Hello,
I tried the TOUCH 3.0, but after it gets to 1% update, the htc reboots and on the pc it says "image is corrupt, please check your updater utility" I have re-downloaded the touch and same thing happens, any help?
Thanks
You are probably going to get flamed for not searching, but I believe that means your phone isn't unlocked. If you haven't used Olipro's unlocker do that then retry the update. His unlocker isn't the same as sim unlocking just in case you didn't know. Good luck to you.
I did do search and I did come up with what you are saying that the phone is not unlocked, but it is unlocked, and I purchased it as an unlock phone, this is why I am stuck. So any help would be much appreciated.
From what I understand and read is that there are two unlocks that your phone needs. Sim unlock which is what your phone has and I believe IMEI unlock which it doesn't. Olipro's unlocker will take care of that. Using the unlocker either way is just a safe bet for making sure everything works well with your device.

you device needs to be cid unlocked not sim. Goto athena thread and dow nload unlocker from there. Use step one to unlock then you will be able to use this rom.
Trying to unlock my Rezound through HTCDev. I have tried a dozen times following directions and rechecking directions and then rechecking them again. This is what I get:
Error Code: 173.
Error Reason: Check Rule Fail with exception
any idea what causes that error code? I tried to research it but the only mentions of it seem to be from today which makes me wonder if it could be a problem with the website.

Same issue here

I'm having the same problem as well, also on a Rezound. I second the "problem with the web site" theory.
check my twitter. i am talking to them through there about it.

I'm currently getting this error too when trying to unlock an evo 3d. It must be a website issue.

I'm also having the same problem while trying to unlock my Wildfire S. I hope is a website problem.
Same problem on a rezound
I've been experiencing the same problem for the last few hours. I've tried every troubleshooting step I can think of, Uninstalled, downloaded new, and reinstalled the Android SDK and HTC Drivers. Swapped my extended battery out for the standard battery and vice versa, just in case that was somehow affecting the token.
No improvement.
I did notice that each time I run
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
I get a unique Token in response. In over twenty tries it seemd to be different each time. Is that typical?

Yes, its a different token each time you run it.
Thanks for the confirmation!
I appreciate your confirmation that the Token is unique each time it is run. I didn't notice clear information about that on other forums.
Looks like the Tweets are active @HTCdev on the 173 issue. Hopefully we will see resolution soon, I'm excited to try an ICS ROM.
Thanks, I have the same issue...
Figures the day I finally decide to root my Rezound and install ICS something goes wrong...
Same thing here also, I called HTC but I didnt get anywhere. They said they would create a trouble ticket and somebody will contact me within 10 days.
So got this error on my buddies device because he did the update before I could tell him not to. (Whoops) anyways, I still have my unlock code from when I unlocked mine. Can I use that and be good? Thanks for any insight community.

The update has nothing to do with it, I just got a replacement phone today and it had hboot 2.10 on it, and it didnt work. I updated to hboot 2.11 and same thing.
I just got my Rezound in today.
I'm getting the same error from the site as well. I got mine from Costco in the mail because they were out of stock at the store.
I guess I am waiting this out to see what happens.
As a note, I have not activated the phone yet. Just left it in the charger for a bit, then tarted my unlock phase. Not sure if this is related, but, merely trying to provide some more info to the issue.
Update from @htcdev:
"@teletype3 @con247 @JMZ_software Hi all - we did find an issue and have escalated this to find the cause of the problem."
EDIT: It's working now!
"Token Submitted Successfully!
You've been sent an email with your unlock key as a file attachment. Please review this email for further instructions and a link to complete the Bootloader process."
And I did indeed get my Unlock_code.bin.
Possibly fixed
I was just able to to successfully submit a token and was sent a .bin file in response. I've just pushed the file to my phone..
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
..confirmed my choice to unlock, and am rebooting now.
I got the same error yesterday night and stayed up the whole night trying to resolve the problem, finally it turns out to be caused by the website itself, holy ****.

I have a question. I recently had a hard drive crash and lost my Unlock_code. is there a way to get a copy of it? Can I repopulate a new one from HTCDev?
Thanks in advance!
So I got my replacement from Sprint after bricking my phone by downgrading from s-off..
Now I tried to brick this one and seems like it turned off before I disconected and now I can't boot it up, and the downgrade tool won't detect it, I get a dim blinking red light.
Also when I try to boot up the phone it boots into the bootloader and it says Locked and under it it says security warning, what do I have to do?
Help please :/
Do I just re-do it?
anyone?
Run the ruu.
Check the sticky on how to get back to stock

Yeah.
Or wait. Unlock your phone?
The reason it shows security warning is because you probably flashed something then locked your phone. thats what happens to me after locking my phone.
But now why would you try to downgrade after you bricked your phone. haha

Your right but you don't need to unlock it again. Just run the 2.17 ruu exe through the bootloader and when your phone is hooked to the computer check in your device manager menu ( if you have windows) to make sure you have your drivers. It should say My HTC or adb android.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But if he unlocks his phone it should be able to boot up and not show security warning. Also you need to run ruu while your phone is on fasboot USB if not your phone will just reboot

"1. Go to data menu; enter ##3282# on the dialpad.
2. Click on "Edit Mode" on the menu that appears.
3. Enter your MSL # and hit "OK"
4. Choose "Data Profile" from the listed options.
5. Press your menu button on the phone and select "Restore" from the menu that appears. Then hit "OK.
6. Phone should reboot. Once it's back up, wait for it to start hands-free activation. Once this is complete you should be good as new!"
If that doesn't work just call Sprint and tell them you are getting the Error 16 message and they will get you back going. Happened to me months ago after using revolutionary and the phone call took less than 5 minutes.
Edit: If you don't know your MSL number you can get a free app off the Play Store named MSL Reader that will find it for you.

Your right, if he unlocks it it will allow him back into his ROM. I was just saying it wasn't nessasary to have to unlock again. When I was unrooting my phone to work on the down grade all I did was lock the phone and run the straight stock ruu 2.17 through the fastboot from my PC and every thing cleared up. You just need the drivers installed minus HTC sync

I've tried on 3 different computers today and I'm having a lot of problems with the htcdev site. Especially with logging in. But the main problem when I finally reset my password and login is once I get to the identifier token part I successful get mine in fastboot and I paste it. Then I submit and the site just hangs. I've tried like 5 times and I'm thinking it has to be their site. I've done this before but it was on my old phone desire 601, this is on the replacement I'm simply trying to unlock the boot loader shouldn't be this hard.
Please help. Now the site seems to be working but the damn thing is saying my unlock token is wrong as in too long. Bull crap it's exactly how they say set it up. Can anyone share their unlock bin with me damn it this is so annoying!!!

HtC is more commited to GCHQ and NSA than to development so you must use the same computer to log into your email that you used to receive your token.

Hello, I am new to the forum and this is my first post so please excuse if I don't do everything just right.
I am pretty good at IT stuff but until now Android has not been something I have worked with other than using my phone.
I have an AT&T totally stock HTC One M8. It's been good and reliable until a few weeks ago. Woke up to it asking me to input an encryption password. Never set one.
So I have tried just about everything I can to get it back working. Don't care about the data that's on it.
Can boot into Bootloader. The phone is LOCKED and S-On. Have tried to unlock via HTCdev. The commands work and the unlock screen shows up on my phone but after it reboots and I get back to bootloader it still shows as locked.
Tried adding the newest RUU to my SD card and installing that way. It finds it and starts installing. Then it says press power to reboot and goes back to same as before. No change.
Not sure what to do. Tried to post two pics of screen shots but can't because I am a new user. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you
