Anyone know the largest mini/micro size you can get? I want to see if I can order something on Amazon right away....
I get confused with all the different type sizes and types. Like mini and micro are very similar and size, but they both are still made.

micro 32GB from what I understand is the largest the Prime will support.
Don't buy a mini it is a bigger card and doesn't fit.
Micro sdxc cards work as well. I'm using this right now:

Thanks. I'll just grab a 32GB SDHC from Ebay or something. I already have an SD adapter in case I need it.

Don't do that. Friend keeps buying usb drives and flash cards from eBay and they stop working few weeks later.

I thought SDXC cards were only usable in the keyboard dock and SDHC were used in the tablet itself.

Biggest I have seen was 128gb. Prime Polly won't support that though lol.

Asus licensed NTFS and exFat drivers from Tuxera so >32gb cards should have decent support (in both the dock and tablet).

So a 128gb sd card formated correctly will work in my prime:O

I have only seen micro SDXC cards at 64gb and the third post in this thread confirms that it works (probably using exFat).

These work in every Android device I've tried them in providing they are formatting to Fat32 - get my Prime today and be interested to see whether it can take mine with different formatting standards (please! no 4GB file limitation would be nice...).
FWIW I've used mine in the following devices: Galaxy S (Froyo), Galaxy S II (GB, stock), original Transformer, Motorola Razr, Galaxy Note. They've confirmed in many other devices too, which makes me think it'll work in basically all of them.

So I really want the Galaxy tab 10.1, but why pay extra for the 32gb if the 16GB has a microSD card slot internally eh?
So thats what I want to know - does the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (ebay item: 110756156438), have a micro sd card slot INTERNALLY so I can crack it open put a quality 32GB card in and seal it up again?
Highly unlikely.
I'm pretty sure there is not a card slot inside. It's just like all other android devices that specify internal and external SD. The internal SD is hardwired. I'm not sure why they call it internal SD and not flash memory or NV memory as it only adds confusion. The best thing to do is get the 16 GB and buy the OTG usb host adapter on Ebay for $7 to connect a USB hard drive (that's what I did). Not worth an extra $100 for the 32 GB version IMO.
Damn you samsung, I can live with ALL the shortcomings of the Galaxy tab, but not the exclusion of a Micro SD card slot. It's a deal breaker - not just because I can add more storage but because should it get bricked I can grab my files from the SD card!
Then wait for the Toshiba AT200.
Or the Transformer 2?

Not this thread again. About 2 months there was a big debate about this. It ended when someone opened up a tab and confirmed there is NOT a slot internally.

Doesn't this come free with the tablet to begin with? I got one inside the box, so maybe they started including it later. Never used it yet, but I think this is what they threw in with the tab: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA

I just got mine last week from Best Buy and all that was in the box was a wall charger, usb cable and earbuds. The adapter you linked to was on the shelf next to it for $20.
It would love to take this thing apart and see for real. Im sure you could mod it to accept something bigger

Thanks for that dude, those pics were very helpful! I thought because the 10.1v had one (or some say it did), maybe the 10.1 would aswell for those not afraid to crack it open.
My bad it's not a simcard slot.

That's strange, over here (in India) it was a part of package i.e. the adapter was inside the box. Both me and my friend who bought the tablet about a week apart got one.
I didnt get one. :-(

Also thinking of getting the 40pin to usb connector that ASUS makes. A couple other things i left out that are on my wish list that im not quite sure on are... protective screen and extra charging cable.
If anyone disagrees with one of these things, let me know below, i would like to here some opinions. Also if you have any hot items you will picking up to go with your TF201 let me know! Oh sorry for no links, still on my way to 8 posts... when i reach 8 ill come back through and fix them.
Is the dock's SD Card slot an SDXC? If not, there's no point in getting a 64GB SD card.

There's no such thing like a sdxc slot.
Testers haven't found any sdxc cards that didn't work in normal slots.

To utilize the full capacity you buy the firmware has to support SDXC.
Without SDXC support, you can't access beyond 32GB on a card.

SDXC cards are basically SDHC cards formatted to exFat. exFat has to be supported by your OS.
OR just format the card to Fat/Fat32/NTFS. And voilà your done.
There is no need for SDXC support. It's only the DEFAULT filesystem (exFat) which needs to be supported to get the support for files > 4GB. (Fat/Fat32 only support files up to 4GB)
Once again, there is no special requirement for SDXC cards. Only the DEFAULT filesystem may not work. There is no problem in using a 128GB Fat32 card in any device that supports SDHC.
I am using a 64GB SDXC in my TF101 dock with no problems, of course I had to reformat to NTFS and it works perfectly. ExFat was not supported by the software, NTFS was a cake walk....

You would have to really want it badly as it costs $175 on Amazon. And of course you would want someone to verify it would work before buying.

This will not work with our tablet per ASUS specs on their website. Per their specs, we have a MicroSD card slot. That card requires an SDIO slot ( Micro format ) which is a different type of device. SDIO enables Input / Output functions of devices like cameras / wifi cards / ect. It was the precursor of having USB host slots integrated onto a device.

I bought this on an impulse and haven't used it recently. I think it only has one full size usb so you probably couldn't connect the hard drive and the phone at same time, although the card reader may work while wired to phone. It creates its own network or Hotspot so more than one device can see it, it can also be connected to wifi and will pass-through that signal.
It seems that if hdd doesnt work i need to search alternative storage expansion...using hdd with an adapter is a hassle cause need to carry more stuff...i need to be able to bring it to me all the time...128gb sd card is a little expensive to me now...but maybe later will switch to it...but now i will use this 64gb flash drive dual otg i found...small capacity but easy to use..it will do for now.....

Do you already have the hard drive? I was assuming you did, if not there are wireless ones with the function of that Kingston device. Seagate has this one for example, comes in three storage sizes, is rechargeable and creates its own wifi network.
