Yeah, I had a similar reaction when I noticed it still had a physical home button. I really like the idea of soft keys.

With some typos (200MHz), here's more info from Sammobile: http://www.sammobile.com/2012/01/03/samsung-announces-galaxy-ace-plus/
What's stupid is no ICS on release. Why oh why bother with GB still?

You're right. ARM11 and Cortex A8 makes a huge difference in processing speed, but there's hope. Let's hope it's the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 with Adreno 205.

looks more like a galaxy s without the good screen, probably even for the same price when it comes out... why samsung why?
i learned two things from my galaxy ace: never buy low-midrange android phones and never buy samsung again. if you go for a galaxy s at least you get tons of custom roms and you don't have to wait for samsung to fix all the bugs which doesn't happen anyways or one year too late (looking at SOD).

I think Samsung just like having a zillion SKUs in supply so they can flood the competition out.
I'd expect you could get a SGS for 300 euros when the Ace+ arrives. You can buy one now for £245 or 320 euros from French sites.
Waste of development time

Am going to get Sensation XE soon , it has 1.5 dual core processor , adreno 220 gpu and 768 mb ram.
Now the question is tat wether 768 ram wud be enough for me to play HD games...will the games lag a lot on this phone ?
I think it's beyond enough. Period.
Curious, Sensation XE isnt cheap at all, why you choose that instead of other devices?
I think something like Atrix, Optimus 2X, Evo 3D lies on the same level with it right?
Atrix and Optimus 2X both benefits from the newer Cortex A9 and Atrix has a even higher 1Gb Ram, while Evo 3D same processor with XE, alongside with a massive 1Gb Ram too. AFAIK, that 300Mhz wont be a big difference in gaming.
768 is the perfect amount imo, I owned an incredible s and that was what it had, and I could never get it to run out of ram, especially once I put cyanogenmod on it.
To tell you the truth, you would never notice a difference between 768mb and 1gb.

the more RAM the better!
What i meant about the psp is that its not only about the amount of ram, its about how is used.
Though is great to have that much ram, if used poorly(crappy apps, etc) i would suck as a 128

just searched and it "tombstones" apps, task switching so it doesn't need much memory for that.
App switching is a lot different from multitasking
Multitask: multiple applications running at the same time
Task switch: leaving an app open in idle state while u open a new one
Am i right? If so then the second doesnt need much ram at first but consumes more ram over time(i think, i dont really reasearch, i just talk on experience or other things ive heard)

yeah it basically dehydrated it so it is esentially using no memory.
Puts it into a state and just remembers the state.
It isn't actually running multiple apps simultaneously.
For an example, I took dehydrate apps off of my wp7 and with 5 graphic intensive games open it only gets to 30 Mb peak memory usage haha
That is closer to TRUE multitasking then dehydrating apps is as well.

well TRUE multitasking has its benefits too..
Taking off "dehydrate on pause" made it act the same though imo, It acts just like true multitasking it just freezes the app and starts right where it was instantly.
There is a five app limit though.

i've been using JoelZ's unofficial cm9 all day and if you don't mind not having a camera, it has the potential to be a great daily.
Meh, I need 4G for a daily driver, hence why it feels like development had slowed to a crawl for me.
Anyway, just picked up the AMD FX 8-core for my MAME/media center arcade cabinet. Wonder how high I can clock it with my air cooling setup.

Same. Have had some wifi connectivity issues but other than that everything works. Battery life sucks but that will get better as development progresses. Facebook sync not working is bugging me but I'm assuming that's on FB's side, they need to pick up the slack. I can live without a camera for a short time but since my girlfriend lives in another state currently, camera for video chat is a must.

I understand that it is miles behind the Intel Core iX series, but the fact that I'm using it for emulation in an old arcade machine and the price I paid makes it more then justifiable. Got the CPU, a good motherboard, a Cooler Master radiator, and 2 huge fans for it, all for around $250. I'm using the hard drives, DVD ROM drive, power supply, and old ati x1300 from my old computer (the ASUS motherboard decided to crap its own BIOS out).
Don't ask me why I'm still using an x1300, unless you can find me a true ATI HD 4xxx, I need it to display the 15khz horizontal refresh the arcade monitor needs to sync.

Prices!!
It has been a while since I posted...Boy have I been busy!
I am wondering where did you get your pricing for the Transformer Book tablet/dock?
I think it is in the 1000 range, the 600 range was the Asus Vivo Tab I think.
What do you think, which is the smallest 4core phone out there? Price is not a problem preferably 1gb ram at least, and max 4 inch sized screen.
Love my sola..

Why don't you go for Xperia S,it has quad core and 4.3" screen and better community support.

oops sorry my bad...but i don't s3 fits...cause of the screen size 'cause OP requires upto 4" only....so..
Well I dont think there are 4" quad core Android devices out there so your only option might be iPhone 5.
Use search button next time-_-
AFAIK the only quad core phone under 4 inch display is Meizu MX 4-core

I love mine too, but I used to play some games on my phones, and sola SHOULD be good at gaming because of Mali400, but even nfs mw, asphalt 7 and modern combat 3 lagg, though they run smoothly on my friend's galaxy s2 which has the same Mali400. :/
Go for Nexus 4 bro, great phone.
Meizu MX 4 core is the only 4 inch quad core in market.. Others start from 4.7-6 inches
My opinion - go and buy a big screen device.. Trust me you wil fall in love.. Later you will realise WTF was I doing with a small screen!!..my XP is so small compared to my S3.. I love my S3's display... Get a device with in 4.3-4.7 its not that big as u r thinking...this is the big screen era. Don't fall behind line Apple..

That Galaxy S2 model has a quad-core Mali-400 while the Sola has a single-core Mali-400.
