Hi guys. im having some paranoid issues here.
While im browsing the net, this message showed up in a box:
"Data connectivity problem" "A secure connection could not be established"
The thing is, my data network mode is deactivated. so what does this mean?
if you are using wifi.
It means that your phone tried to revert to mobile network but failed to establish a connection because dara was turned off.
it happens when the wifi signal fluctuates, the phone tries to fall back on mobile darta network. it is fairly common occurance when using wifi.

I am on bionix 1.3.1 and have noticed that whenever I turn my wifi on it seems to not allow me data access. My web browser will not connect to a page, market won't load, and any downloads that were in progress will fail. it's as if turning on the wifi is overriding my data connection and blocking it. It says that it's connected in the menu though. Any advice?
Thanks
Edit: I just noticed when looking at my phone stats, that when I turn on my wifi my mobile network state says disconnected, and it connects again when wifi is turned off.
Also, I have an airport extreme and a mac, perhaps that is my problem. I've scoured the internet and found a bunch of info about this problem, but haven't found anything that works yet.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong but if you switch from wifi to 3g while downloading the download usually will fail because you were using only wifi to download the content and when that turned off it doesn't just switch to using 3g you have to manually retry the download using 3g .... when wifi and 3g are on wifi doesn't speed up the 3g instead it does the internet related work and the 3g does the text and phone call related work
that makes sense, thanks. as for the connection problem, it is definitely mac related. my wifi seems to work on other networks. I just need to figure out how to make it work with the airport. It's just weird to me that it says it's connected and shows signal bars, but won't access the internet.

so is the new problem that the airport extreme won't give wifi to your phone or that its not working at all
According to my phone I am connected via wifi to my network from the airport, however, the phone cannot access any internet functions when connected. When I disable wifi, it works fine with 3g or edge. It seems to be something with the settings on my airport, not the phone itself.

That's surprising maybe this means apple products are biased
hi
From time to time I lose all data connectivity. This includes wifi or mobile data. I see the 4G indicator, but there's no connectivity. If i'm connected to wifi, I will lose connectivity, and when I try to turn off/on wifi to reset it, it just says "error" on my screen and nothing else.
Has anyone else seen this??
Something else I've noticed: In chrome, it says DNS error. But I don't see anywhere to check my network settings. I'm completely stock and I haven't messed around with any advanced settings. Any ideas?
Ever since I received my OPX I had little problems with my data, independently of using Wi-Fi or mobile internet (2g/3g).
It started with the fact that in the installation of the phone it couldn't connect to verify it's connection, although wifi was connected correctly.
I started it without the connection it wanted and factory resetted it and then I got the same problem, but after a few minutes it worked correctly and I could install my phone without any problems.
Now when I work with my phone (Whatsapp, 9gag, webrowsing, video streaming) it sometimes stops with loading, like it has lost its connection, but both Wi-Fi and mobile internet are connected.
This is very frustrating when watching video, since it just won't buffer anymore and I have to wait for like 1 minute before it continues and reloading the page helps most of the times, because I then force to get data.
Sometimes when WhatsApp isn't loading/ keeping it's connection I just start a SpeedTest to ensure it has an open connection. This works most of the times.
Also WhatsApp Web keeps losing its connection while the screen is on.
I hope you guys have some ideas on this subject.
I have a similar issue. In my case the device seems to have problems with certain WiFi-Networks (at university to be precise). The connection with the WiFi is still there, but there's no actual connection to the internet sometimes. That's why your mobile data doesn't activate - there are no connection issues on mobile data for me.
The cause for this is probably the lack of a 5GHz WiFi antenna. I don't know why, but my OPX cannot handle the 2.4GHz WiFi at university (at home it works fine!).
So to test this out, you should try different WiFi-Networks. If the network is 2.4GHz only, it should be working.
The WiFi thing while setting up the phone is a known OxygenOS bug and can be worked around.
Eh, not sure if there is a problem or not, but since I just got this phone yesterday, I'm mighty aggravated I keep getting this notification.
I don't see anything in the settings, and I'm connected to my wifi at home, so what "wireless data connection" is this device notifying me about?
¡Gracias!
[Question] Forced VPN connection shows Wifi "no internet" notice (with internet)
Hello,
I've setup Android 9.0 (LineageOS) with an always on VPN (with OpenVPN),
https://i.imgur.com/yGm9knQ.png
and configured AFWall to ensure internet only through VPN.
https://i.imgur.com/Y6aacHr.png
While everything is working correctly (internet works, even with mobile data off), Wifi shows a "no internet" notice. Is there a way to correct this?

If not, it's not a big deal as it's really an aesthetics issue, functionally it works.
Thank you for any advice.
Edit: Also noticed, if I disable Wifi and leave mobile data on, mobile data will then have a "no internet" notice (while internet still works).
