Be warned - mods tend to close threads like this.
The best ROM for you is a matter of taste. I personally like VillainROM 3.0, but I tend to have a more "conservative" style. I actually LIKE the fact that he hasn't rebased since September.

Well i personally want something with the must features, stability, power (benchmark wise), and style... Currently i rock with Unnamed.

Please search before posting.. this is often brought up, and plenty of other discussions..

[Q] Can't find a clean, simple TW ROM

Hi guys, sorry that this has probably been asked a million times, but I've been through the bible and 10 pages of this board and can't find a single clean TouchWiz ROM without garbage theming and addons that just make the phone unpleasant to use.
All I'm looking for is a clean, unthemed, TouchWiz Froyo ROM that's stable and doesn't have any bloat. Should I just revert to stock and remove the bloatware manually, or is there a ROM that fits this criteria? Thanks.
Garbage theming? I would give u an answer but I dont know what completly stock ROM is out there but I will let u know ur not gonna get one if ur gonna be bashing on all these Devs ROMs and then ask for info. Just be a lil more concious on what u say.

I have no issue with the hard work these devs do, I appreciate all the impressive achievements they've made. I use custom ROMs on my Desire and Transformer.
What I don't like, though, is not being able to find a single ROM that has the UI made the way Samsung intended. People dislike TW for being inconsistent with the rest of Android, never mind colours on top of that which are often inconsistent, hard to read, clash, or not a colour I'd chose. I find it hard to believe there's not anyone else who'd agree.

I'd have to say Project V and then put TW3 back onto it and it's pretty much like a "Stuck +" ROM.
Looks like stock, but runs EXTREMELY smooth and fast.

Quick question, is there a link for TW3 I'm missing? All I saw was TW4.
IMO this is the best 2.2.1 rom for the vibrant.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015303
Bone stock AOSP rom, with a Hint of touchwiz. Paired with his Kernal, or the latest Bali for 2.2/2.2.1 can't be beat.
Best battery life I've ever gotten,
Best GPS I've ever seen.
and its Uber smooth, atleast as smooth as CM7 if not smoother.

That also looks sweet. Add in Launcher Pro or ADW and it could work fine. Thanks!
I would say Project V or Bi-Winning, but if you want to upgrade to GB you can try RevolutionRom which is virtually stock (it is themed like the SGSII) with a few tweaks to make fast and really stable.

[Q] Whats your favorite battery saving roms? (SGH-I777)

I was just curious to what are some of the better battery saving roms out their. I have a samsung galaxay s 2 i777 and after the dreadful 2.3.6 update my phones battery dies before the end of the day (thats if i dont use it) and withing 12 hours if i use it through the day. Im looking for a flashy rom that does not take up to much battery life anything better than this 2.3.6 att update would be great. So what is your favorite battery saving rom, and why?
sorry, but this thread is going to die...
why's that, this is a general question after all.

Unfortunately, the mods don't like people getting into spitting matches over which ROM is better. Typically they will spiral out of control.
Your best bet is to just peruse the forums and try multiple ROMs and find what is best for you.

ROMs are like girlfriends, you can pick the good looking one, but that does not mean that she wont nag. Younger is not always better.
I have been in a quest for this very thing and I can tell you that so much depends on your usage patterns, applications you install, and other stuff, that there is no perfect solutions.
Given where you are, I would go to this thread and read as much as you can. Probably the single best place to learn how to figure out the root cause and the strength/weakness of a ROM base:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308030
So to answer you with my personal view is that:
- I cannot use the Hellraised ROMs due to my requirement to have password
- Many have had good experience with Hellraised ROMs, so if you do not have that restriction (PIN or PW), I would try that
- So from the i777 base, the best battery life for me came from UnNamed 1.3.2 with DD kernel. I still have significant battery problems, but that gives me the best

Best simile ever!
Ya, these threads dont usually produce good wholesome conversations... it usually turns into a popularity contest and different Devs dont like to see that.
However, for battery saving, there is a good thread going on here with awesome data.

CM9 kernel vs Siyah Kernels

Before to make this a debate. I must say that this is all my personal opinions.
I wish you all to know that I have probably flashed all kinds of roms, SEEKING to find some kind of PERFECT rom, but you all know that we as humans will never get and accept something that is perfect, as perfect. (just love be4 she dumps you xD)
So continuing with this thread, I wish to share my experiences with you ALL <3 and hopefully answer all of your questions.
Stock CM9 KERNEL/ROM
Pros: The best one i have tried with almost never changing Battery life, I love it and always return to this bad guy after a bunch of roms with bad battery life. You must get this!
Cons: Little to none customization when it comes to governors.
Siyah x
Pros: considered as the best kernel for almost 78% of the XDA(not really, hehe), they like this because of the multiple governors and for being one of the best kernels with cero problems, always updating. Apart from it, it also supports 2nd rom in recovery, so its perfect.
Cons: as all other kernels, in order to get best battery life, you need to tweak them, change voltages, and it takes time, without changing anything from this kernel, the battery life goes to 90% from 100% with only 4 minutes.
Other kernels
Pros: you get to try new kernels...Woohooo!!!
Cons:just not as good as siyah kernels without customizing them.
So I hope you find this as a little entertainment for both, me and you, with love, bye!....
Seriously, what's the meaning of this thread?
How about a new comparison?
This thread VS this comment
This thread
PROS -
•Something to pass my time
•Keeps a mod busy when they come along and close it
CONS -
•Threads of this kind aren't allowed on XDA because a simple debate can easily get out of hand
•It's a pointless thread and wastes peoples time
This comment
PROS -
•It passes time
•It's kinda funny
•Makes me seem like an arse
CONS -
•None
I'm a product of the system I was born to destroy!

I know you are asking for aosp rom, but, try
OMEGA 27.2 or wanamlite 3.7
+
JB Domination theme + android stock internet browser + apex or nova launcher
+
PIMP MY ROM (<- awesome mod)
+
titanium backup pro to RE-ODEX a deodexed rom
I am having the better battery life that I never had before<- thanks to pimp my rom
A great AOSP "like" experience with the JB domination theme + aosp stock browser
an everything works fine because it is a samsung based stock rom
but especially thanks to "pimp my rom", I think my flasholic adiction is over :silly:
If I understood correctly, these kinds of posts (what is the best ROM?) are against the rules here at XDA.
But anyway... I suggest sifting through the ROMs published in the development forum and just reading what they're about, reading user experiences, and of course trying out the ones that seem interesting to you.
That's what I do.
That's what I imagine most people on here do.
That's what's so great about this place.
Thread reported to moderator....best rom threads aren't allowed here nor are they looked upon lightly, selection of a rom is entirely based on personal preference.

I'm a fanatic ex RootBox user. To me, this question rather depends on personal preferences. There are no such thing as this kernel is better than that kernel because in my opinion, all items on XDA are treated the same respect. If you have to ask me, I'd stick to the stock kernel that came with RootBox itself as I think the developers developed their ROM to proper blend with the kernel they provided, just make sure they are compatible with each other.
Ever since bajee has left the development, I switched to NeatROM JB 4.1.2 Aroma (and never regreted once) since they are more active supports, updates, and mods for this ROM. It's very sad though RootBox has so much potentials to stay on my top ROM list.
You've gotta try to understand and satisfied with the kernel you choose for RootBox and the answer will come from yourself. People can make reviews, but that's all depends on how they use their phone. Same questions like battery life, etc. it's all depends. To me, the best combo is Apollo regular + NeatROM JB. Best battery life ever, you will be surprised looking at the battery graph.
Hope that helps.

great answer my dear
I am puzzled by the fact
This rom has many options that do not exist except in a few roms like PACROM...BAMROM..
But unfortunately ..RootBox has a bad battery performance
So ... I thought to use another kernel may solve the problem
i know that NeatRom has a great battery performance ..but i miss a lot of options in it
thx t u man :good:
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.
