Just discovered that my prime is almost an index finger off in accuracy around the inner 1" edge of the screen. Causes me to keep missing the search button in the browser, it registers me clicking the bookmark button instead. Help please thanks!
Just received mine today and after the OTA update, the touch calibration was a little hinky. I performed a reset and that seemed to fix it.

I know already a thread about diagonal flickering but this is different.
Screenshots do not show the scramble.
I just upgraded to ICS, now when I am watching videos I will get the following issues: (btw prime is in landscape mode).
a) .5 inch wide column on far left edge of screen scrambled with horizontal lines from top to bottom.
b) during this time the bottom taskbar jitters or shutters slightly by 1cm up and down.
Only way to fix it is to walk away and come back in about 15min, or reboot prime.
I have tried reset, factory defaults. Never had this issue until ICS.
Other then this issue my prime is great.
I had something like issue (a), but I can't reproduce it. It happened to me on HC, while sitting on the bathroom counter. When I picked it up, it went away, came back when I put it down, went away again when I picked it up again, and never happened again. It happened while viewing Gizmodo in a browser that opened via an RSS link in Google Reader.
I would described the lines as dancing ~1/2 inch long lines that were spaced maybe 1/8 inch apart, along the left edge in landscape mode. I didn't have the taskbar moving, but the lines did extend into the taskbar.

I had a similar problem on HC, the unit would also lock up sometimes. I factory reset, didnt let google reinstall all my apps on my account. I just installed my apps slowly waiting to see if caused a problem. I never reinstalled all my apps, so I never did find out which, if any, it was. Its been fine ever since.
This is happening on an HTC Desire Z (A7272) with Android 2.3.3. A few days ago I was unable to input the pattern to unlock my phone. It wasn’t that I was putting in the wrong code or anything. The problem is as my finger slides over the pattern “buttons” the bottom three buttons don’t register. It is not that the bottom portion of the touchscreen is dead. It shows a green line connecting to the tip of my finger through the button. It just won’t turn the button green (or red for that matter).
I performed a complete factory reset today. It didn’t fix the problem. The only way for me to unlock it is to slide the keyboard out and have the pattern screen turn sideways. It then allows me to input the pattern. I took a photo of what is happening and attached it to this post. It shows that my finger has slid from the top center button, through the center button and over the bottom button. You can see the green line there, but the button itself doesn’t register it. I have also recalibrated the touchscreen after the factory reset. I’m out of ideas. There was no obvious cause of damage or anything (like dropping it). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all, i received my Verizon Galaxy Edge on friday and the phone is perfect, but i'm having a issue. I've looked everywhere to see if others are having the same issue as me but nothing, zip, nada.
The issue im having is with the touch screen, lets just say i'm texting, i normally keep my left thumb near the volume down button, kinda touching the edge screen but not really much, well im texting and sometimes i dont have to be pressing the keyboard, but its the issue with the left edge screen, it's making it press in the center where my thumb would be. i've turned on to show my input presses and all that and its confirmed the center of the screen touch input when i'm only touching the edge. any help or issues? does this sound more of a hardware defect or a software defect?
This is weird. I'm kinda having the same problem, but not "frequently". I wonder if other people do. I think it has to do with our palm/fingers accidentally for a short period of time so it registers as a touch, then if you were already touching somewhere else then it'd mess up and register the touch in a random place, but I'm not sure. For me it isn't in the centre but it's annoying when it happens.
Well its not all the time dead center, but yeah its annoying. We might have same issue
an update, today i was typing on facebook and i noticed my right thumb was kind of near the L key but it was recognizing presses with my other hand without touching the screen (heat presses) tried to get the video but it went back to normal 5 seconds after the video, will record when it happens again.

Hello,
Long time lurker here and was hoping for some advice/ suggestions.
I have a Canadian S9 Plus (on Bell Mobility) and noticed the following issues/ annoyances:
1) When the phone is woken up (e.g. pressing the virtual home button, plugged into charger, new text message received, etc.), the screen would turn on, continuously look for fingerprints ("Wipe the fingerprint sensor and try again" message would keep flashing) and would not shut off until I press the power button to turn off the screen
2) The fingerprint sensor generally works (e.g. unlocks the phone, swipes to drop down notification window), HOWEVER it does not work to unlock the phone if the phone has been sleeping for more than a few minutes (nothing happens no matter which direction I swipe/ press the fingerprint sensor). When I try to unlock the phone, I will have to press the power button to wake up the phone then swipe the fingerprint sensor. This may be a standard feature, but after pressing the power button to wake up the screen I will always get a message that says "The fingerprint sensor may be dirty. Clean it and try again.". Again the fingerprint sensor otherwise works so cleanliness of the sensor isn't really an issue here.
Has this happened to anyone's phone? I tried clearing cache/ resetting app preferences/ factory resetting the phone multiple times but with no luck. I also called Samsung but the conversation didn't go anywhere.
Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!
Have not had that issue with mine.
Do you have the finger sensor gesture on?

Tried both finger gesture on and off - no difference with the same issues persisting :crying:
this is the exact issue im facing when i got my s9+, i also thought that it was a factory defect. but luckily recently it didnt came up again and i did nothing. but still continuing monitoring the issue as it is really so bothersome.
Sounds like a defect to me. I'd exchange it.
I have not had any issues. Have you tried re-scanning your fingers? I noticed that this finger print scanner is different from the one on my LG V20. It feels different, and seems to operate different. It's also a little smaller which makes me have to position my fingers different.
I also read the instructions wrong.. I was supposed to swipe my finger during the setup. I was pressing it down. Either way mine works great.
Same issue here, did you manage to solve it?

Not at all - I ended up returning it. Any luck on your end?
Maybe try registering your finger/s with and without a case on. See what happens.
Same issue here. This is the one thing that really bugs me about this phone.
Hello all,
my Stratos 2 (A1619) is about 5 days old. I downloaded the most recent official Firmware suggested by the smartphone app (2.3.4.0). Still everything was fine. After installing a lot of watchfaces I experienced problems similar to Youtube 4zQLNsVWvvc (sorry I am not allowed to post external links).
It was not only the screen jumping around but also touchscreen buttons seemed to be pressed repeatedly ("ghostpresses" - like one would press e.g. once a second on the middle of the screen).
I unbound the watch, rebound it, did a factory reset, bound it again. Another factory reset without restoring data and finally it came almost back to normal - except this problem:
If there is a button on the right lower part of the screen like e.g. the purple "nut" button for settings or the "Stop" button of the stopwatch it is extremely hard to hit. The buttons next to these on the right (e.g. "brightness" resp. "Lap/Reset)" are easy to hit.
The touchscreen in general seems to be O.K. because swiping works perfectly fine - even in the right lower corner. Only the buttons there are extremely hard to hit. Maybe one of twenty tries works.
Initially all buttons worked perfectly - so I don't think that it is a hardware problem.
Did someone experience similar problems resp. is there a solution like e.g.:
- increasing the sensitive "size" of the buttons
- recalibrate/reset the touchscreen
Maybe there is an algorithm, that automatically calibrates (learns) the buttons from the presses that got crazy during the "ghostpress" phase?
Probably it's a hardware problem, it's too new (the only other thing that would cause ghost presses are dirty screens, but I don't think it's the case), you should replace it under warranty as soon as possible.
I have a similar problem with my left corner touchscreen buttons.
Here is the result of my hardware secret menu for the lcd screen of stratos.
