Is anyone using that or have tried for their NC? I'm wonder what the bluetooth range would be and if it would be able to connect to an OBD2 bluetooth reciever that would be maybe 3 ft away. It would be great to get a 7in NC mounted in the car and be able to see real time info in your car.
I'm not sure how well it would work over Bluetooth. Do you already have the Bluetooth module? If you do them you should really check out alaprecorder. Its pretty wicked and you can use your phone plus odbII.

With so small range I really doubt how useful this can be.

I haven't gotten the module yet and I don't have an android phone either so this would be my only option. too bad BT doesn't have more range...
I'm currently using it in a Jeep Wrangler install with a bluetooth OBDII reader, and it works great. The Nook and reader are around 3 feet apart, but I've been up to about 5 feet away and not lost the connection.

+1 I'm using it with an OBDII reader and works great on my Nook and Phone.
I have a nook color and I currently use it as my primary in-dash Navigation using external GPS receiver and bluetooth gps provider.
I recently got a nook tablet, Since there is no CM build for this one, Wondering is there is any way to get the bluetooth working?

Not right now, no. There are the files but the issue is that we don't have a way to activate it *I think we might need atleast a kernel module.
External GPS?

I have a "spare" Nook Color, and would like to do what you do. Questions:
What "external GPS receiver and bluetooth gps provider" do you use?
I assume you are using a CM7 build to enable GPS, correct?
Do you know of a bluetooth solution that runs on the B&N v1.3 software?
What navigation program are you using? I have a friend running Co-Pilot (on an Acer A500), but despite his claim that it almost never crashes, every time I'm in his car and he lets me fiddle with it, it crashes.

@DeanGibson
I currently use Qstarz BT-Q818 66-Channel Bluetooth GPS Receiver (Look it up on Amazon, Its little pricey and overkill for navigation. But very very very accurate, fast and weeks worth of battery)
Yes I am using CM 7 Stable version
Bluetooth on B&N software: No . There is no way to detect hardware under stock settings. I don't think they have drivers installed in stock version.
I am using Co-pilot. I also tested route 66. Both are reasonably stable. I never had crashes. But sometimes bluetooth goes into sleep and won't return. All I need to do is toggle off and on bluetooth.
More questions ...

What have you found to be the max reliable bluetooth range for the Nook in this configuration?
Also, I can't tell from the pictures how it mounts. Does it have a visor clip?

I tested only upto 1.5 meter so far with no issues. I didn't get chance to test to fail for bluetooth range.
I have a small compartment on top of dash board. I just left it in there. No visor clip or adhesive strips(it doesn't come with any). Based on my testing, it works fine without direct view to sky, then i guess it may use up more juice.
Be sure to use BN 2 amp car charger/compatible for quick charging in car. Other car chargers also work.. But your drain rate is more than charge rate when display is on.

I would say on most of my mobiles with BT, I can use my BT headset within 10meter of direct sight. Some of them is better when there are walls between but varies a little.
I don't know about visor clips sorry.
Nook color Bluetooth range is way less than normal mobile
Ccl13, the nook color was not intended to use Bluetooth so the hardware is not optimized for it... The best I managed was just over 2 ft.
On my phone or my iPad I get at least 10ft usually more depending on line of sight and what is in the way. (at one point I was listening to a podcast from 40ft before my headset lost connection.
I've had really good range using a Bluetooth keyboard (I use the Zippy BT-500). I tested it to about 25 feet indoors. Running CM7 now but before that Phiremod with same BT range.
VERY interested in Bluetooth Keyboard for Nook Tablet
I own an 8GB nook tablet. I'm greatly enjoy using it as a reader-but having a real keyboard would make the whole package much, much nicer.
I hope this is available fairly soon-I would appreciate any leads folks have.

Does anybody know if the prime works with an extended bleutooth mouse ??
My GPS on the prime doesnt work very good but thats of not important to me because I want it to use it indoors incased in steel on a sea going vessel so I can keep an eye what my CO does on the bridge . The BT mouse I can lay in a window that will work because I tested that with my GPS enable smartie.
But before I buy a BT mouse I want to be sure it works.

I don't use Bluetooth that much I’ve really never used it for anything except for trying my PS3 controller. I can use it wired though or use a wireless controller. I was just asking because I finally got a Prime that will run 18mb/s down in same large room as my router, consistent. So what can I do with Bluetooth that I can’t do wireless. Not a real big gamer I got a 360 and PS3 that mainly just sit there over 30 games for each. I do like racing games though. The only problem is that my Prime is mismatched which I don't really mind most of the time it isn’t docked anyways. I got it in an Acase.
My mismatched prime I like it really though, that's what matters. After 6 Prime duds, I love this thing!!!

Bluetooth is mainly used for connecting device to devices, which is something you may or may not be able to do over WiFi depending on what devices you are using and what kind of router you use.
I personally mainly use Bluetooth on my Prime to connect it to a couple fo different sets of wireless headphones while listening to music or watching Netflix. I have also used it to transfer files back and forth between my phone and tablet when I was away from WiFi. I have also used it to set up internet tethering between my phone and tablet (before I found FoxFi).
Sometimes I use bluetooth in my car to connect my tablet to my car stereo so that I can stream music from my tablet to my car, but usually I do this with my phone since my phone can use Pandora or TuneIn with its constant data connection.
I use BT mainly for either tethering internet connection, connecting to my Atrix and transferring files, photos, and movies, connecting to Atrix to use it as a BT controller.
24 hours bluetooth for tablet talk
Don't forget that you can also use bluetooth to connect to an external GPS device.

yeah, I do that also. forgot to add that in there. works great!
I used to use it for BT speaker when streaming netflix or pandora but when I'm connected to my home router my wifi degrades by a lot so it became useless. I noticed the same when I use ps3 controller and I'm playing online. But those 2 were the only reason I used it.
I use B/T to connect to Jawbone Jambox to listen to music when outside or I used it today to watch a movie w/o earbuds. Cool speaker & works well.

very nice BT drivers on the prime imho. Its been horrible on my phone^^ Had to use a few workarounds and install a custum rom to get it working with all my devices...
On the prime though, everything just works and connects instantly.
I use it for my ps3 sixaxis controller. Mostly gta3 and zen pinball. Everything works great. BTW if you want to try it, just plug the controller in with a usb cable then goto bluetooth and pair it then unplug the cable and done.

Does anybody know how to pair TF to phone and to use TF as handset to answer calls and maybe to dial via phone?
I use my logitech bluetooth mouse and keyboard with my tablet. I know I know, why not buy the dock but I had bought this combo way back in the day so it works.
I use the Wii mote with a classic controller for N64oid.
And the wii mote for gameboid.
Works great for me.

bluetooth audio and 3.5mm out
slightly OT question
I don't have a prime yet but would like to get one. Have one question about the bluetooth. Can one use the bluetooth headset and the 3.5mm audio out at the same time?
thanks,
I use the bluetooth to connect it to an apple keyboard when my dock runs out of battery.

How did you get it to work with the apple wireless keyboard, because I can get it connected but it doesn't do anything.

How exactly do you transfer files? I did this once before a while ago and remember it worked perfectly, but I simply can't figure it out now. I have the devices paired, now what?
I use my Bluetooth for file transfers from my come PC to the TF and same from my phone to the TF, also I use it for tethering for Tablet Talk

I recently sold my ipad1 since i wanted to get out of the apple ecosystem. For the last week I been researching which android tablet to get. At first I looked at the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which I liked spec-wise but when I went to BestBuy to take a look at it, I noticed it was laggy and stuttered just flipping between homescreens (which im not sure if all galaxys experience this or it was just the display screen not performing well) so i started looking for something more meaty performance-wise and led me to find the prime. However, theres been 2 things holding me off from buying it:1st is i just cant find it anywhere, and 2nd is when i found out of its wifi/bt problems. Im not planning on using any bt, so could I expect wifi to work flawlessly not using bt? (wifi is important for me).
The thing is that I need a tablet to read...i shouldnt have sold my ipad without having bought the android one...
some earlier units had the wifi/BT problem. seems to be an issue streaming audio to BT headset while streaming wifi connection to tablet. like on internet or watching a movie. some reported drop in speed. a major contributing factor is because the wifi & BT on same chip/component. its something with the BT audio interfering. we also have alot who report they can do both just fine w/o noticeable drop in speed. if you don't even plan to use BT in that way then you should be fine. even if you did, you should still be fine.
I've had my Prime since 12/22 and wireless performance has been great for me. never drops a signal and consistently gets the fastest download/upload speeds. just search for an online retailer carrying the prime like best buy or something. they are out there but always sell out so quickly. This is the best and most powerful tablet Android has at the moment. its well worth getting. Very sexy looking tablet also
just check out the link in my signature, Positive Transformer thread, to put some balance to things. there's always a flip side and not as bad as it may seem at times.
Well,
To be honest, I like my prime a bunch but if I'm on wifi, I cant connect my PS3 sixaxis through bluetooth. I have to kill wifi then connect the controller. I havent tried reconnecting the wifi but I know I cant use bluetooth if wifi is already active just from that.

I don't have this problem myself and use my sixaxis a lot. If you aren't using bluetooth anyways then no worries there. My wifi is just as powerful as my Samsung phone.
