So I was wondering would we on the nook tablet be getting honeycomb or is anyone working on it? I know the the color has honeycomb thanks to DeeperBlue. I know spec wise the tablet is better so I was just wondering how we could get it as well because honeycomb or ICS would make this a top noch tablet

we probably will get ICS as soon as the devs found a way to get past the locked bootloader and make a recovery
I've been searching and seems the NT hardware can run HC and ICS, may be if we make a port from Kindle fires CM, both tablets have the prossessor and very similar hardware, or may be I'm just saying stupid thing, hope im not.

I have been playing with the new honeycomb build that Divine_Madcat posted and love it! (Great work to all of those guys!), however, that means the wife got to see Google Body working on that build and wants it on her nook.
I don't think she is ready to use honeycomb yet, and is currently on CM7, has anyone been able to get Google Body working on CM7? I saw someone at work that could get it to open, but not drill in, but he doesn't remember how, and I can get it to install changing the sdk, but it just FCs when I launch it.
Thanks in advance!
Please, someone respond, someone HELP! need to get this thing on my G2.
and a very BIG THANX in advance
Last time I checked, someone correct me if I'm wrong, the honeycomb build we have access to doesn't have graphics acceleration. Just stick to gingerbread for now and wait.

Yep, it is working great on the Nook running Honeycomb (the wife's runs CM7).
I believe it requires Honeycomb as there may be API's or something its calling that GB doesnt have.
It likely requires fragments, which are new to the Honeycomb framework.
Just got my update just now...my prime is the TW version =)
Here in the UK as well. Finger crossed there are no problems.
Lets see how this turns out. Hopefully for you guys. At work now and I look forward to the comments throughout the day till I get home.
what were the changes/updates?
At a glance, not much is different. Wifi direct is listed, there is a breakdown for battery usage, you can get the notification panel up while the screen is locked and apart from being ver .....21, I have not found anything else.
So far the 1st thing that I've noticed is that artifacting and graphic glitches have been minimized/removed (too early to tell) when pressing the recent apps key and when running certain wallpapers.
The Mass Effect 3 wallpaper would glitch like crazy... running it as a test right now and so far no problems. At work now so no chance to test anything else yet.
Wrong thread
Have any if you experienced screen tearing? If so is it for fixed with this update?

I haven't seen any yet and that's with the Mass Effect live wallpaper running which is a good sign.
I thought Face unlock was supposed to come with this update...can anyone confirm? I don't see it under security...

No, I think it was mentioned specifically that it wasn't coming.. at least that was some of the translations posted a week or so back said.
I think the confusion is that they said "face lock isn't ready" and people skimmed the log and saw "face lock" and jumped to the conclusion that it was in the update.
Now I just need a flashable/rooted zip for This!

Hi I've just bought my first android tablet from US. It's running on Ice cream 9.4.2.21.
I may seem like an expert on iphone jailbreak etc but have little knowledge of rooting/unlock etc. If you could point me to the right direction.
Is the rooting method out for this build yet? Which Rom do you recommend for Prime?
Thanks
root

Looks like we have to downgrade firmware before rooting. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622628
so ive been screening xda looking around and have come short. Im looking for a working 8gb version of ics. from what ive been seeing is that the 16gb roms do not work. so im refraining from trying this...
i am already aware of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529553 as well i am using this. however it does not have ics as well doesnt use the N button which will take you back into the nook os
As of right now, the hard working devs ar still trying to write out a 3.0+ kernel system for the Nook Tablet, so when they do port ICS this would as smooth as...uhh..butter? Anyhow, ICS won't be out for a while. That's also assuming the devs want to port it. If you want, there is a CM7 version for the 8gb, though it only boots from the sd card I believe

Thank god for the change, I could barely read **** back in the days cuz I have bad eyes. U might have to wait for custom ROMs to come out in Tablet mode to find out if it's possible.
I just brought my new Prime which comes with Honeycomb 3.2 and its running without any issues and I just love my Prime.
Its a known fact that ICS upgrades are causing issue to few TF201 users like reboot and random screen lockup etc but the root cause for each of these cases seems to be different and unknown.
I would like to still keep my Prime on Honeycomb for some more time till the issues are rectified.
I am new to Android world and I have a few queries:
1. Will there be any problem if I don't choose to upgrade to ICS
2. Can I still receive updates for my Honeycomb
3. what would be your advice.
Dear friends your help on my query will be greatly appreciated.
Not updating to ICS wouldn't cause any problems at all. Except in the future some apps will only run on ICS.
No, there will not be any additional HC updates from ASUS?
Only way to prevent the ICS update is to root and then disable the ASUS update service.
this is not the place to post this come on.
plus ics has all its kinks worked out. If your going to root... root before the update.

What? Where should he post this?
What you can also do is root Honeycomb and make a backup. If you feel like trying out ICS and do not like it or it is too buggy, just restore the Honeycomb backup. Nothing to lose.

I don't think he can make a backup. You have to unlock the prime to use cwm and the unlock apk only works with ics.
If you like honeycomb then by all means stick with honeycomb. Its your tablet and your experience, that tablet should be exactly the way you want it to be. I like ics but that's my personal opinion. Yes there are bugs but mines custom so I don't have to worry about the updates from Asus, which I hear aren't phenomenal.
