my ace can read the sdcard, but my laptop cant read it - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

i just flashed my ace with costume ROM mush69ROM . ive found the problem with my sdcard. the sdcard cant be read by my computer, but all of data in sdcard can still work on my device. first, i thought the sdcard was broken, so i tried put the sdcard to other device, and result is my laptop can read it. the second i tried the other sdcard to my ace and i connect the ace to my laptop, and the result is the same, my computer cant read that other sdcard.
does it mean my ace sdcard port was broken ?
thanks

It may have happened because your primary partition is ext instead of fat32. If so repartition and reformat the memory card

before it, the ext are FAT32 and ext4, when i tried the sdcard to other device, its working as usual, so i thought it wanst caused by ext of the sdcard.

funny, mine is the opposite, it is detected in CM7.1 but not in recovery. I have no idea what to do next.
partitioned?
im assuming your memory card is partitioned for a2sd.
1. fat32
2. ext4
ive experienced this problem when i forgot to set both partitions as primary when i did the reformat. if it is just logical partition, one would not be detected.

two partitioning problem in sd card

i used mini partition tool and created two partitions, both are primary and fat32.
But when i restart my phone the phone,
it is displaying "damaged sd card, you may need to reformat it"
plz any one reply fast!!
wrong section
and your gonna have to format sd card

plz help.i'm a beginner
ps:

Nope. Usb mode doesn't allow for full unmounting. So formatting in usb mode will leave your memory card partially corrupted. Use card reader/cwm.

u can partition your sd card using cwm 5 ...they are many you tube guides go watch them ...and for installation of apps on sd card why dont u use "S2E" ...its free in the market and compatible ONLY with cm7 ...it saves a lot of internal storage ( move dalvik cache to sd card) cheers
Edit: you should remember that cwm will FORMAT your sd card!!! backup your data first!!!!

Reformatted internal storage, now sdcard not detected

Hey guys, so my galaxy s2 has been running on RR 3.0.5 with the latest siyah kernel. A problem I've been having is frequent media corruptions, and to solve that, I thought reformatting the internal storage would help. After doing so with cwm touch 6, it doesn't recognize my sdcard when i use my phone. What can I do to fix this?

do factory reset with internal SD wipe in the phone and not in CWM, and you should be fine.

Could be that the SD card is faulty. Have you tried the SD card with another phone? Does your PC detect it?

So I tried swapping my SD card for another 32 gb one. However, it isn't the SD card's problem. It's that my phone simply doesn't detect that there IS a SD card mounted in it.

I remember there was this setting to mount the external SD card from settings > storage, but don't remember which ROM had that.
If that doesnt work/if that option isnt there, your last option is to check with stock ROM as suggested earlier. Maybe it is a hardware fault.

In RR there's no option for mounting external SD, only "unmount shared storage". Will try going back to stock 4.0.3 as my last option.
EDIT: Went back to stock 4.0.3, reformatted usb storage and sd card and flashed back RR 3.0.5. So far so good, no problems

Are you rooted?
Are you on about the CWM or do you mean the stock recovery without root?
hi
was rooted, but all back to stock now.just tried to put jb zip on,then seen no internal sd.

You need to root the phone first mate. Then once you have got CWM then you will have access to the internal memory and the external sd card partions of your phone mate.
Hope this help
