cant wait for this guys!
"After taking a look at the Cyanogenmod 9 launcher, Trebuchet, we thought we'd let you know what was in store for the default music player on the ROM — it's going to have plenty of features on top of what's currently available in the stock music player on Android 4.0.
Developer Andrew Neal broke down the details for us, and they include customizations aplenty: You'll be able to set custom shake actions (i.e. for next song or play/pause) that can work throughout the OS or when the screen is off, custom notification area controls that can have as many or few controls as you'd like, the ability to search Android Market, set ringtones, and swipe-gestures throughout the app. Neal is also planning on adding a full theme engine for others to customize the look and feel of the app, the idea of which has us pining for the old days of WinAmp.
It's not available for download yet, but will eventually get baked into the full Cyanogenmod 9 ROM, but Neal is also planning on releasing a version of the app into the Android Marketplace at some point, so non-hackers should get a chance to improve their music experience as well." -By Dieter Bohn

Hi Devs and Android lovers,
First of all, "Thanks ALL" for your work which make this community possible.
I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 with Cyanogenmod 7.1. I love it. I liked MIUI Music player than the stock on cyanogenmod. The only problem I am facing with this is, I am not able to control the MIUI player from lockscreen. Each time, I use the lockscreen music controls, it automatically opens up the stock music player. I really really like the Cyanogenmod Lockscreen. But I dont know how I could configure the lockscreen music controls to use MIUI player.
I want to stay with the stock lockscreen. So I have not yet tried any thirdparty lockscreen apps with music widget controls. Please refer one if you are already using any.
Thanks a lot mates. Cheers for your good work
Guru
just remove the stock music apk from your system/apps move it to your SD backup folder or something in case if u want it later that will do it
Hey there.
I've been using the HTC Amaze for a few weeks and I've had an excellent experience rooting it and flashing custom ROMs. However, Sense UI irks me to no end. I'm currently using Speed Rom 4.0 by EclipzeRemix for the AOSP replacements, and the ICS theme by electronicrice.
This ROM uses the default ICS lockscreen as a replacement lockscreen, which works fine except for one thing - when I use Google Play Music the music controls don't come up. It looks like it wants to do something because the wallpaper vanishes when I listen to music as well.
So here are my questions:
1. How would I go about extracting the CM9 lockscreen and making it flashable onto a deodexed ROM like Speed Rom 4.0?
2. How can I make it possible to add the volume button music control functionality?
Until the kernel source is released for the Amaze and CM9 can be developed properly, I would like my Sense UI to have the most AOSP experience as possible. I am a bit new to ROM/Application development for Android like this, although I've made a few themes in the G1 days and programming is not a new thing for me. I've rooted Android more than I can count too, and can say I'm pretty experienced in that field.
Any answers you can give me would be great, however try not to post something like "Use Widget Locker instead," as I would like to learn how to make a flashable add-on like this.
Thanks!

I'm fairly sure Apollo Player does NOT stream music from Google Play. Also, see my comment above that reads:

Your answer totally wen't WHOOSH right over my questions and did not answer what I asked.
Thanks for the tip, though.
The bane of ICS for me and my OCD is the terrible mixture of froyo and gingerbread style sony apps with the new ICS theme. I'm sure it goes against the conventions set in google's guidelines on how to make apps for ICS and its slowly but sure driving me me me much more insane.
I would be grateful on a discussion of what can be done to remedy this dreadful plight... I have gathered a couple of ideas but I am looking for more!
1. The music player has ghastly bubbles in its corners and does not fit with ICS theme.
in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716549
Lasanda links to a thread with an APK that updates the default player to a walkman version ripped by doomlord which can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676013
also I would suggest trying out vanilla music player, it's open source and works with the new lockscreen as well as having widgets that work in other launchers. I can't get the album artwork to work on my mini though (while it works no problem on an android mediaplayer I also have) so would appreciate if anyone else has any input.
2. The home screen's capped framerate now looks laggy since the ICS ui has significantly improved graphical performance from extra use of the GPU. The color scheme and style of the bubbles is also out of phase with the new ICS theme. They shoulda just changed the bubbles for futurisitic triangles or something.
- the best I've managed so far is replacing with zeam
3. call screen : bubbles/
-no idea, if anyone has any clue what to do here if and how to replace the call screen I would be happy and give you my thanks.
Apart from lack of encryption and this poor theme, ICS is good for me. Please share any more tips to improve it further though
thanks
Hey,
I am wondering, is there any Nexus-like ROMs for our device? I am not talking about CM/CAF/AOSP based comparisons.
Every custom ROM I have tried so far have their own "customizations" or "addings". Some offer to change the DPI, some enable sound mods, many let you pick which wound you want to adjust from the top volume panel, again many let you set display things, most come with extra apps like creator team's own file manager, almost all of them let you have themes etc...
What I am asking; is there any way to make this device be what if Google would made it be as per the "user" aspect. It doesn't matter if it is based on CAF or has some closed sourse elements to make camera work. Just looking for a ROM that is as simple as a Nexus on the user experience side (no extra features or extra tabs on the settings menu) and also stable enough to be a daily driver (doesn't have to compete with stock's camera or music performance, or doesn't have to be awesomly calibrated like other custom ROMs).
Today I have tried AOSP from FXPblog but apperiently it is there to show us that Sony cares and to be a base for software developers, rather than being a daily driver. Because it did not even have camera (don't know if there is a way to add it).
So basically, is there a ROM that I will be feeling like I am using a Nexus device (of course I'll add GApps myself) instead of a custom ROM on a Z2 when using, withour caring what's or how it is running on the background?
Thanks
Nope, the closest you get would be AOSPA it is CM based and has some additions but its the most closest working Rom avaliable for Z2 as far as i know
Can anyone make PIE ROM which is look like samsung one ui or sony xperia ui with their media apps like music, gallary, and some of their best features or any different look.
Because early days some dev make that type of roms but now days no one make that type of rom and I just bored of same look of every rom
Lol??
Not many innovations had happened in custom ROMs scene for a long time in terms of UI/UX design and overall development is more or less dedicated on porting existing "features". And I doubt that's going to change, since you need people who are capable of not just developing applications, but also who have knowledge of human interaction and design to create something different/new. No one would provide these type of skills for a free of charge, since these are more creative and not just simply technical. So demand of people with said skills are insanely high in the job market. That said there is enough opportunities for them to express themselves out there for a good pay. Not to mention it's not a job for one person but a dedicated team.
So the best that you can expect is ports of said apps and ROMs. And I'm not completely sure, if these specific ROMs that you have mentioned are ported, but I'm certain that you can find quite a few of them from a different (to your mentioned) manufacturers out there. And of course, these types of ports might not be perfectly stable or functional, since, in most cases, you would need to reverse engineer parts of them to make sure they are working fully as intended, because they might not be available as an open source material. So it's not really that simple. But if all you need is a ROM with Samsung's etc. apps, I'm pretty sure you can do that yourself by changing included apps with the ones you like... Not to mention the fact that most of the time - by default - if not in apps, you spend by looking at a phone's launcher. So change that to the likes of Nova or sth. which lets you customize your experience to something more unique.
Try Project Pearl or DotOS
They have some different UI
I don't remember but may be at the time of cyanogen there is cm theme app which have samsung ui, htc ui, xperia ui and different themes which change icons, wallpapers, statusbar icons, fonts, notification, settings, dialers, message, calc app looks.
