I just wonder how fast Neo was from the beggining. I had allways good results with the Neo on the benchmarks and allways with stock SE roms. I don´t like MIUI and even CM7. A good kernel is the key for those snapdragons. The following images are the proof that if we can correct many bugs, this ICS rom will make those Neos fly.
If you like speed, just take a look at the pictures and see for your self what you CAN do with Xperia NEO!

wow ... you must be kidding me !!!
unfortunately i can,t get this on my neo
No I´m not, and I think I could go a bit faster, the only problem is the heat.
I´ve tryed for hours to get a stable system in between the crashes. I´ve made two complete benchmarks and this one was made in the refrigerator... lol.

a frozen neo !!! He He
I´ve made this just to proof that the NEO is a great device, I think the ARC/ S are only better on the screen. I want to wait for a stable ICS and I believe NEO will pull out from the 2900 antutu points with 2.3.4 to 3600 antutu points with 1024 mhz in ICS. And with a good kernel you´ll be able to work fine with 1,4 ghz and 4000 antutu points. By far over some expansive devices.

I also thought so at the first ... but after holding the arc in my hands and comparing it to my neo .... there is a massive difference in screen, looks, sound of the speaker.
but for real world the arc is a so delicte device that get cracked by it self ... WTF?
in terms of performance they are the same...but the neo is a little faster due to the smaller screen.
anyway i lOVE my neo.

So you don´t need to waste your battery and the performance is the same as yours.

they both are snapdragon but they are different chipsets, the x10 runs ona qsd8250 and the play and other newer xperia models run the msm8255.
the msm8255 chipset is easier to overclock plus the newer model xperias have their bootloaders unlocked so better kernels can be implemented, the x10 has not got its bootloader unlocked but bypassed, so even though we have custom kernels we cannot fully take advantage of the hardware

it won't....
newer gen processors have a much wider tolerance.
A desire z can be overclocked from 800mhz to 1.8ghz successfully
The highest our phones will ever be overclocked is around 1267mhz before they reboot automatically.
I wouldn't even suggest leaving it at this for very long, you'll fry your chip

I have a Nexus One that is identical to X10 hardware-wise, including CPU. Its tolerance for OC is about the same. This generation of Snapdragon processor is not capable of huge OCing.

I jst bought x10 for it was having hd camera coz I thought both are same with 1 Ghz proccesser but x10 sucks at games.
Because of great devs I m feeling ok with my x10.

i mean im pretty happy with the x10i, wen i did get it, the best android phones out was this and the htc desire, n i was coming from a satio so i wanted summat with a decent camera. i was new to the android crowd but not to xda as my 3 previous phones were windows mobile ones. im happy cos its been updated to 2.3.3, i dnt do a huge amount of gaming as i know the x10 isnt really the best device for it, with its lack of multitouch and buggy dual touch. buh hey my upgrades due in 6 months and theres gna b some bad ass phones out by then so i dnt mind chilling with my trusty x10, and plus the devs do wonders wit this.
its not the same chipset...
x10 : Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 200 GPU
Arc : Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 205 GPU
now you can see....
Yes, same processor speed, same name Snapdragon but different code make the overclocking difference. lol, if you can overclock it to 1.83GHz, I beg that you phone will not last more than one week, if unlucky, you will hear this sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEtygSs2AEY&feature=related

Battery life and camera isn't all that disappointing.. It would easily last a day if used normally(wifi on all day with background data and auto sync etc) and would last nearly half ID used heavily..
The phone is powerful, and the best if you cant spend a few extra bucks for gs2 or xperia p.. Gs2 being better..
I am having 200+ apps and still no lag or any issue..
The GPU aint very powerful. You wont enjoy HD games if you have many widgets on the home screen..
If you are into gaming, id suggest buy some phone with Adreno220 or better.. Mali-400 sucks..
The floating touch, really helpful in browsing, fun to play around and to show off among friends..
I love my phone, and would not suggest anyone not to buy one.. Its the best in its segment and i enjoy using it..
Just waiting for the ICS could be annoying.. When Jelly Bean is coming to the market..
Rest, is your choice..

Now I cant decide wheather to go for the Arc S or the Sola...
I now have the Atrix 4G which pretty much sucks (it could be better on JB but MOTO isnt going to release JB).
I love the ARMv7 + tegra 2 but no use on GB for a duel core device
So bottom line, Sola or Arc S ?
Dont go for arc s.. Its 2011 modeland thus is very unlikely to get JB..it has single core processor and the only benefit would be larger screen..
It was my first decision when I was buying a phone.. But i waited for sola to be released and i am really thanking my patience..

Doesn't the sola has a slightly worse camera and battery ?
I really need good battery life..
Too bad it doesnt have a front-facing cam, what a shame !
P.s the Sola doesn't have ICS yet and the Arc does. there are plenty of JB roms out there as far as i know...i love both devices but cant decide :<
Go for Sola.It has dual core CPU, and Mali 400.
Its very fluid to use.I do like Sola, but not the battery life.
By constant usage, I mean continuous 3g usage(not background) or gaming.
Sola will get ICS this month.

Ps: The GPU for Sola is Mali400, not Mali400MP4 like in the Galaxy S2, this means Sola's GPU only have 1 core, the S2 has 4 cores. But SOLA's still better than the iPhone 4 and 3GS's Powervr SGX 535.

Typing is a bit hard, but if u use Go Keyboard you can type easier. Xperia U is also NXT Series
Floating Touch is only inch's range between finger and screen.
So the conclusion, both phone (xperia u and xperia sola) have "his" pros and cons.

Arc s came out over a year ago when single core was considered high end especially with 1.4 ghz

Yes but arc as had not best version of duclcore, the worst dualcore vaivable it had. but speedy enough......
its all todo with what the company has to offer at the time.
at the time of release the ARC S even though there where faster phones on the market made by other companys for sony it was there highend device.
the Sola when released there was better spec models made by sony so it became a mid range device.
and yes website say the arc s is a highend device they really should say WAS
my first pc from tiny was a highend computer (intel pentuim 1.6) but my computer now is a quad core and class as a midrange device (not made by tiny )...
Im sure soneone will say im wrong but that the way i look and understand classing of phones.......oh and the bloody price

Arc s is an overclocked arc and arc has same hardware as xperia play. I switched from an 1.4 ghz overclocked xperia play to xperia sola and the performence differnce is quite impressive. Espeacialy HD games like gta3 run much better on the sola. Also Browser and UI is way faster, benchmark results are also way better.

Hey guys , thanks for clicking the thread. So thanks to you guys at XDA developers i managed to root my phone and unlock my boot loader on ics . So i downloaded this app called no frills CPU and i overclocked my phone to 1.8ghz .

governor: smartassv2 ( also tried on demandX and others ...)
I/O: noop

I've seen on YouTube etc people getting more than 2000 and some exceeding 4000. So just wondering why it is so low. DO i need to install custom roms to make it more faster? i did some searching about but i still dont get how people get such high scores. since i have overclocked my phone seems a bit more responsive but i have not seen a mega boost in speed any help?

Ok is cool but dont blaim it on us if your devices is explode, crashed, harmed or anything else and you device is no dualcore to overclock it to 1.8ghz, its just a singlecore with 1ghz.
# its all your own risk #
P.s
+1 for Madfysh
Indeed why you ask us if you still do it?
Kinda useless to create a new thread then :/

Mate,a suggestion :
First of all ask such questions in General chat thread
Next,1.8 for normal use is like Frying your phone
Reduce to 1.4 for normal use,
And lastly, people who've replied are experienced guys and know what they are doin and when they suggest,I wouldn't like to go against and be a dumbass
There's a reason why people tell you not to Oc your phone of normal 1gHz to 1.8gHz !
Think it yourself n read more!
You'll figure it out sooner than later

Hey guys , thanks for clicking the thread. So thanks to you guys at XDA developers i managed to root my phone and unlock my boot loader on ics . So i downloaded this app called no frills CPU and i overclocked my phone to 1.8ghz .
The settings on no frill where:
max 1,8 min 1,8
governor: smartassv2 ( also tried on demandX and others ...)
I/O: noop
. I am on the stock ICS rom and i think i have doom lords kernel installed . So any ideas why the quadrant score is around 1400? .
