK, I made a stupid mistake and before I throw my phone away, I thought I would at least check to see if someone has a recommendation first.
In CWM, I chose to format system, data, and all the other format options. It essentially wiped my device, and then when I chose to reboot recovery, it hangs at the Vibrant screen. I am now not able to boot into recovery. I assume that my choice in formatting everything removed recovery? Not a problem in and of itself because I can get my phone into download mode and use Odin to put my recovery and desired ROM except that my micro USB port is damaged to the point that my phone will not charge or connect to a PC.
In short, is there a way to install a version of recovery onto my external sd card and then have my phone boot from external SD card? Since I cannot physically plug my phone into a computer, the only way I can think of getting files onto the device is via the external SD card.
Any other suggestions are appreciated, including what to do with my new brick
You can always fix the USB port on your phone so don't toss it, unless you want to toss it my way!
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

I have a sprint s3 with 16gb internal and 16gb external and I want to completely back up both directly to my computers Hard drive. If I connect it via usb it either takes hours to copy all the folders and when it does work, I wont get everything in the storage. What is a good app to usb connect my phone and backup or copy and entire directory? WiFi is also and option, but not google drive or dropbox.. I have too much data for them anyways. Thanks
Hi, I lost my dog yesterday and have accidently deleted a few videos and lots of photos of our last months together, these were stored on the SD card in my phone. I have a Motorolo G3 running Android 6.0.1.
I have spent most of today downloading various apps to try and get my files back, DiskDigger was the only sucessful one but it was only able to recover thumbnail size pictures. I have tried Recuva which cannot see my SD Card when the phone is connected via USB with the USB file transfer option enabled. Easeus can see the phone but asks that I enable USB mass storage to recover the files, unfortunately I already have this enabled when I see the message.
Would rooting my phone help? From what I can gather I only need to root my phone if the files I want to recover were stored on the phones internal storage, I am mistaken?
Does anyone know how I can recover these files? There are a few very special photos and videos that I desperately want back.
Thanks
No ideas?
