its aknown bug
This was a bug with the original Transformer as well. It took a few firmware updates but ASUS fixed it eventually. My guess is it will work in ICS.

I reported this also, was also told it was a known HC bug.
BTW, this stuff is also very kernel related. I ran into this on other kernels when rooted. If the function is not built into the kernel, you will only ever system the basic system data and never any apps.
Now, the thing that should be cool is that ICS has a real bad ass battery monitoring upgrade that they thought was so neat, they even took time to show it off at their ICS press conference a few months back. It is slick and like the current system but on steroids and far more advanced, all we can hope is that the Asus's kernel can handle it as it IS a function in ICS.
It works on 8.8.3.33

Nope, it doesn't.
When in the settings and looking at the grayish chart that has "XX On Battery" click that and expand the full chart and under that you will see only system processes listed but what you SHOULD see are system process and all your apps.
Still not fixed with ICS...
Asus did not roll the function into the kernel.. It is not broke, not busted, they just did not do it.

Wrong. I will say here what I said in the other thread where you said that... This function, minimal minimal power draw. So much so, many ROM makers and kernel makers are sure to add this function in their work as it is so valuable, the same guys that do everything to eek out battery life and minimize resource use to make the best releases keep this function or cook it into their releases. And furthermore, according to previous TF owners, Asus added this in at a later update so it would correctly report. I would love to know where you officially read that Asus purposefully did not cook this into their kernel to "save battery".
In the other thread I also provided a screenshot of this function working correctly in ICS
This thread has a lot more data and screenshots

Hello guys
Being a long time member, and having rooted many of my devices before (Xoom, HTC Sensation etc) I have seen complaints like people are posting where some here are experiencing no battery/rebooting issues(like me) while others are experiencing the opposite. The first thing that any experienced developer here on XDA would tell you is that something went wrong when updating to the new .13 update, which is why some are experiencing problems, while others are not. It does not make sense that a good majority of us, have no issues...if the new .13 update was bad/faulty, then it would affect all of us, not just some. I would highly recommend that people with issues reformat/start from scratch, as this has helped others with similar issues. If this does not help, then unfortunately you just experience a bad update, which of course the only fix would be is to try to reinstall the update (easy to do if rooted) or wait for a new update from Asus.
Also, if your battery is dying quickly, check to see if it is warm to the touch even if you are not using it. If so, then this would definitely point to an app trying to do something in the background without your knowledge..maybe there is an app trying to sync but your wifi is off, or an app that you installed that does not play nice with ICS. I would suggest that those with problems can list their installed apps, and those without issues can see if they have any of the apps on their devices...this can help narrow the issue down and hopefully find the culprit.
Thanx

All fair points, but many people suspect that there are at least two batches of Primes floating around with different hardware. After all, even before this update, there were groups of people that had freezes and reboots and others who had none.
Another telling point is that as far as I can tell, .13 update completely fixed Primes that were previously having sleep of death and reboot problems, and caused sleep of death, reboot and battery problems only on Primes that were previously working fine. This also suggests two different hardware sets to me (e.g., they tested the .13 update only/mostly on the set of Primes that had previous problems).
the bad update/ flash/ application as a culprit to all the Primes problems went out the window long ago this is all horse**** the problem is with the tegra3 in some way and different hardware variances in X Prime vs B Prime vs Z Prime etc....etc...etc...

But that doesn't make sense either, because I had no rebooting issues before and no battery issues after updating to .13.
What we need here is hard data evidence from something such as a battery/hardware/resource monitor, which I have not seen from anyone with battery issues.
I don't have the issue so there is really nothing for me to monitor and gather data from.
Just had this issue pop up. Was using my Prime this morning on the charger, closed the screen (have the dock) pulled the plug put it in my bag for the day. Went to class, and then to work pulled it out at 6pm to check out a new note taking app and found my Prime to be HOT, like I left in in the car on a sunny day hot. Opened it up and it wouldn't come to life, held the on/off till it "shut off" then powered it back on. Battery life is 80% prime 14% dock. As requested my apps are as follows.

If your TFP is hot it could be an indication that the processor is running something and causing heat.
Try an app like SystemPanel to monitor resource usage. You may have to get the paid version in order to track app resource usage history
https://market.android.com/details?id=nextapp.systempanel
Here is another good website to find other apps to monitor usage and find out what exactly is using your battery.

Have people experiencing the issues gotten the OTA or did they do the update via file where you system partition is formatted? Wonder if some file(s) didn't get updated properly via OTA but work fine via .zip update.

That's actually a pretty good question! Along with posting a list of apps...thinking a widget is trying to sync constantly?? Also, have you guys checked your app intervals...too many apps syncing at a low interval will kill your battery
I couldn't do the OTA, so I had to do the wipe and full install from .zip

Although I didn't suffer from issues here ln battery, after hearing about it, I went in and changed all intervals and cut off anything unnecessary. I especially made sure to raise email interval. As that's the thing that goes off the most. When it does it also causes the audio to go off constantly. So far I've been getting even better battery life than before in deep sleep. Actually very impressed how lil energy is used while in deep sleep. Before o took my screenshot and used tablet, it was in deep sleep for over 7-8hrs. And didn't budge from 100%. That's pretty impressive.

Yes! My wifi signal strength matches my Moto Xoom, I haven't had one reboot..GPS is weak but I honestly didn't buy the tab for that (Ipad users don't have it, but who cares its not a navigation device) . My 1080p movie playback is flawless, colors are rich. This is truly a sexy, powerful beast of a tablet! I'm sure that we all can agree on that...I'm sure that Asus will work out the kinks that some are having soon.
Everywhere I go, even Ipad owners love the way this Tablet looks, especially the screen display

Yeah, I'm wondering if people have their update intervals low an the system is constantly trying to update apps in the background?? This would explain the warm/hot backs of the Primes by the batteries for some
The battery, sleep of death and random reboot IT IS CAUSE BY THE NEW OTA .13
i have factory restore 3 times no app install, same problem
i have push the OTA .13 MANUALLY TWICE same problem without installing app.
there's no way to get around this, only a new firmware fix or backflash to .11 only solution for us having problem with this new .13

Why are any users experiencing the range of issues this tablet is presenting while others are not? We have 3-5 major bugs that are sporadically scattered across a wide range of serial numbers. I believe its downright obvious that TFPs have a variation in hardware quality and/or quality control issues. It's fracking embarrassing. To say that only some people are having this battery issue just continues to follow the trend that has been ASUS the past 3 months.

Im guessing the reason for most of these problems is going from HC to ICS without a full wipe.
I have flashed thousands of roms on my devices since Windows Mobile 6.1 and when portion of people have issues they are told to check md5 sums and full wipe.
A little from column a and a little from column b perhaps.

This.
I had no sleep of death problem until the update, and it's ridiculous how fast it's burning through battery now.
My prime does not show this and it has been the same case since .11, .14 and .15?
Does anyone else have this issue? My gingerbread evo 3D shows a break down of what is using up battery but not my Prime.....funny
I think that both "Battery Monitor Widget" by 3C and Badass Battery Monitor by GSam Labs will give you the info you want
thanks, but i just want to find out if it is a bug with the Prime or if it is only me
I can't see it either, sad it bothers me too. I'm guessing those widgets have to be present and running on a homescreen? I'd rather not clutter up my desktops with them. :-\
It's a really, really known issue and by now probably the last item on ASUS's fix it list .

Try uninstalling Maps and rebooting your phone. Then go to playstore and reinstall it.

If you want to try another flavor of ROM based off of ICS 4.04, AOKP MIlestone 6, try this:
RandomKing's RandomROM Falcon v 1.3
I like it and would not have known about it except that it showed up as a compatible ROM in GooManager.
NOTE!: I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER, NOR CAN I ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT IT. I'M JUST INFORMING THE COMMUNITY IT EXISTS.
I found it the same way and have been using it myself for about a week now . no problems the only thing i changed were the e-mail and contacts back to standard rather than inverted black and white . plus i like the ability to have sound with my boot animation an option that is not available with the regular Nightly or the AOKP&CM9Remix by SGA .
How does it compare to the other roms in term of smoothness and performance?
Just flashed this rom and I'm liking it.
Trebuchet should be taken out though if Nova launcher is included.
Ran AnTuTu OCd @ 1.78ghz and got a score of 7317 and the highest FPS on the men in armour was 57fps
After having the various CM9 nightlies I am trying out the 1.1 version of this ROM. So far so good... seems pretty snappy. I haven't found anything that doesn't work so far. I chose Nova as the default launcher (seemed to have come with Nova pre-installed?).
Question... how do you change the default email color scheme. Its hard to read. Thanks!

Give this ZIP a try in TWRP/CWM:
http://db.tt/Dp221gce
It's a universal inverted Gapps that I use in most of the ROMs I install on the TP. If need be, you could always extract the gmail APK from the ZIP and push it to /system (after changing permissions, of course).
Let me know if this helps you out - I'm curious about this build - and I would like to give it a go, too.

Thanks! The universal inverted GAPPs works great and solved the problem. Many thanks.
Btw, so far I have been able to run all apps I would before using the CM nightlies including youtube , Netflix. No lag at all between screens and everything things to work as fast as before. I believe the dev focuses on battery length but so far it seems to last about the same as my experience with most of the more recent nightlies. Unfortunately wifi is also about what I experienced under CM9 (and weaker than webOS).
I will stay with this a while and see if it continues to be problem free and if any apps have a prob under the new ROM.
Again, thanks for your help, and let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Goo is a decent website, and you can go to my space to download. Goo Manager can tell you when a new version is released, which I find pretty useful. 1.1 is currently the newest version, and I've finally updated the website to reflect the proper link. I agree, Goo Manager itself is a little slow and its easier to download straight from the site. I will not provide support outside of my page for this particular rom, but seeing more than 250 downloads on the latest version, I will continue to improve the rom whenever I can.

I gave this try and found out compared to cm9 9/30th it does have a higher battery drain while asleep.. ~-800 vs -45 avg
Both roms connect to my WiFi 5ghz
Other than that the rom seems decent to use if you don't mine the heavy battery drain.
Understand that I clear everything after I made my backup to try the rom, so to say it was on a nearly clean install.

Interesting. I just checked mine and while asleep mine ranged from a low of -43 mA to to an outlier high of -74 mA, and most of the between -46mA and -48mA. Once I wake it up it varies greatly... -122mA to -820mA, but I am guessing that is dependent on what I am doing (I was watching a lot of Clapton and Knopfler YouTubes) . Are these numbers more in line with what you were thinking RandomKing? Any other battery stat I can provide that might help?

Using Battery Monitor app. When I switch to %/hr state it appears to fluctuate between 0% to under 2% loss/hr. I'd guess it would average to around 1% per hour.
Btw I am pretty happy with battery on this ROM, not as good as webOS and definitely less than iOS but pretty good for Android and I think better than CM9. Now, if I could somehow I improve my wifi I'd be golden...

One thing to check, under wifi > advanced > wifi on all the time only when plugged in. Another easy and cheap fix is downloading RootDim from Play Store, which allows you to lower screen brightness way lower than stock. The TP has a very bright display so lowering it down to below 25% is still plenty bright. There are lots of other battery tweeks I am sure including apps that automate the process but the two I suggested are easy. Hope this helps!

Hi
I have 2 tablets Acer and HP, using Wi-Fi analyiIer I am getting an good Signal of -55db pretty much on both. But the speed is around 75% or more slower through the Asus ,do you know why when both are getting a good Signal.
Finally while typing this the cursor seems to have a mind of its own are there some that I can/should change?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I have the same problem with wifi. Alright range, but speed is very low. I fixed it by opening it up and putting tinfoil between the screen and wifi PCB's.
For the typing issue, try disabling the touchpad using one of the buttons at the very top of the keyboard.

Try this for your wifi - it really does work - mine is attached inside my external case and works really well.
Good luck

To begin with I do not know how the TF201 calculates signal strength. There are 2 factors that have to be addressed the signal strength (how loud you can shout) and the signal quality (how clear are your words). So a drunk can sing as loud as he can but nobody knows what
he's singing so he sings again. In other words if the signal quality is poor the data gets requested again and again.
And I haven't mentioned TF201 transmissions also are part of the "signal"

Thanks I'm a bit nervous about opening it as it's still under warranty.
Re typing this was happening when not attached to the dock but using Tapatalk and removing some of the prediction options seems to have sorted it. (I think it was only happening when trying to reply on this forum using a Web browser)

Thanks I assume you are still opening the tablet to make the relevant connection.

I am not really sure what you're saying. I am using Wi-Fi Analyzer to determine signal strength and speed . net to get upload and download speeds.

I think the link he sent you was for the "beer can method" ugly but effective. not as effective as taking it apart, but passable. It does not require taking apart.
Well I've just tried the "Beer can method" and it works brilliantly my speed quadrupled to the same as I get on my laptop and HP Touchpad. Now to try and make it look nice
So thank you everybody for replying and peterk-1 it's now singing very nicely.
