Hi All
since we have root and custom recovery
and as you know now DooMLoRD can start make custom kernel for our awesome tablets
and Task650 starting to prepare Custome Rom
i would like to Share my experience
i have flashed by mistake the kernel of Puccini and had WIFI Issue
so I'll upload the Correct kernel for Jetstream and Puccini for development
Jetstream Kernel (Boot.img)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RRW5DV4H
Puccini Kernel (Boot.img)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WNJ50NCW
I hope to all of us Fun development
Thanks
what's the difference between puccini and Jetstream?
are those the stock kernels?
yes stock kernels
Does your tab have S-off? After unlocking bootloader and rooting, I am still S-on. Does that matter for flashing kernels and roms?
yes S-OFF is a different thing. Every new htc has bootloader security, security flag(s-on) and nand lock. Jetstream dont have s-off. You can flash kernels but you cannot flash roms from different region or service provider.
so if we'll edit the at&t or rogers roms we could use those?
all these defences confuses me
I wud like to make a custom rom +Kernel for jetsteam.
Anyone wud like to test/risk their device(since i dont own it)?Pm me!
Jetstream is for AT&T
Puccini is for Bell/Rogers
Has any1 flashed roger's kernel on Usa models?
i will be posting a test kernel soon...

whats a kernel?? what.it do to the phone??? i have samsung galaxy s with t mobile im root it n my rom is bionix-V 1.2... which kernel is the best to flash??? it does matter what rom i have?? or i just can flash whatever kernel i want .... thanks a.lot guys
IMO it depends on what you like best and wether or not you intend to OC. BTW this post belongs in the vibrant general section.
I wouldn't use a kernel if you don't know what it is. It has the potential to harm your phone if you don't know what you are doing. Go through and read the threads for each kernel first imo

What is a kernel?
Click this link
Bionix V should have a voodoo kernel (stock injected) on it, and so far, that is the best one yet.
Unless you want to tweak your phone as to OC (Over Clocking) or wanting a UV (Under Volt).
AND BTW:
These kind of questions should be POSTED ON THE VIBRANT Q & A SECTION, ok?
One more thing, read up on all the threads that has [KERNEL] on the front of the title. Isn't it obvious? They differ. So knowledge is the key, read up on them. SEARCH!

hey guys i finally got my s off dev rezound and i can't figure out how to code a rom to have it flash it... do i have to name it something for it to flash??? in the bootloader? whats the best way for me to flash a custom rom on this thing?
any info would be greatly appreciated
thanks
AFAIK you need to have a custom recovery such as Amon Ra (Clockwork doesn't exist yet) flashed in order to flash new ROMs. I can't really help you since mine is S-On.
Check here Is the recovery and info you need.

Nah, just flash a custom recovery and then from there you can flash ROMS.

You didn't actually read that post at all, did you?

Most SGS2's and Note's have "bad" chips (its actually the firmware that's bad). This is only dangerous if your kernel is dangerous as well. Gingerbread kernels are usually OK, Samsung ICS kernels are usually (bad on Note, good on SGS2), custom ICS kernels: look in the kernel's thread. This is a simplification. See Entropy512's excellent post with some further details about which kernels are what.

And the app doesn't fix the bug. (as stated, again, in post 1) It just detects if the chip is of the "bad" batch, and the possibility of it affecting you or not.

I have noticed that a 3.0 kernel has been releaced for the yp-g70 and i am wondering if one for the ypg1 is in the works. I my self can not make one due to lack of knowladge, but would be willing to test it, provided it wont hardbrick my device.
if you flash a kernel that is not meant for your device, you will most probably brick it. so dont do it.
i am not planning on doing so i want to know if a 3.0 kernel is in the works. i would never flash a rom that was not meant for my device.

Hi,
I have a galaxy s2 and I wanted to ask how is ti possible to answer the following questions for my phone:
does it run a custom kernel?
does it have flashed mod?
does it have modified system files?
Thanks,
Steve
Your English stinks lol.
Do you mean "can" it.......
If not, then you are the one with the phone and have not disclosed any information about it.
