My Transformer Prime is on build version 8.8.3.27 and says that there is no new update. I thought 8.8.3.29 was the latest version. Is that not the case?
yes, .29 is the latest. if prime not giving you most recent update, u can manually install it from Asus site. maybe they took it down for certain reasons, as far as OTA update goes. first day I got mines on 12/22 I updated to this latest firmware ver. just keep checking or manually install it.
plus there's a very good chance we should be getting another update anyday now. whether ICS or an update to fix GPS issues or whatever.

What is the purpose of today's firmware update? Does anybody knows. It takes a while for the update process. I just dont see anything different. Thanks for reading.
I am very interested in a large OTA update for reasons found here..

Maybe its a Kernal push update with other bugs. I can't hardly wait for the custom build for this release to come out.
If you don't mind me asking, what's the build number after the update?

today's update build was 9.4.2.21
I'm guessing this update isn't the hyped updated we've heard about, because in .21 face unlock is nowhere to be found
That update is set to roll out officially tomorrow anyways, so no harm done
battery stats in settings among other things, theres a thread in general on it
I've rooted and unlocked my Prime. With Virtous ROM.
So the question is, can i update to .21? If can, how?
Will it brick my prime?
I'm new here but i like to get updated with the latest updates.
Nope I don't think so, unlocked=no updates.
21 upgrade
The latest virtuous is .21 , the developers of these roms will usually update them. Do not
update from asus , as you will brick it. Just install their latest virtuous rom zip.
Okey, I'm not aware if this has been mentioned before, but as soon as I installed the unlocked JB WW rom I get an asus firmware update for my dock and it wants to update my system?
Is this save or not save to do? (since I'm aware asus updates can **** up ur prime when your bl is unlocked..) but am not sure about this one..
with regards, Hawkysoft
nvm, did it and all still works properly
I'm curious as to why I DIDN'T get notified to update. What version is the dock supposed to be at? I am currently showing TF201-DOCK-0207
Is that the latest, or does anyone know if there is a manual update to get the latest?
Hi, my brother in-law purchased open box/new TF201 with 3.0 version. He wants to update to the latest version. He called Asus support. They want him to pay $99 for the warranty first before they can provide any help. I've spent some time searching this forum and found manual updates to JB. However I'm not sure if he can jump from version 3 to JB. What he needs is just stock updates and fixes. I'm not an expert in android world. If someone could direct me where can I find needed updates and what should I do first, second, etc. I would really appreciate. Thank you in advance.
First, He cans update to ICS (4.0) directly by OTA.
For JB (4.1), it depends on his prime. Some of them receive the update via OTA ... Some other wait and wait the official update ... But they will not have it ... Like me ! ^^
So I've done the update manually (with some mistakes that I correct after, thanks to XDA members), and I install a custom ROM (androwook), based on the latest JB update for our Prime !
>>I'm just curious if anybody else has received notification of a new update from AT&T recently, and if so, what was it?
I've had my E970 for about a month now. When I first received the LGOG, I did receive a FOTA notification and did the update. Then
I rooted, unlocked BL and installed TheBase.
Last night, I received another notification regarding an OTA software update being ready to install. Since I was actually ok with the stock LG ROM, I made a backup and then went ahead and let the update install.
Most of you won't be surprised to hear that the device rebooted into recovery, I received an error message, and the update failed.
Luckily, I didn't brick anything. I like all the information we get before allowing an app to install, and I can't believe there is no info given about what an update to our OS might contain. A version number [4.0.4 or 4.1.2?] and a short description saying bugfix / security fix / new features would go a long way here.
Personally, I kinda like the LG touches to Android and am looking forward to the official JB update.
I plan on sticking with stock-based ROMS on this device until it's no longer supported and then going back to CM.
I'm running Android 4.0.4
Baseband: APQ8064 / MDM9x15M
Kernel: 3.0.21
The Base 0.6.5
E97010l
I just checked for an update and...
now it says it is up to date?
I wish I had more information, and I DID search the forums and elsewhere to try and answer this myself first.
Now I'm thinking that AT&T is just trying to update me to their latest software and away from a custom ROM.
Incidentally, the OG is the first Android that I've actually done a FOTA on. I received the Atrix 4G and the X10a long after their release, and went immediately to custom ROMs.
It's just updates to E97010c. Nothing worth updating for.
