My new galaxy tab 10.1 (7510) was working fine, I plugged it in before I went out cause the battery was about 50 % and when I came home (3 hrs. later) it was completely dead. Can't turn it on at all. Does anyone know what might be wrong?
I installed ADW a few days ago, it was working great. Today I downloaded EZPDF and was thrilled with it, working awesome and now it won't do anything. Help please.
Try holding down the power button for 30 secs?
Also try power and volume down.

Not to sound rude because I got confused with this the first time with the volume buttons. Hold down power and the volume button closest to it witch is actually down don't want you holding the wrong buttons. I have had this prob before just hold those buttons tell it turns on those buttons also help if the tab and or phone freezes it reboots the tablet.

Thank you so much for your help. It is back up and working fine. If it had been my phone I would have just popped the battery out for a second but this scared me for some reason. Maybe because it's. brand new. I guess I'll be OK if I just think of it as an oversize phone. Anyways thanks again everyone. Sorry that was supposed to be the Smiley.
Igive up. I'm using the Thumb keyboard and for some reason there are times when it won't let me correct a mistake. Gonna have to find out how come.
Thanks again

Hi guys,
I've installed CM7 following the tutorial given on Touchpad Development forum.
Everything was working quite good (gapps, etc.) and I've been able to use CM during hours.
But since this afternoon, I'm not again able to turn my Touchpad on.
I've tried :
- power
- hold power
- hold power + home button
- hold power + home button + volume up
And nothing has worked.
Is there a physical way for resetting the device ?
Have you got any idea ?
I feel so unhappy because of this.
Thanks in advance for your help or ideas !
well... the Touchpad just turned ion !
Thanks God...
But I still don't know why I was unable to turn it on during hours... strange strange strange ! It just booted on with 40% of battery.
Let me guess. It was in a touchstone?

Mine is doing the same thing right now. Been using CM since this morning, set it down for a hour now and it wont turn on. I didnt even turn it off, battery was fine too.
edit...found a thread at rootzwiki and its easy fix. Hold Poer and Home for 15 seconds or so and it will fire right up!!!
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?7913-SOLVED-Touchpad-shut-off-and-I-can-t-get-it-back-on!
From what I can tell the touchstone does not work with android. If the unit freezes hold home and power 15 sec

I don't know what's that lol. Sorry but I can't help you with it. Given that you're stock and unrooted, you might wanna send it to Samsung to fix it.

All depends on what the "deadness " is......
Could be dead dead, or could be screen dead in which case stuff is happening but you can't see anything happening.
If you have already had device connected to a computer that has the appropriate drivers installed (talking windows here) open device manager on the computer then connect the tab and see what, if anything happens and might be detected... That would show tab is working but you cannot see it... If nothing happens immediately once it's plugged in, take a fairly long press on power button and see if anything is detected then. A long press on power button (15 sec+) would put tab in apx mode which actually shows nothing on screen but again device manager would show it (this is used for nv flash). At least this way you'll know if it's dead dead or "just" something else...
Btw eushaun99 is a great and helpful dude here and has my respect but I think he gave you a bum steer via a typo with his button pressing...I think he meant press power button and volume down for boatloader, not "power and power" as he wrote, so that is worth a try also... Am I ok with that eushaun99?

I have same issue too. My GT7500 starts only if I warm it till >45°C using a hairdryer or putting it under the sun (here in Italy very hot). But it's only for a normal boot, not in case of reboot when it goes all fine.

That sounds to me like the battery is tired, very tired and needs some help to produce current required, or a faulty connection somewhere. Once the tab is running the whole unit would tend to self heat so will reboot ok. Most fails are the opposite and are heating faults which is why someone came up with freezing sprays to track down which circuit comes back to life when cooled. Have you noticed any reduction of time that battery lasts between charges ?
Ciao

No, it didn't change. This thing lasts since november and it's very annoying 'cause I have to pay much attention to not shut my tab off, elseway I have to get the hairdryer again and so on...
Inviato dal mio GT-P7500 usando Tapatalk 4
What does it do/not do when it doesn't start? Blank screen? Nothing? Bootloop? Freezes?
sent from my still superb Google I/O 7510 (xda hd)
Nothing at all. I keep the power button while warming the tab and when it decides it's enough it starts with the normal boot screen (samsung galaxy tab etc.)

Brilliant!! That's a far quicker way than normal where people drain the battery by taping down the power button to drain battery to achieve reset.... :highfive:

Hey everyone, all of a sudden, the power/sleep button on my gear fit seems to not work at all....
has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?
gonna try and run the battery down and then attach it to the charger, but afraid that it will no longer turn back on if I do that
its been about a months since I bought it so I won't be able to return it unless I buy a new one and do a dishonest switcharoo
Everything about the watch appears to be working properly except for the fact that the power sleep
no damage or anything
any suggestions?

That happened to me a month or so ago. Just hold down the power button for twenty seconds or more. Eventually it will totally power off. All worked when I powered it back up. Hope it works for you.

just happened to me
only responded by Bluetooth operation and touch screen, but not work by button, try several times but failed even I reset the gear fit, also I can't charge it. failed only 1 month from I bought it, finally I hold down the button for long time and it show rebooting! after rebooting everything is back.
and then I found this thread
Thanks for advice. It just happened to me too. I didn't expect to find a fix this fast. And I didn try to turn it off. It worked for me with 10 seconds of holding down the button. It restarted and then everything went back to normal.

Would you be able to remember how much it cost to send in and what that was dependent on. The button on mine seems to be permanently pressed in and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. Please and thank you.
If your button seems to be permanently pressed holding it down for 20 25 seconds should help it recover. It also resets your phone.
Reviving an old thread but my button stopped working after a few days in Disney with the family. It had started randomly rebooting while there and then on the last day.. couldn't even hit the power button on the flight home (was fully recessed in) It was 1 day..no joke..1 day after the 1 year warranty expired.
I tried heating it in a hot pack and that would pop the button out but only for a single press then it stuck in. iFixit showed a hole in step 4 (you'll have to google for the article since there is no linking allowed) well.. given the warranty was up and its pretty useless without a power button... i poked the hole with a pin and while i'm sure I broke the vacuum seal and waterproof-ness at least it working. Since its a tiny tiny hole and with that plastic cover back on it i'm betting it'll last at least a while longer.. i'll just be a bit more careful about water exposure.
Good luck to anyone else with this problem
Hi all..
I am having a Dell Venue 7 tablet. I bought it around 6 months ago. Everything was working fine.
2 days ago, when I woke up in morning, and was trying to power on my tablet, It didn't power on. I thought, it might happen due to battery drain. But, after charging for hours, I am still unable to power it on.
I tried pressing power button for a couple of seconds many time after random intervals of time, also with combination of volume buttons too. But, nothing made it to power it on.
Same problem happened last week, but that time after a night's interval, I was able to power it on normally.
Can anyone HELP ME to understand the problem and sort it out.
Thanks.

I know it takes about 3 seconds of holding the button for this tab but I have no doubts you know that... Have you tried powering it on WHILE plugged in perhaps? I would try using another charger as well, maybe you have a lose connection or bad wire that only charges sometimes. Also I think it is hold the vol up key then press power for recovery, might wanna double try that. Besides those things I would pull off the back cover (it's easy, at least on my venue 8, just remove the SD card first) and try manually depressing the power button inside and check the battery connection. Only thing it could be outside of all this is a bad button/main board. If you manage to get it powered back on then maybe don't shut it down anymore? As long as you don't have some app affecting it the battery should lose very little charge in standby. Mine is always on and carried in a pouch in my purse. I simply plug it in overnight to charge. Good luck!

sounds like stuck in download mode to me connect to a pc open device manager see id you see any unknown devices pop up or intel-soc / cloverview devices if so hold power until it goes away if it does disconnect the device from the pc power on holding vol down and power should boot to droidboot if it does select recovery from the menu when it boot to recovery hit its either volume up and power or volume down and power to show recovery menu select reboot and the device will reboot I've seen tons of these fail to set the boot mode properly and appear dead.
I have a new app installed, from the App Store, and have started this. After I wanted to enter my name the app hung up and since then the tab is dead. It can not be started anymore.
Home Button + Volume up + power button does not work either.
Does anyone have another tip? I've never had anything like that and it's not the first device in my hands.
It is not rooted. Is the normal software from Samsung on it.
I had it on my tab pro 12.2 and it turned out my micro-SD card had gone bad. Please remove it if you have one in your tab S3 and restart it.

Try power button + volume up + volume down at same time? Are you sure the battery is charged? Try a different charger and cable.
The tablet hung on the original charger half the night and the other half on a Sony charger. Each time a different cable is used. Unfortunately it stays dark on the tablet. Power button + volume up + volume down did not help.
How dead is it? I mean, is it turning on?
(the lack of a notification light on this tablet annoys me, as I think it would help in such a situation!)
I had something similar when I was rooting it..
There should at least be a factory reset layer. I got to it with volume up and home - no power button required. I believe I had to hold them for a long time, ten seconds or so. And if it shows life you then hold the power button. Apologies if that's what you tried, but you don't hold all three buttons at once is all!
I am inclined to believe if this doesn't work your tablet might not actually have any power. Which could imply, say, a battery issue.
It could be the other way around, oddly. The tablet is on, but the screen has hung with no display. Another combination to try is power and volume down.
The tablet is absolutely dead. No matter what combination of buttons. And no it was not rooted or something like that. Since I still have warranty, it arrived this morning in the repair workshop.
The tablet has now been repaired and replaced the motherboard.
