Hi, I have a SE Xperia Mini Pro SK17a months now and I forgot to make this thread in September. Anyways, does anyone here have this squeeky noise on the back cover near the volume buttons where it's under the volume down button and the center of the phone on the right side of it?
I've popped off the cover a million times and it still has that annoying noise.
Note, the noise only occurs when I apply pressure under the volume down button in a squeezing way. At first it clicks, after squeezing it for months, it's now more of a sqweek.
I have tried another sk17a cover and it is still there.
Any ideas?

when it comes to builds its not very good with many company's my old mini pro had that stick a small piece of paper there should b ok, dont fold it to much.lol
thats what i did with my old mini pro and most people who had it.
my new mini pro is smooth from one side but volume side is sticking out try to bend the plastic back cover so it fits smoothly but no luck.
A fried of mine who got a Mini Pro (I promoted it, lol) did not have this problem. I physically compared it and switched the back covers too, no squeek on the friends Mini Pro, on both back covers. With the newer back cover on mine, i still get the sqweek...

The faceplate for the phone buttons on my Touch Pro is shifting like tectonic plates. The Back button side is flushed with the screen but the Home side is raised a bit like it's bent upwards a bit. Am I the only one with this problem? I walked into a Best Buy to look at the demo and it's all flushed.. even with thousands of hands raping the display unit daily..
Mine is like that to but my back button goes lower
mine is doing the exact same thing. i took mine into bell and they told me that its normal... mind you they were complete f****** idiots. no offence to amyone who works for them. i myself used to sell for them. anyway... i too looked and the display and it was also completely flush. i'm concerned about the reprocutions of long term use...
My Sprint TP has been in exactly the same shape as the original poster's since day 1. I would have refused it initially but just getting the thing was such a pain due to the crappy service I was getting that I just went with it anyway, but it bothers me every time I use it. Does anybody know whether this should be covered under the manufacturers warranty?
My sprint TP is normal .. no issues so far had it for month ..
but reading that scarying me..
hey do you think its just defect ? under my cover says DT08.12.17
guessing day its made ?
Yeah, mine's raised up too... on mine, both sides are raised up with the home side being 1 or 2 millimeters higher. It hasn't seemed to affect the functionality of it. Not sure if mine was like this out of box, but i've had it less than 30 days and just recently noticed it. It won't concern me until the buttons stop working or i have to start pressing harder to activate them.
I just noticed after reading this thread that mine is the same. The home side is higher, where the "back" button is nearly flush. I've only had mine for about two weeks, but it must have been like this out of the box.
Sprint Touch Pro
Mine seems to be even and flush and does not move without my pressing it.
Manufacture Date: 12-2008
I would definitely look into having yours replaced if the plate is shifting around or not flush.
The 3 most annoying things on the phone are the lack of buttons / shortcuts like on my HTC Mogul, battery life (which is fixable with an extended battery), and how hot the phone gets after only a short time of use. Also the volume up/down button gets stuck in the down position occasionally.
Hello,
I don't know if it's just me, but whenever I pull out my x10 mini pro's qwerty keypad out, it tends to slam hard on the phone. I'm scared that something inside might break. I think the spring inside is tight so it slams hard when pulled out. Do experience the same thing as well? Do you think this is normal? I'm getting kinda paranoid whenever I pull out the keypad.
Thanks,
Pabs
agree .. with wifes I hold the keyboard as it comes out to slow it down.

LOL I noticed most x10 mini users are girls. Maybe in time the spring will get loose and by that time we only need gravilty to pull out the keypad . On a second thought, SE phones are really durable. My old phone, w810i got so beat up to the point that it needs scotch tape to hold the casing but it's still working in tip top shape.
My week-old 800 is great, except for the one small annoying thing with the power button. It's obviously functioning fine, but it's very loose and wiggles around on its own, whereas the volume/camera buttons are firm and in place. I know it's not a big deal, but could it be fixed by opening the phone and re-seating it? Does anyone else have issues with loose buttons?
My camera button is a little lose. Though I can live with it since it's the camera button. Sort of suits it better to be a little lose than the other ones.
I think the camera button is a little looser due to it being 2 stage, not much you can do about that.
As for the power button, I guess if you stripped it down, you could put a shim in place to help matters.

One of my earlier Lumia's that I returned had a very firm camera button.
Yeah, my camera button is firm as well.

Mine is loose a little bit, but it feels good when pressing. It rattles when i shake my phone but that isn't that annoying. My first Lumia had a crackling sound when display is touched at right side. That was REALLY annoying

I also had a strange sound on my first lumia 800 when pressing the screen. Probably the gorilla glass was´t properly attached.. But whats interesting is that there are several ppl here that have had lumia devices with the screen not properly attached.
I think that's problem in plastic that holds display to the rest of housing. Find some video of Lumia disassembly and you will see how it looks. I had that issue on my second Lumia and i sorted it out wit tightening the two screws beneatk covers. It was much less noticeable than on firs device but i knew where to look for crackling so i found it But this one is much much better
Hey did you ever open up your phone? My power button stopped working yesterday and Nokia China didn't help me since they don't sell the phone here. I have to use the camera button to access my phone... it makes me livid. Can you offer any advice?
Silly question maybe but what is that little black button type thing. at first i thought is it a hardware reset button or is it hiding a screw? I dare not push it or try to prise it open.
No pic sorry but take the back cover off and its right next to the silver screw thrid one down on right hand side as you hold phone.
I think its hiding a screw (tamper-evident casing)

possibly, although i had mine (semi) apart without touching that (was emergency battery out moment )
however - push it all you like, it won't do anything
Ok the tablet is great. But after a week ive noticed today two things that are making me return it and probally ask for money back.
The back near the power button feels as if its not glued down when u push it slightly it clicks, this isnt acceptable in a 400 quid tablet
Now the screen ive just noticed this when I hold the far right corner the screen shows extreme signs of pressure from back and distorts, its. Only does it along the left hand side.
Has anyone else noticed these problems

I have mine arriving on the 6th, so I hope I don't get any problems like this. However, it does sound unusual from all the reviews I've read. I'd say replace it, sounds faulty.
Noticed it also on the right side.
Screen is also too sensitive.

the power button is designed that way i think.. but the sensitivity on the right is i didn't notice so far.. i felt a little bit sensitive when i first remove the plastic cover on the screen.. i think its due to adhesive on the plastic cover..

yep. This is a downside of thinnes ( It lacks rigidy a bit cause it shell made of plastic not metal as in ipad. But the plus side it is lightweight.
