The bane of ICS for me and my OCD is the terrible mixture of froyo and gingerbread style sony apps with the new ICS theme. I'm sure it goes against the conventions set in google's guidelines on how to make apps for ICS and its slowly but sure driving me me me much more insane.
I would be grateful on a discussion of what can be done to remedy this dreadful plight... I have gathered a couple of ideas but I am looking for more!
1. The music player has ghastly bubbles in its corners and does not fit with ICS theme.
in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716549
Lasanda links to a thread with an APK that updates the default player to a walkman version ripped by doomlord which can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676013
also I would suggest trying out vanilla music player, it's open source and works with the new lockscreen as well as having widgets that work in other launchers. I can't get the album artwork to work on my mini though (while it works no problem on an android mediaplayer I also have) so would appreciate if anyone else has any input.
2. The home screen's capped framerate now looks laggy since the ICS ui has significantly improved graphical performance from extra use of the GPU. The color scheme and style of the bubbles is also out of phase with the new ICS theme. They shoulda just changed the bubbles for futurisitic triangles or something.
- the best I've managed so far is replacing with zeam
3. call screen : bubbles/
-no idea, if anyone has any clue what to do here if and how to replace the call screen I would be happy and give you my thanks.
Apart from lack of encryption and this poor theme, ICS is good for me. Please share any more tips to improve it further though
thanks

i have come to love the Ubermusic app. I think its one of the best players for android because of its stability & the fact that it doesnt slow my W8 down but the best thing is its looks & feel. i have already seen Zune themes & MIUI themes & i was wondering if anybody would know of a Walkman theme for it.....or somebody could make 1 for all of us SE users. I think the 1 thing missing from Ubermusic is that Walkman look & feel......i would love to make 1 myself.....but i have absolutely no idea how to....just a thought
i have bravia, and fps are there any other ones for stock 2.3.3 that are stable and make the phone better?
thanks
These are stable:
xLOUD
Audio stutter fix
ICS theme
This also works on X10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20141307
what is xloud and the ics theme? what do they do?

xLOUD increases the volume of your phone but it has been proven to blow out some peoples speakers so use it at your own peril.
Audio stutter fix is exactly what it sounds like but is pretty much included with every custom rom. When 2.3.3 was first released to us, playing music (and other sound?) would cause it to stutter basically ruining it. I think it was Z who released this and saved our sanity.
ICS theme is just a theme to give your X10 the look and feel of Ice Cream Sandwich without actually having the buggy semi-working roms that are available.
And the last thing he has posted there I'm guessing just allows you to skip the lock screen by pushing a hardware button on your phone rather than sliding the unlock thing across.

Ok as its known to arc users there ICS is coming so i had a little peek at what it includes
The UI is the same generally as the S but an idea for developers maybe to add there music lockscreen, fast text on call and the task viewer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJbD...sNYR7XJ8&annotation_id=annotation_433622Video from SonyDev showing there beta so ideas from there maybe useful to any ICS creators
Good luck guys have fun!
Hey there.
I've been using the HTC Amaze for a few weeks and I've had an excellent experience rooting it and flashing custom ROMs. However, Sense UI irks me to no end. I'm currently using Speed Rom 4.0 by EclipzeRemix for the AOSP replacements, and the ICS theme by electronicrice.
This ROM uses the default ICS lockscreen as a replacement lockscreen, which works fine except for one thing - when I use Google Play Music the music controls don't come up. It looks like it wants to do something because the wallpaper vanishes when I listen to music as well.
So here are my questions:
1. How would I go about extracting the CM9 lockscreen and making it flashable onto a deodexed ROM like Speed Rom 4.0?
2. How can I make it possible to add the volume button music control functionality?
Until the kernel source is released for the Amaze and CM9 can be developed properly, I would like my Sense UI to have the most AOSP experience as possible. I am a bit new to ROM/Application development for Android like this, although I've made a few themes in the G1 days and programming is not a new thing for me. I've rooted Android more than I can count too, and can say I'm pretty experienced in that field.
Any answers you can give me would be great, however try not to post something like "Use Widget Locker instead," as I would like to learn how to make a flashable add-on like this.
Thanks!

I'm fairly sure Apollo Player does NOT stream music from Google Play. Also, see my comment above that reads:

Your answer totally wen't WHOOSH right over my questions and did not answer what I asked.
Thanks for the tip, though.
This was built on the stock Verizon wireless 4.1.2, might work for others aswell but untested
YOU MUST BE ROOTED AND HAVE A DEODEXED ROM, you have been warned.
I am not responsible for any damage to your phone, you assume all risk.
I have been a longtime MIUI user, as I enjoy their simple theming techniques....since there is a lack of development of MIUI for our phone, I set out to make the stock rom look as cool as my old phone (never been thrilled by the stock ics text icons in electric blue or any other color, we have these cool arse phones with unappealing graphics....time to change that!). After getting close to 3 days of battery with heavy use (and I mean heavy use, backups, flashing and playing games) and Bluetooth not dropping off in my car while listening to music, I thought it was time to stay stock. (please do understand this is in no way shape an attack at the awesome devs who make roms for us, ad im sure ill eventually start flashing custom roms soon)
lots of the default plain arse black background have been changed to a more appealing dark brown.
Here we go,
What we have here is a BuuF Theme, that still a work in progress.
This theme looks best with the Buuf golauncher or ADW theme and lockscreen theme, however I plan to theme the stock Moto launcher and unlocker.
so far here is whats themed:
contacts
deskclock
geniewidget
gmail
parts of homescreen
messaging
mot camera
moto email
phone
settings
systemUI
framework
apks added and themed:
gallery goolge with 4.2 camera (with working photosphere) <---this will change your device name in build.prop to work properly
miui apps added and themed:
MiFileExplorer
MiNotes
MiuiDeskclock
MiuiMusic
mods included:
1% battery
dsp manager
photosphere
I also have made the corresponding BuuF GoLauncherEX theme and a BuuF GoLocker theme I will be releasing shortly..
the clock in my screenshot is a beautiful widget witht he andromeaBuuF theme applied (I plan to make my own to match this theme in the future)
as this theme is a work in progress, things can and will constantly change...
Please do comment and ask for requests, but please do know I work full time and have a family, so be patient.
credits to: paul Davey - mattahan for the awesome artwork
Bignadad for his jellybean theme I cherry picked the 1% mod from
anybody and everybody who has ever done any work on any phone for us crackflashers to enjoy!
and whoever else I missed.
my credit is only copying and pasting icons where needed, and little reading to modify the build.prop and such
Releases: uploading to my fileserver as it was over this sites allowable file size

1. is there any chance that you make an updated buuf theme for TSF Shell (launcher)? i can fw the launcher and existing buuf theme/shell .apks if you decide to do it.
2. couldn't find any of your work for go launcher ex - went through all the themes/locks last night and there's no sign of bytegobuuf!?
thnx for yor work, there are people who really appreciate it!
