This is a poll about the many defects our primes are shipping with...
If you dont have an issue at all with any defects then please post a comment here so we can see how many are not having issues.
If you do not have a prime or you dont want to hear any negatives about the pricey device you just purchased then don't post at all please.
Give the guy a break, this is serious issue. We need to know as much as we can so we can decide to get or wait for issue to resolve. Many people are reporting GPS problem. I could pick one up now but not going to until more people chime in that their GPS is working properly.
If you test your GPS make sure it's not using wifi to determine location.
Negative people attract negative energy/negative things. Might be karma for all those nitpicking issues before they even received the prime. They self fulfilled issues..lol. J/k
Seriously, this poll could be a good thing. To address any "Real" issues people are experiencing. I think the title tries to imply this device is riddled with defects, as only some are reporting. There are still plenty of those out there not really having issues. I will make sure to test all these things also when I receive mines. If it does have a minor issue, not a big deal. Either wait for update to fix it or exchange. No device ever released has ever been perfect or didn't have bugs/issues. The most popular tablet of all, apple ipad2, had almost 100% of initial launch supply suffering from backlight bleeding.

I know you dont have a prime yet and have been known to be a troll. This is a poll about transformer prime defects not apple or any other device.
Its not that hard to understand. But i see that kids will be kids i suppose. Anyone that is here for useful information please just ignore the kiddies that plague the transformer prime xda forum.

idk if you meant to quot his post or not but he was agreeing with the OP unlike the other guys that you didn't quote... This is something good for the forum though the title could be worded a little different?
Why not have a "No issues" in the voting? It will put the other numbers in perspective.

Agreed. Without that option, it would appear that every Prime has one issue or another.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. If you have 6 people saying they have problems, and 200 that have no problems, there's no way to capture that. It gives a false impression at first glance.
I would add the opposite for each of your choices.. that those work.
I was going to add that option but it wont let you add to the poll once its already created, sorry but this will still be useful information to see.
Its sad that the only people that have posted are trolls that don't even own a prime let alone have a brain...
Update, just opened my prime. Right after opening it the first thing i noticed was screen bleed/light leak coming from the right side and bottom of the screen. It isnt too bad but noticeable on a total black screen and on the status bar which is black.
Wifi was weak at first but then I did a system update which improved it a bit (i think, seems to fluctuate from low to ok but its better than just being low i suppose).
GPS does not work at all just like everyone else i know who also received their primes.
Thank god I dont have any dead pixels. and my bundled game controller is sexy!
Kick and scream all you want but this device does have defects just like any device, this is a place for people to find out what type of defects to expect. I continue to be amazed with how many childish trolls roam these transformer prime threads but I guess with a name like Transformer Prime it was bound to happen lol
Battery status does not tell me anything. It just says the status is unavailable.
Maybe my prime is bugged to death. GPS issue and now this...

You cannot add another option to polls. Sorry, correct me if I am wrong and I will be more than happy to add it.
GPS works nicely for me with a quick lock (12 sats), no WiFi issues buuut there's definite backlight bleeding.
The above image is with max brightness in super ips mode. There is similar spot on the other corner too.

I have yet to see a single trollish post in this thread besides yours. Ive read nearly every post in this forum and do not think of demandarin as a troll. This information IS somewhat useless without the 'no problems' option. I'm sorry i voted before reading your posts. What may i ask is your age since u seem to think everyone else is a trolling child?
For the sake of data i have very slight light bleed and nonworking gps. Wouldnt trade it for any other tablet though.

I have a bright spot under my glas. No real dead pixel but more like they are not able to go in the same state like the other pixels around...
Besides this and not working GPS i have no problem: Not dead pixel, no annoying light bleeding, no dust under the screen... The quality is much better than it was with my Transformer.
everyone with an issue chill out and wait for more updates unless its hardware obviously go exchange it
contrary to everyone my gps is perfect so is wifi although i have dead pixles
My seems good. One thing i did notice was when i turned my gps off, the icon still flashes and looks for signal.

Ha! Exactly right. It doesn't make me feel any better that another device, which I don't own and have no intention of buying, has problems. The only way this news is helpful is when arguing with iPhans about how their stuff is perfect. It doesn't make my Prime work any better, and that's little comfort.
I think someone else already started a thread this morning about how pointless these Apple-has-problems-too threads are. Pointing at the problems of others doesn't fix your own problems. It's just deflection.
Is there really a need for this topic?
As you've already posted the same thing in... two?
Seperate Ipad comparasion topic.
So if the Viewsonic ViewPad has a dozen dead pixels does that make it OK for the Prime to have ten? These "see, someone else lowered the bar" posts don't make any sense when trying to justify any devices shortcomings. If a device has an included feature each manufacturer should be held to a high standard making sure it works properly. It'll suck for Apple if the iPad3 does have Wi-Fi issues but that's not an excuse for every other manufacturer to start shipping products with ****ty Wi-Fi.

I agree 100%. but this is to show Asus and Prime is not the only one with these type of issues. I know you don't have amnesia. I'm sure you remember in the begging how you n others made it seem like Asus and Prime was the only tablet ever to suffer from issues and being so close to release. well current news on the latest n greatest Ipad shows otherwise. that's all. Aside from that point I just made, what you saying is correct. no company should have all this going on. but electronics are far from perfect, just like man is. so what man creates will be imperfect also. All product companies have issues one way or another. all this new Ipad revelation is just letting current prime owners know, WE ARE NOT ALONE IN ALL THIS. even the best tablet selling device in the world is now experiencing a crisis far larger than prime issues ever was.

While I agree that it doesn't change anything if you hate your prime so much why not get rid of it? All I see you post is gripes and complaints and it makes no sense to me why you would keep something that makes you cry aloud so much.
It is asinine to me that people would rather constantly complain about something and make no attempt to mitigate the issue, even if that mitigation is just getting rid of it.

This, x1000000000
To bring up ANY other product's flaws, unless that flaw led to a solution that could help, is pointless. So what if 50 other devices have wifi issues too, that just means they potentially made a similar mistake. That does not elevate the prime, nor did it need elevating to begin with. enough finger pointing.
It's probably a mistake even posting on this as it's just going to bump it. But I really agree with the other people. I bought a prime. Yes seeing a thread or two about comparisons with other devices is alright and I enjoy reading them. That being said every other thread this week is iPad. These threads are not contributing and they're not helping or informative to anyone that has a prime.
Really wish people would post on threads already made about THAT topic.
And that's my rant.
@Demandarine... I'm thinking the issues popping up a lot quicker because the volume of ipads sold is wayyyyy more than any other single tablet.

This thread has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Transformer Prime other than an attempt to create more discussion about the Prime and the iPad when there are already way too many threads created. Closing this thread. Enough is enough people. Go post in one of the other iPad vs Transformer threads.
Or - better yet - stop comparing - you begin to sound like a bunch of fanbois arguing with other fanbois - and you can't argue with a fanboi.

I do not want to take the happyness away from you, but test WiFi and BT together, not one at a time, and tell us if WiFi is dropped or weak when you listen to YouTube stream or similar test.
Better yet there should be a Un happy Prime owners thread. Rather then having thread after thread of the same negative threads being made. Majority of people are tired of seeing. Its refreshing to see positive posts. I don't have any issues as well. You seem to just want to keep the truth about the majority being happy with their devices. Its about time happy owners started expressing themselves. So if you want happy owners to stick to the positive threads... then i suggest the un happy stick to theirs and not hijack the Prime forum to make it look like the Prime is a lemon.

That would be logical and some people on this forum wont effectively troll if it were all in one thread because people happy with their prime like myself would simply avoid that thread. They should also have a thread where people talk about how great it was switching to an Ipad and how it solved all the worlds problems.

Well I can see you are in Sweden, I got mine RMA'ed through ASUS Nordic, and it's on the way back from repair center.
It's nice to see that yours works fine. But I would suggest to do so:
Go 5 meters away from the router, (I see you are close, as you have full bars in Wifi signal).
Instead of testing the mouse test a BT headset and stream while you are at least 5 meteres from WiFi source.
If the music or YouTube stream does not drop, then you are save.
There is hope so for me too. Mine had only WiFi/BT issue otherwise was perfect.
Asus took off GPS on the damn labels, remember? Now all of a sudden they have a GPS dongle? This company doesn't know which way they are going at all. Excuse me, there is no GPS in that tablet it is not on the label but we have this GPS dongle for you that won't fix your BT/WIFI issue. Trust me, it is another way Asus will find out how to make more money on. Somehow.
Don't be such a baby.
You're mad that they backtracked on removing GPS from the spec? This is more than just acknowledging the issue. If it works, it's an actual fix, even if you do now need to carry another accessory with you.
It's free. Don't complain about free.

u gotta admit it is pretty f-ed up that i can't use my prime for anything internet releated in a bout half my house. well actually now i have 3 yes 3 routers scattered all because i didn't wanna give up on my prime. and that fact that i can't even trust it will be fixed if i send it in. I think wifi was about 98% of the reason for dissatisfaction and gps was about 2% its just gps was a more valid point when trying to get a refund because the wi-fi worked it just blew donkey nuts where the gps was non existent. so u wanna flame someone flame all the people that called asus *****ing relentlessly about the gps when they could of gave 2 sh*ts about it.
I hope you get better soon...
I did some research before I bought the TF201 and i believed the prime is the best andriod tablet on the market. Just to buy it and find out it has all these issues.
The most resent one for me is the Camera having the green scrambled screen. This company has really let me down so my question is...is there any better tablet out there? Is there any better company excluding apple lol i hate them.
I know the TF700 is coming out but i thought i was reading something today that said it has problems too, i only hope that was my imagination. Anyways what do you guys think? The TF201 has great specs but im really disappointed with the quality and build. Is there something better out there?
I have no idea what you are talking about. My Prime has been nothing but fantastic...Maybe you are thinking of an Acer tablet perhaps?

No im not thinking of acer. I am talking ASUS Transformer Prime TF201. I have new one and it has some issues. The worse being the green camera...for me at least. Im glad you have a good tablet i guess i wish i was as lucky as you. But check this q&a section you will see people are complaining about their camera.
I have no problems with my Prime as well. It hardly ever leaves my side. There's a link on my signature of the Positive Transformer Prime thread.. I suggest reading that thread as well. Negative threads unfortunately over populate our forum which is normal.. People mostly come here not only to gain more knowledge and better there experience with there devices but to solve there own issues... not to praise it. But majority of owners are quite happy with there purchases.
Edit: The next update should hopefully fix the issue you are having with the camera. Honestly I've had several kinds of tablets and they all have there issues... Along with the issues you are having with the green screen on your camera. I had that on my galaxy tab 10.1 and experienced it also with my Acer A500.. Firmware updates fixed them right up.

I read the positive forum before i bought my tab. It really helped me make my decision. Like i said the tab has great spec, the tegra and all that..but has very bad build and quality like common i spent over 500 for this device and in less than a month the camera stops working now i have to do RMA for another month. Its just all so disappointing.
I would wait to RMA it until after this up coming update. It may very well fix your issue. It should be any day now.
Edit: I feel for you but just because you spent 500 bucks doesn't mean its going to be perfect. Maybe in a perfect world yes. All the different tablets I've ever owned have had some form of issue. Sorry to say paying a premium isn't going to exempt you from SW/HW issues.

all I have to say is, how did you read that the TF-700 aka infinity pad has some problems also. lmfao. its not even released yet. not even tech sites have gotten their hands on it to review. only possible problems would be the 4g version. it will use the S4 chip, which is in very short supply right now due to manufacturing issues. so it will likely be delayed.
p.s. My Prime works great also. if yours have a cam issue then RMA it or exchange it.

I understand what you mean about things not having to be perfect. I just felt like maybe since it's that expensive, it should have certain things that have no flaws e.g. the screen...i would think that there shouldn't be any dead pixels?...like some things should have some standards? But i totally understand it can't be perfect.
In spite of some of the replies here the Prime is plagued with problems. It's true that you will hear from more people with issues on forums about a product than those who are satisfied. But the shear number of complaints in regards to the Prime on several forums indicate to me that it is indeed a device with design flaws and quality control issues. Even in interviews ASUS representatives have said that the metal back cover cause signal issues. I believe many of those who claim no wifi issues never use their Prime far enough from a router to realize how weak the range is. I am presently at a hotel with wifi. My smartphone and my wife's smartphone get great wifi connection. I gave up watching videos on my Prime because its constantly buffering. This is my 3rd Prime. All have had basically the same signal issues. Others have been through more than 3 Primes. Some have found one OK enough to stick with after trying several. For someone to say you must be talking about an Acer and not an ASUS is ridiculous considering even ASUS has admitted there is a design flaw. They all have the same metal back. If it wasn't an issue why would ASUS change the design on the back cover of the TF700 to include a plastic cover over the antenna? Why not continue with the pretty all metal cover if it did not cause any issues? And besides the signal issues there are other issues that ASUS is trying to resolve with upcoming firmware updates. You are right to be concerned with ASUS not Acer as one has suggested you must own.

I completely agree with you and i respect the opinions of the people who have commented here. My main concern though is that: is there something better?
Personaly there issnt better unless you go for appel. And I dont know if its really any better.
I have over 300 yards range on my TP wifi.(open space). 0 gps signal but then the dongle works so im ok with that.. I'm just finished watching a 1080p mkv file over wifi with no buffering or any hickups. And I'm a good 20yard from the ap,
And no matter what you pick, it doesnt have a battery powered clip on keyboard with full size usb, SDcard reader and many more
The prime IS the best android tablet on the market atm.. sadly some have issues..
I think 80% of the faulty TP owners are on this forum. I have spoke to many TP owners and noone have issues, and thought I was the only one with a faulty gps.
