1. How come my Hboot is different? Mostly hboots that I see are 1.07, 1.10, 1.11.
2. I cant continue to the RECOVERY. It becomes stuck on the image with a red triangle and exclamation point. What should I do next?
3. How can I permanently root it? please guide me to a link...
Thank you very much in advance for the help. I just wanted to enable the gsm call function of my flyer.

Look to the bottom part of the procedure where is tells you what to do if revolutionary fails to flash recovery.
Follow the instructions in the link to install CWM and su.

I'm very sorry Sir globatron but what procedure are you referring to? What specific part of the procedure? Pardon me sir I'm the noobest of the noobs!

Root & recovery

Having gone through the HD Desire who loved and still love, I went to the Samsung galaxy SII for 30 days, make the greatest efforts, but the impression I have is empty. This is because I've always moved with the sense and I found it better launcher, plus the kitchen of the HTC phones are unique for that reason I got on sale and bought the evo sgs2 3d. Whenever I asked for root to those who know htcmanía and this time there is still no comment. I have read in various forums and none made it clear to me as root and put the recovery in the evo 3d gsm, if there is someone who can explain it as a step by step tuto agrdeceré infinitely. Thanks and participate to get the evo is a great smart 3d.
AFTER MUCH ENDED TUTO CHEW
Well finally after much reading I think I can put together this tutorial, I have two evo gsm 3d and it worked wonders,
Step 1: Download the two attached zip and unzip them only the second which is then used the exe, save it for the first zip the end.
Step 2: Run the exe. driver htc (htcdriver3.0.0.007), always with the evo off.
the driver must be downloaded here: http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.p.../revolutionary
Step 3: Connect to EVO and put it in debug configuration from usb
Step 4: Now pay attention. There is a folder called Revolutionary-0.4pre4 decompress and run the exe, black and a window with a number, must copy and close the black window because after returning.
Step 5: The website of Revolutionary box appears Beta Key (need to identify clearly our model) is where should paste the copied number in step 4, and generate the code mother (With Kilombo is this more than mother code is a *****).
http://revolutionary.io/
Step 6: This code must copirlo mother and paste it in the famous black window that I explained that close, now we give to enter.
Step 7: Once the process will ask if you want to install the recovery and put the Y (yes not now what the hell do).
Step 8: Almost ready after restarting the phone and seeing that medium work (ha ha), put the last file in the downloaded folder still do not use the sd memory of the phone, your zip-efgh 2.3.6.3 ...
Step 9: Turn off and turn on Evo down with volume and on, we will now install the file recovery mencinado from sd card file, install and then say later installed. Then finish and give to reboot and finish and we can put the rom you want.
Well I hope to serve and be useful, constructive criticism is heard.

sadly this wont work for HBOOT other than 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008
Mine is HBOOT 1.49.0011, and it doesn't work
It has been released from HTCdev, with "Unlocking Your Bootloader" you can install custom roms, isnt that you want?
Here is the link:
http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
Thanks
No.. i want to root.. S-Off it my device, but since revolutionary 0.4pre4 only work for HBOOT 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008, just waiting and they're still working on it, hopefully ASAP
1.49.0011 <== can't use.
How to do now ?
Please somebody help me. I installed bad kernel, and ROMManager the ends the Clockworks Recovery. Does'nt start the Rom, and I cannot restore it. How it is possible to make the Clockworks Recovery free, and to restore the Rom?
ROMManager allows nothing in the Clockworks Recovery to make.
Thanks.

starts in bootloader and load the rom official with that fix the problem.
Thank you.
My problem was not resolved.
After setting off with a HBOOT fill, fastboot, recovery, and factory reset. I see these. If I select it the fastbootot, bootloader and reboot come, but makes nothing with these. Only steps back. The recovery it's locked (Rom Manager)... HTC HD2, task29 wiped everything, and the replanting was possible. From a computer it's not possible to install the kernel or Rom again?
Mine is HBOOT 1.49.0011
im waiting for it also
i wanted to know that if i S-OFF my htc evo 3d gsm will it leave a watermark or something on the phone letting people know that it was unlocked previously like the nexus one had an unlocked (lock picture) on the boot screen after unlocking its bootloader via adb...

S-OFF can be reversed so that methods not a problem which the Team Revolution unlock method does...but if you use the HTC Bootloader unlocker it will leave evidence and they will know that you did it and you might lose your warranty.
If you have a 1.49.0011 HBOOT, I'd wait until Team Revolution fix it.
Me neither .. waiting for team revolutionary release HBOOT 1.49.00.11
Is there a way to relock and s-on your phone back to the stock? I have a falf screen freeze issue and want to send the phone back to htc for repair.
Cheers!!!!!!!!
Just wondering, I'm S-Off and Rooted already.
If I'm using SystemApp Remover to uninstall some stock program
Rogers - Ringback, wifi calling, etc.....
Will I be available to upgrade the OS via OTA by htc?
Many thanks in advance.~
Serial number...?
I'm not quite sure how I feel about giving my serial number to achieve s-off and root. What malicious activities can be done with this info?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Waiting..
Yeah.. me too waiting to 's-off' for hboot 1.49.0011

[Q] Bricked my flyer

So I’m new to the forums and I searched around and hadn’t seen anyone post this yet. I have managed to royally screw up my wifes flyer. I bought it used and didn’t pay attention to notice that it was s-off with revolution. She went to install the HC ota update and of course got stuck on the HTC white screen. Next the battery died and we were stuck with the blinking amber light. Here’s where I panicked and used what little knowledge I had of rooting to make things worse.
1) Managed to get it to charge via usb and realized it was rooted. I used this thread to turn s-on thinking I could then use an RUU to install the update and get the tab running.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346200
2) I started installing the wrong RUU by accident which over wrote the hboot then errored out.
3) Tried to install the correct RUU but it keeps erroring because of an incorrect hboot
4) Figured WTH and successfully unlocked the hboot using htcdev instructions.
5) Now I’m stuck with a tablet that still won’t make it passed the boot loader.
I’ve read a lot of the questions here and you guys have seemed to work miracles. I’m hoping you can help me.
Pertinent information follows.

Try to relock your bootloader then flash the ruu
Adb wont see your flyer in fastboot.
To relock hboot type in command prompt on pc while flyer is hooked up in fastboot
Fastboot OEM lock
Then try ruu
Then you may have to run ruu again

Thanks for the quick reply mcord I tried running the RUU twice but I'm still stuck. Relocked the boot loader and I'm including that information below. Also, with the RUU I get "ERROR[140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR" Any thoughts?

Find the developer named Globatron on this forum and beg him for help.
I doubt you'll be able to resolve it yourself.
It's a simple enough fix, send me a skype IM and we'll get you fixed up. ( see my profile for contact details )

Mosdtly the same procedure as downgrade from official OTA / Leak, except that it was a GB hboot rather than a HC one.
unock + recovery + misc_version downgrade + RUU.
Had the OP not already unlocked, it would have been HC RUU + no unlock downgrade procedure.
Could really use help with a bricked Flyer!
Hi all,
I'm stuck with what seems to be a truely bricked flyer.
After doing the HTC unlock a few weeks back on my 3G Flyer I tried to Install cutom recovery from here.
Installation seemed to work and then I tried to go into recovery immediately from the bootloader and that's when my Flyer got stuck on the white screen until battery ran out and now it won't charge and only flashes the red LED when I plug it in.
I have done a lot of research around XDA and other websites the past few days and considering now to try and take the flyer apart to disconnect the battery and see if that helps.
Would really appreciate any advice or help!!
Hi, I had the same problem, Could you please, please give me the method to fix it!
I did all but "misc_version downgrade"
Ihave a very slow internet connection, thus cannot use skype!
Thank you very much!
SOLVED! by creating a Goldcard!
I have searched around and have had no luck in finding the correct ruu. I tried a few different posts but have had no luck in finding a way to find your ruu without fastboot. Any ideas would be helpful!

Block on Revolutionary

Hi,
I was using desensified rom but wanted to roll back to gingerbread
So I have followed the thread "downgrade to GB" by downloading and isntalling the RUU (while tablet running). Process went well but at restart the tablet hold on white screen with green htc logo
Tried several times to re-run the RUU in fastboot mode but I dont have enough battery. I have seen post saying that my hboot and recovery are incompatible and so the battery cannot charge.
When I have going into recovery, I saw (quickly) messages saying that PG41DIAG or PG41IMG.zip or nbh are missing or wrong file.
I tried to flash boot.img, recovery.img (the one from desensified), cwm.img... but nothing seems to happen on the tablet and back with revolutionary recovery.
When I select "£recovery" from revolutionary menu the tablet goes back to white screen with gree logo so I cannot flash anything from teh SD card.
On the recovery screen I have:
FLYER PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 6.11.1111
MICROP 0850
Radio 3809.05.0401.04 (Although I used the RUU 405 based on my CID, still showing 405 when I am doing getvar CID but I am not sure that this 401 is linked to CID)
Can anybody help me? I guess I need to install a proper hboot / recovery in order to flash for SDcard or through fastboot.
Thanks
Sebastien

What do you mean 'power of dual boot'?
It works ok?
Dual/multi boot even works with S-ON if you are using Sense based ROMs with stock or VM kernel.....

OK, you download all tool in here : http://www.mediafire.com/?981bdysbndzcj
It has 4 file.
Please read entire my word by word carefully before carry out. If need you should read many many time.
First you search how use wiretrick to S-Off
And open your case of your phone to ready to do wiretrick.
Step 1 : Unzip all zip file
Step 2 : download my attached file, then copy overwrite to folder Shell Root Tool v7.9 (not v3.0),(file name : shell_root).
Step 3 : Run Shell_Root.bat, choose 1 (to root), and do follow instruction.
After this step your screen will black. (Don't worry
Step 4 : Install JuopunutBear hboot and S-Off
open folder EVO_3D_S-OFF_Helper_v1.2
Extract ControlBearRelease_shooterk_ICS_WIN_NOHTCDEV in folder tool\zip
And run ControlBear and do follow instruction
This step is called 'wiretrick'.
My experience in do wiretrick is just : tap tap wire twice into slot SDcard.
(I do this step many many time because i havent experience)
If appear error, no worry, just run ControlBear again to do wiretrick
After this step your phone is S-Off and JuopunutBear (similar unlock your bootloader):good:
If you have hboot JuopunutBear, you no need to unlock bootloader in htcdev.
Note : your phone isn't root, simple search root 3d evo (i don't root my phone, i install custom rom with root already)
Step 5 : install CMW to install custom rom you want.
open root tool v3.0
run root , choose xx to install.
After that boot in hboot page and choose factory reset (to fix black screen)
Then boot in recovery to backup system.
you search custom rom evo 3d to download and put it in sdcard and choose install zip from sdcard and enjoy.
ex :http://alchemistar.blogspot.com/2011/08/new-htc-evo-3d-cdma-custom-rom-list.html
ok That's it.

For the past few days I performed the "wire trick" more than 60 times and still no s-off.I know that the HBOOT 1.63 is not well known among other EVO 3D users cause it's available only on this SHOOTER_K model ,but it seams that something is not going well with this HBOOT version or the board itself.
First I tried from Windows 7 x64 and things did not work, then I tried from XP 32bit mashine ...still no success ,then I installed Ubuntu 32 and ..again no success... I've got obsessed by this wired security unlock procedure.I did 1.5 sec delay tap, then 1.7 sec delay tap and always seems like really nothing happens except that the phone reboots and the ControlBear connects and loops all the commands again and again or the phone just goes in qualcom download mode .I've got my SD card wiped many times and reformatted as it was error message "no SD CARD "
I've researched many blogs and wikis for alternative methods but it seams that no other options are available at present time.
the best source was http://htcsoku.info/htcsokudev-news/au-shooter-k-s-off-howto/ but my Japanese reading capabilities are very poor so my friend Google translate did a decent job for me
Anyway.. I'll keep diggin'
thanks

Hi!
I recently got a Japanese HTC EVO 3D from AU KKDI. I would like to root it because I need to set a university proxy so my apps will connect to the internet, and not just the browser.
This being said, it is my first android phone am I am a total noob... I searched a lot and finally came to this post which seems the right place.
I read all the explanation of Bttruc, downloaded all the files and although it seems quite complicated for me, I am willing to give it a try. Just got some questions:
1) I guess I can't do the process from a Mac (I have virtual box with windows though)
2) From all the roms of the other site, which one shall I select? I found also in this forums this rom from the previous version of the phone, the evo wimax, also from AU KDDI company,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702789
but not sure if would work on the EVO 3D.
3) I also found this guide but not sure if would work with my japanese evo 3d. http://theunlockr.com/2012/10/11/how-to-root-the-htc-evo-3d-cdma/
Bttruc seems better anyway, but just in case.
Any help/guidance or comments from people who have experience trying the same would be very much appreciated m(. .)m
Thank you!

I have this: d-h.st/SUc version of TWRP installed (2.6.3.0).
I was following this video: youtube: v=OANqKp0tguE
After the ROM and GAPP installed I rebooted the phone and then the "HTC quietly brilliant" white logo screen looped infinitely.
Other things tried:
At some point after I got back into TWRP recovery I hit factory reset which wiped my SDCard and made it unmountable.
I fixed the unmount issue by formatting the drive on my computer (Win7 x64). I, again, loaded the CM11 Kitkat and the GAPPS back on the SDCard and tried to re-install it.
It seemed to install successfully but it said at the end "Unable to mount to '/cache' ".
Rebooted, infinite boot loop again. Went back in to recovery and wiped.
Found the stock rooted ROM, installed, and booted back in to the default OS.
So my questions is, how do I install Kitkat properly to the device? Or any custom ROM? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
You have to install the kernel separately from the ROM since you're S-on. Hit the top link in my sig for more info. Also, make sure you're using the right recovery (the one posted in the CM11 thread, not on the TWRP site).
You should look at using the Rumrunner method to gain S-off on your phone.

Wow that first link is so informative! Thank you
Is there a significant risk of turning s-on to off? Does it make loading ROMs easier if I have S-Off?
I assume with my version I can only use rumrunner?

You're welcome
"Significant risk" no. Risk, yes, but then again there is risk in everything in life. A little research and knowledge will help you have a better understanding of S-off versus S-on. It makes ROM flashing very simple, as all you have to do when S-off is flash the ROM zip once and that's it-no fooling with flashing the kernel separately, among other things. It allows a multitude of other things, also.
To answer your last question, yes, Rumrunner is the method you'll need to use being on the latest Hboot/firmware version.

I got rumrunner installed and working, tried installing CM11 Kitkat and everything went smooth and simple. Thank you!
You mentioned something about the TWRP, how do I know which version to get?
Use the version posted in the OP for the CM 11 thread.
