Roots both versions currently out. Also, won't be released until the 12th to assure root of ICS.
See the twitter above. Love the Mexican food names

Damn, my work says "Social Networking" is not permitted.
So it works on the newer firmware? I don't understand though. If the bootloader was encrypted how does this actually work? This means we can use apps that require root but still wouldn't be able to have s-off for flashing kernels and things right?
Relax and wait for bootloader unlock tool coming in days.

Oh I see. Even though the tool would unlock the bootloader we still needed to find a way to root the device.
Thanks.

Why is this post so far down the page already, can we get a temp sticky.
First an unlocked bootloader and now root!
Today is a joyous day, joyous indeed!
So to translate for the 'older, more prone to senility crowd', can someone explain nachoroot? Is this a person, place, or thing? Please and thank you.
Nachoroot is apparently a program to root the prime. Looks like some guys on twitter created it and have rootedthe prime with it. They tested on .27 and now are testing on .33 which is the latest OTA so we just have to wait and see if it works.
---------- Post added at 12:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 PM ----------
And now they have apparently been successful with .33, I'd suggest following the twitter of viperboy that's linked a few posts up.
Thanks. That's exactly how I interpreted the post but when I googled 'nachoroot' I didn't find anything.

wont be released until ICS
Fair enough, but the greater point still stands - ICS or not - that root took on both versions of the firmware running and that bodes well for future rootness for the Prime.
TeamAndIRC aka Jcase is the f'ing man... he's done so much for the Android community, he released a detailed explanation of how to root the Thunderbolt (my phone) and now he's rooted the Transformer Prime (my future tab, which is currently on the UPS truck... Hurry up already!) Awesome news!

NachoRoot is a root for the prime I wrote this morning, I've been asked by a few of the transformer devs to wait on releasing until the 12th, due to a supposed update coming
Side Note:
BurritoRoot is just for the kindle, its not the same as nachoroot (asus) nor tacoroot (htc).

Well done. Never any doubt it could be done and would be done, just who would do it
No way ICS could alter the root ability, correct?

It's not on the unlockable device list, but it may be in the near future.
We can sit around and wait for Motorola to do it. Or we could all sign an online petition and show them how big the community is, and how much business they'll loose if they don't unlock bootloaders!

I need about 3 - 4 unlock_code.bins. I want to see if I can find a pattern. Also, PM me your IMEI number (or ESN if it doesnt have an IMEI). I want to see if I can find a pattern or anything. Don't get your hopes up. Just wanna see if I can find something matching or not.
Also, if you are willing to post your unlock token, MAKE SURE TO PM ME, DO NOT PUBLICLY TYPE YOUR IMEI/ESN!!
UPDATE: I also need the token info when you are the "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" command. I see somewhat of a relation with it.

minor update: The unlock_code.bin are all the same. Now I'm looking for a repetition between the identifiers. This will take some time.

So you posted a link to an app that does not support OP's phone in the free method with only the POSSIBILITY of being able to root with the pro version. Sounds kind of scam like to me.
To the OP: I was trying to find some info on rooting your phone, and though I found stuff for the d160, didn't have any luck with the version you have yet and not sure if the method is compatible because it involves install a custom recovery and sometimes they support more than one device, but often not.

I'm aware of the difference between a Windows app and an app for the phone, but the end result is the same: the phone is clearly not supported in the free version nor any phone that is even similiar, meaning they'd have to try the Pro version to even have a shot. Recommending paid software without letting people know just seems...inappropriate, at best. Glad it worked for your phone, but your phone and the one in question are vastly different.

Is that so? Trying to use a root program not designed for your phone is going to do 1 of 3 things:
Nothing (hopefully)
Bricked
Or leave behind bits of coding that could prevent a proper root access app to work
Let's say it MIGHT work, well, that means the OP has a 50/50 chance of messing up his phone, to some degree, that would involve needing to reinstall the stock operating system. Not likely that the firmware is easy to find, and OP might not be comfortable with trying to fix his phone in that manner. Not odds most people care to bet on.
I think it's great that you want to help, but you should be more careful with advice you are not sure of.

I was like.. Byatch! What a mess! I should have researched this before buying... I looked it up, saw moto e was rootable and looked no further. Sucked in by the deal. Now I can't even return it. I've had it too long. I'm sure no one is even attempting it anymore. Think I might craigslist it for 40 and get me one to have a little fun with. Oh and not only that Tracfone has a site and under their name it says something like, when you have our phones you have the power. Ha! Straight talk just lost a long time customer. And this phone is just bloated out to the max with Google and Motorola CRAP! If someone out there in this mod world have this phone... Get it!!! Hit it hard! We can use this as a lab rat! Is this the Version One Click root you were looking for? This is the updated version.
I found it via this article. Chrome detected the Verizon apk as a virus, but that's probably a false positive. The apk does come from XDA.
Blah blah blah, if you install that, I'm not responsible for nuclear war or bricked phones.
I'd try it tonight, but I need to be up for class/work tomorrow.
I don't have much to lose, although I do love this phone. Right now I use it as a server with VIM via Terminal IDE or as a web server with KSWEB. Although I recently converted an old 1.6GHz N270 Atom netbook to do the same thing, it's much louder and hotter, but way more powerful.
I'm just pissed what StraightTalk did to this phone. It's absolutely amazing, but those bastards had to ruin it.

literally nothing on this page mentions LGUP 1.9
A lot of the stuff I've searched resembles 1.9 around the time of LG G3, maybe scanning their threads you can find someone who uploaded to a mirror.
I'll report back if I can find said download.

True, but keep in mind, version 1.9 was meant for developers at LG, once a while back someone had it on xda, that's why it's hard to find now. But if we find it, a small modification will enable it to root the tmo g6

Was it named LG Flash Tool around then? I've found a 2014 mirror of Flash Tool but once downloaded the exe says LG Flash Tool 2014. Once I'm home I'm going to jump on the laptop and start downloading anything around that timeline and inspect.

The files I posted after yours I opened up and the version numbers are before 1.9.0.1 well, one of them that is. the other failed and I didn't notice till after the fact. I'll keep plugging away though because I once found the dealership program for Volvo thereby sidestepping a $200 hook it up fee. I really hope you're not yanking my chain man lol. or am I the only sad sack that hasn't dumped their g6 yet? lol..

Nah bro I'm right there with you. I really hope this can happen cuz not rooting is a pain
Are we sure anyone has ever used 1.9? I mean outside of LG? The earliest I can find any trace on the internet or youtube is a mega link to LGUP Lab v1.10.
If anyone had used it to achieve root on earlier LG devices, it was never made public. Even links to LG G2 and G3 cite versions later than 1.10.
Damn, I can only find 1.8.1 here http://www.droidviews.com/download-lg-flash-tool-to-flash-kdz-and-tot-firmwares/. Link still looks to be good.
