Ok I'm going to stand up for the noobs in this... true there are some that are annoying and ask repeated questions. yes its dumb not to read and check a thread and also to use the search. but your attitudes don't help. This noob moaning I see on nearly all website, online gaming is exactly why most noobs act as you complain about. In part because its the only way to get attention.
I have followed all the rules. i watched the video. I posted the correct amount of post before hitting the dev section with any comments. I was told that you ask questions in the general section. and I asked a nice simple question about the launchers and messaging apps. 4 days ago and no one replied...
so as a noob how long do I wait before I ask again,? remeber that every day my posted question is moving deeper and deeper into the forum really and honestly now how many of you go much past the first page of questions in the general forum?
so whats my choice? do I repost my question wait another week? or do i go to the dev section where its being checked all the time and ask the devs directly...
I'm not saying what they do is right, what I'm saying is if we stick to the rules then everyone needs to.
I don't want to sound like i'm *****ing I love this site and all the great work you do. I've learned the basics but I'm never going to be a developer just purely for a lack of time to learn.
so when theres something I'm curious about I need to ask. if its that bad just move all questions to general and allow the devs to delete anything that is not relevant to the thread.
and if bad behavior is continued then you have the right to issue warnings and banings for these offenses...
just please remember one thing each of you were a noob once and its thanks to places like this where someone helped educate you that you are no longer noobs...

yes try using hellraiser made by entropy512 it works on most samsung based roms however do not try with ics roms it will not work

..you'll get responses like this when what your asking is an active subject. Maybe it sucks, but thats how it is. Day before yesterday is a prime example.. Red had to close a dozen threads because of repeat questions and duplicating threads... Which this one is.. and if you had taken 10 minutes even 5 minutes you would have seen the hellraIser thread title i9100 ROM Hellraiser for i777 in Dev section, or at least saw the other threads closed and/or open pertaining to this question.

then you need to learn to be more specific and yes I remember when I was a newbie but I never posted stupid questions... I poured over literally thousands of posts... I just bought my SGS2 a couple of weeks ago, and used it completely stock for a week before even flashing it with anything.
So the fact the OP is new DOES NOT excuse him/her from the same rules I adhered to or the same rules the more experienced developers adhere to. Much less a thread on how to root when it's a sticky. and baby sitters such as yourself are just as much to blame as people such as the OP because you give them what they want without any effort on their behalf, now that person will post each time they get a bug up their tail because those like you allow them to.
So if my rant can keep curve the behavior of just one newb then I am more than willing to keep ranting at all the stupid and unneeded new threads that come up, but I will never clog nor rant a reasonable question or well maintained thread.
the way i see it, it someones stuck an they ask a question its good to help them, especially if theyve tried and couldnt find anything. the search bar on here is useless even when being specific, av seen plenty of users say the same about it. n does it really affect you in any way if someone posts a question that may or not have been answered, no it doesnt so its not a massive deal. also some people havent got the time to go through thousands of posts looking for an answer that may or not be there. am not wana get into a big debate with you, all am wanting to say is there is no reason to be so rude. this is a forum at the end of the day, its for helping people.

as a matter of fact it affects me directly as does it affect you directly. If a user has no time to look for what they need, then they need not tinker with their phone, that' slike saying I don't have time to learn to drive, but I need a car to get where I'm going, the logic isn't worth the time used to think it up. And posts such as these are what make the search function on any forum hard to provide relevant material because of all the junk that is allowed to be posted. and this is xda, which is for developers essentially, and the best devs are leaving in droves because of complacency such as yours to allow noobs that have no business posting needless threads, much less owning device that DOES need time to research before being modified.
and I can go on and on and on and on, there is ZERO reason to tolerate half thought out post from newbies just because they are too lazy or don't have the time to look through the information that others like theirselves post.. if there were hardfist rules then the forum would not be clogged with useless posts and thus no need for my rant

keep searching until he finds it because posting a new thread is the very reason we have all the clutter. if he has no time to keep searching then he shouldn't fathom modifying his device, it's as simple as that.

I stated VERY clearly a couple of responses ago that I will never rant on a valid thread and will do my best to help the OP. I have never been rude to anyone that honestly NEEDED a hand, but I will flame anyone for stupid posting. Because you are completely right, how can you find the information if it's not there? BUT if the information is there, AND in a sticky, then there is no excuse for the laziness.

cutting them some slack just makes the problem worse. if the answer is there these is ZERO justification for the new post. If the answer is NOT there by some chance, there is ZERO justification for me to be rude to them and I will dedicate myself to help them find an answer, but if it's in plain sight, I will also dedicate myself to trying to make sure they think twice about not looking for their answer. such as this thread, does the OP think they are one of few that wants to root his/her phone and that's its done so little that the answer is not in plain sight? that's the only logic that fits into your argument, other than just flat out laziness.
THERE is no justification for being polite to those who are lazy and want spoon fed answers, that is one of the largest reasons many forums getting clogged so quickly

Usually im not a friend of spamming such threads, but this is worth it: We have about 6-7 threads about CM9 and CM10 (Maclaw-, Lagloose-Versions and some Help/general/whatever-threads) scattered throughout the 5830 Forumsection. Adding things like the Cam-problem or minor "have-a-problem threads" its even more.
Please! dont create more threads. Even now there are too much an IMHO most of them can be deleted. Nobody obeys the rules, so its not necessary to divide in CM9 and CM10 helpthreads (dunno where the problem is, but CM10 problems are posted in CM9 thread and Vice-versa AND in their respective "DEV" threads.)
SO: ONE Help-thread and ONE general Thread for CM10 AND 9 would be more than enough

if there's one thing I don't like about this rom - it's that my phone rarely lasts 24hrs with minimal use (no phone calls, only whatsapp running, no internet use, no games etc.)

The thread has been closed for now as it's a duplicate thread but some users here will feel the heat soon.
Discussion threads are not to be started just because an user thinks he wants to but it should be started only if there's actually a need for it & if it'll add something to the forum.
The members could have used the report button to notify the MODs rather than arguing & using swear words. If a polite reminder doesn't help in making the OP realise that it's a duplicate thread then the best option is to use the report button & be rest assured it'll be taken to it's logical conclusion.

This phone was released with 2.3.6 unlike GT S5830.....which was released with froyo initially. So they have got all updates since froyo. We have got only 2.3.6.

Lol. Both of you calm down. Iamareebjamal was talking about the post just bellow mine. Its his first post and as you can see its quite nice and useful. Dont worry you are not being blamed for anything. Cheers. But next time...be sure to ask your doubts in the other thread in the general section.
