Using the stock rom rooted. 1.02.605.6
Will Kitchen work with it? I wanted to make a few custom mods.
Thanks in advanced.
I used it and had issues with Google music afterward. I'm waiting a bit to take that plunge again.

I have already used UOT to change my battery icon (I have the stock that came with the phone; I haven't changed ROM's yet). You can see that thread here.
I did the same then like I said Google music started fc'ing. So I reverted back to stock..which I hate.

Shouldn't have anything to do with Google Music. I've got it running post UOT mod.
The music player tried to access wifi
for a library but I ran it through the process and it found my library on the sd card. I have the stock rom rooted and used UOT Kitchen to make it.
It is a weird thing. Every time I access something through CWM, my ringtones get changed. But it is never the same ringtone. It is like it chooses a random ringtone to default to.
I do enjoy the battery icon. It does work and so does my stock music player.
Here is a circle battery icon with percentage that I 'cooked' for stock 1.02.605.6.
I cooked one up and haven't noticed any issues.
I also cooked up a slightly different circle icon that seems to be working perfectly fine for stock 1.02.605.6. However, when I tried cooking a different .zip to flash with a custom status bar and icons it didnt' seem to work properly.
Now I'm off to see if I can't find a way to customize those features manually (I'm sure there is). I'd really like to make my E911 notification gone for good and I'd like to make the rest of them dark red. Guess I'll see what I can find.

I am trying to disable the sound and the light mainly as it wakes me up.. I found this blog http://ykkfive.blogspot.com/2011/10/remove-battery-fully-charged.html but I don't understand how to do what he says.. does anyone have an APK or anything else I could do that would be easier.. I have a Rooted (no roms installed yet) S2.. Thanks!
If a new Rom flash is the only way I will go that route but would rather not.. Are there any roms that don't require me to loose all my settings but do disable this useless feature.
If you understand that post and have the required programs (sdk etc), go for it. To do it you will need root. If you are going that far its not much further to just flash a custom ROM.
I think all the custom ROMs suppress that annoying message. Check the change logs to be sure. Plus with all the custom ROMs you will get tethering enabled and a host of performance tweaks.
Edit:
I see you said you are already rooted. Taking the systemui.apk from a ROM that has already been tweaked may cause issues with your phone. There are many jar and apk files that are inter-related, and taking that one may bring broken links, or be reliant on links not there.
You choices are to mod it yourself manually, or flash a full ROM that already incorporates it.

Yeah sadly I don't understand it all that well and based on what you saying is if I am not 100% on it, flashing a custom rom will be easier and less BS.. Well time to research the best custom rom for SG2. Thanks for the info man!
Try them all, what's best for me may not be best for you. Sometimes you have to see the ROM running, because the screen shots don't do it justice.

i've tried some and i think the closest one to original stock is "unnamed rom". (it retains touchwiz, but remove useless at&t apps and bookmarks, and also some tweaks).

That could be said for all ROMs except CM7 and MIUI. Some of the others ditch the TW launcher, but they still have TouchWiz, and are based on stock, debloated and tweaked. It's a misnomer that TouchWiz is just the launcher and app drawer, that is only a small part of the deep integration TouchWiz has. The biggest difference between them is theming. UnNamed and Cognition are mostly stock, others like S8 and H8's are still TouchWiz, even if they don't look like stock.

I used Battery Charged Silencer (free in the market) and it worked great. Now I'm using the UnNamed ROM, so I don't need it any more.

Snagged this last night, worked like a champ... thanks man.. Also with unamed is everything working for you? GPSs ect.. and is this really a huge improvement in battery life I am trying to decide to flash that rom or not.
Just flashed this and its super fast and buttery smooth. Three bugs so far for me calendar force closes. Disabling calendar sync got rid of that. The market wont download and install any apps already tried wiping data on that but no go. Also no gmail app still working on that. So I just sideloaded TB and installed my user apps and all else is well in my universe im sure a market fix will be out in a day or two.
If you have root explorer gmail is in /data folder I believe. Just move it to /system/app and you're good to go!
Thanks had a hard time finding in so i just sideloaded the gmail.apk and its all good. Any idea how to install the android email application its not in the app drawer anywhere?
I'm liking this ROM a lot, favorite so far. Seems mostly stable for me. I haven't experimented much with Market. Things I've noticed... Browser seems a little laggy, but not too bad. No blue flashing is nice. This seems have the least Sense integration! (Only thing is during phone calls still has the Sense call screen with green android guy). But the ICS dialer is very nice. Liking it so far, recommend it in fact!
Thank you very much Newtoroot
Hmm I assume you would just need to get the .apk and add it to the /system/app directory. As long as the permissions are set correctly you should be good to go.
same issues! getting FC on calendar and can't download from market..
but otherwise i love it!
I couldn't take the bugs so i flashed back to scroslers Cleanrom ics. I hope to reload when the next update comes out.
Newt said he'd be releasing one tomorrow (well later today now technically) with fixes. Looking forward to it for sure.
Bluetooth Music Streaming
I've been using Scott's Senseless ROM for about two weeks now, and I'm actually pretty happy with it. It has a few bugs here and there, but certainly usable as a daily driver. My biggest issue is that it has issues with streaming music over Bluetooth. It will eventually connect sometimes if I continuously turn the bluetooth music streaming off and on, but it's a real pain. This seems to be the same issue in Scott's CleanROM ICS, and in Newtoroot's Ineffabilis-Deus ROM, so I assume it's an issue with the drivers in the leak. Can anyone confirm or deny the Bluetooth music streaming capability of this ROM?

asked the same question in the rom thread... i'm gonna assume that this is still an issue as it has been on all ICS roms. That's the only reason I don't have a 4.0.whateva running on my phone right now... bt streaming is a must have for me, don't know what i'd do without it...

Yea, this is just one of those hoping against all odds things. I'm pretty sure we won't get ICS + streaming bt until there's an official HTC ICS ROM. I just hope that's soon, and I can't imagine it wouldn't be soon, given the quality of the leaked ROMs. I'm checking online daily like I'm waiting on a check in the mail! LOL

Looks like Newts updated the rom guys...not sure if im gonna flash or not currently running Tachi91's De-Sensed ICS 4.0 which has the trebuchet launcher baked in im running great if any of you guys try it let me know if its worth the trouble.
I'm confused about one thing regarding this ROM. Newt says in the features list that this ROM contains and updated kernel, but it says at the end that he doesn't include a boot.img. I thought the boot.img WAS the kernel? No?

Can anyone shed light on this? I think me not understanding how this works is also causing me other problems. I tried to restore a nandroid backup from my original stock ROM, and it won't boot up. All of the ROMs I've flashed thus far have been from scrolser, which automatically reboot to fastboot (or is it HBoot?) and install the kernel. Does this same type of thing have to be done for nandroid restores? Do I need to perform the restore, then go back and flash the kernel separately?

Use the kernel on page 4 of the thread in the dev. forum...otherwise you may end up with some process.acore crashing hell.
Otherwise, it is an awesome ROM...my favorite senseless ICS one so far.
MMS in ICS
I have tried a couple different de-sensed ICS ROMs and they all have MMS issuses. Is there one out there that doesn't? I know beggers cant be choosers but I love Newts ROM I just need MMS.

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't really answer my question. If there's a boot.img in the ROM, why do I need to flash another boot.img separately? From some other reading I've done, it looks like the kernel is just part of the boot.img, is that right? I've searched for info on this, but I can't find anything that explains all of this clearly.

Long story short, I don't know how I did it, but I somehow lost the Home app in my stock ROM. I don't run the ROM often, and ran it after a 5 month hiatus (oh god the updates!) and made the awful mistake of uninstalling GO Launcher EX. You ever run Android without any launcher? It is not fun! Fortunately Play Store was in the recent apps, and I could download and install Holo Launcher. So now it works. But I'd like the original launcher as well, just to have it on hand.
/edit: Background music for flashing stock ROM... It should play whenever you flash the stock ROM. (Don't wanna click? It's Darth Vader's "Imperial March" theme from Star Wars.)
//edit again: Thanks, it worked. The music was fitting. I can't believe my wife puts up with this lag. It's like going from a sports car to a fixer-upper. But I found what I was looking for.

Yes sir I have. I'll see if I have it somewhere. Do you need odex or deodexed? Also, which build?
Thanks Loki. And I don't know what I need. I used to vaguely know odex from deodex when I was using Samsung, but now the terms are foreign to me. If I used a file manager, I would have removed the odex file with it, I'm sure. If I used Titanium, I'm not sure if Titanium would have also removed the odex file.
It's kinda coming back to me... We had to deodex the system (on Samsung) before we could theme it. If that's just general Android... I'm sure I didn't deodex my system. Definitely didn't theme it. Sorry for the confusion. I assumed they were all the same file.
Build? 2.3.5. Shouldn't matter if it's from Photon or Electrify, I don't think. Only difference should be the default wallpaper. I'd actually prefer Photon's, but I can add the Photon wallpaper to the Electrify app.
Think this is 2.3.5 deodex
(I'm trying to find odex. Didn't realize my mopho archive is as big as it is)
EDIT:
So that wasn't it. But I did find Blurhome 2.3.4 from 198_7DeODEXed. I have stuff going as far back as Yay's preroot 198_7 (think I even saw Alien and Home Base) so try those two and let me know if they work.
Thanks Loki. I will try the second one.
Looks like I'm going back to stock (to try it), haha! So I just have to Nandroid my ICS ROM, then I can restore the stock ROM.
My own MoPho archive might be about 1GB. I dunno. I think I have current versions of all the ROMs. I don't generally keep old versions. And I'm not really involved with the scene (as in I haven't developed anything).
I'll edit and let you know if the second one works.
/edit: Weird. Not sure why my post reverted. I had two edits. Anyway, it worked -- thanks again!
I broke my wifi tether. I am rooted STOCK via Adams Suck it Verizon program, I installed the record call mods and the ultra cool light saber sounds for my s pen. I added Wifi toggle button and the shutter sound option and black background thru csc menu. Tether was working used it to stream netflix on the PSC for about 4 episodes of Twilight Zone. ALL good so far. After I added the new custom Perseus kernal it stopped working.
No brainer right? must be a problem in the kernel that isnt addressed yet. Still got to love the great work from our Devs and not the end of the world. I created a stock Kernel from Adams Revision3 rom that I had already downloaded and put it in thru recovery.
Still no WIFI tether. Now I'm stuck my "no brainer" just became "oh eff." Anyone have ideas on what else may need to be done? Or what I might have done unintentionally. I can reboot to stock and start tweaking all over but I really didnt want to and please dont comment on the fact that I'm too much of an idiot to have made a back up before I lost the tether.:crying::crying:
I'm still interested in any ideas but I wont be able to implement the fixes anyway to try. Gave up and Reinstalled the rooted stock rom complete already.

Hey all,
I'm having some issues with the Eclipse ROM (Build 5 - Android 4.3), but since I don't have 10 posts yet, I cannot post under the respective thread.
Bugs/Issues/Suggestions:
As some have noted, the video camera does not work. (Not a big deal because I don't use it anyway)
Amazon App Store does not stay signed in. I have tried clearing the data, and completely reinstalling the App Store with no avail.
SMS Popup's customized LED notifications do not work properly. (I have certain LED colors for certain contacts, which is apparently broken in Android 4.3)
Android OS along with Google Services are both draining the battery, even after rebooting the phone.
Bring the 'Advanced' menu back! It was very helpful to be able to tweak the vibration strength (which is very weak by the way), along with audio volumes, mDNIe modes, and being able to disable the backlit touch keys.
Besides the few things noted above the ROM seems rock solid. I have used the Eclipse ROM for a few months now and enjoy it. Thanks for the great work!

Im using a custom build of AOKP 4.3, so I cant relate to a lot, but for the advanced menu, I use devil kernel w/ devil tweaks that has the amplifier and vibration settings. works great. I use the mms from the old baked rom, which is fully themeable, from 4.2. Im not having any problems with battery life.

So for the devil kernel, is that the one found here? If so, is there anyway to get JUST the kernel? Or do I have to get the recovery and dual boot as well?
Disregard the last post, as I have reverted back to Build 3. (Android 4.2) However, I do have a question in regards to the messaging app that you're using. How exactly did you load that from another ROM?
For example, if possible, I'd like to take the SMS/MMS app found in the Build 5 of the Eclipse ROM and port it over to the one I currently have. Would that even work since it is an Android 4.3 app instead of a 4.2? I just want it because it has a couple more options (more developed) than the one I currently have. And if I can do that, how would I go about doing that?
Thanks again for the help, and sorry if that is a noob question.
Extract it from the ROM and replace it in your system/app. I imagine it would work, but not sure

Okay thanks. Is there a particular way of replacing it? i.e., zip and flash? Or can I replace it with root explorer?
I use es file manager, but root explorer would work. Make sure you change permissions to match the rest of the system apks and then reboot

Okay thanks again, and how do I change the permissions? I'm thinking thats what may have caused the issues before when I tried to port it over to my ROM. Every time I opened it, it would force close on me.
Edit: I have found threads on here on how to perform this task. (With Clockwork Mod Recovery) But thanks again, I am flashing the new MMS.apk now.
