Is it possible for me to use the 19100 ROMS, on my att 1777 galaxy s2?

Also, be sure to use the search feature. There are at least half a dozen threads exactly like yours.

A. We prefer you search before posting in here.
B) We prefer you post to an existing related thread rather than start a new one in here.
C) We prefer you use more descriptive titles so that people who search can find relevant threads in here.
D) We really hate when you ignore A, B & C.

..you'll get responses like this when what your asking is an active subject. Maybe it sucks, but thats how it is. Day before yesterday is a prime example.. Red had to close a dozen threads because of repeat questions and duplicating threads... Which this one is.. and if you had taken 10 minutes even 5 minutes you would have seen the hellraIser thread title i9100 ROM Hellraiser for i777 in Dev section, or at least saw the other threads closed and/or open pertaining to this question.

It's the way of the walk, man. This forum is a developer forum, not a help forum. You would've found your answer had you searched but regardless, it makes no difference now.
But still, please please please search from now on, you'll just keep attracting the negative comments if posts similar to this one pop-up again.
Also saying that its a noob question doesn't make it okay

there's one thing thats more annoying than someone posting a question in the wrong section or someone not searching....and thats when I see so many replies to a thread all saying the same thing:
'wrong section'
'why post here'
'this is not the right section for this'
yes people, we get it! He posted in the wrong section. Please dont reply with something that everyone else already said ahead of you. Just report the thread and let the mods take care of it

I'm not familiar with the development aspect of modems but just an observation--If the modem is developed for another device then, to me, common sense says it wasnt designed to be used on our phones which is why some things work and others dont. Maybe the signal is different in the US versus International, which is why the voice doesnt work. Who knows...but the bottom line is that we'll need to use the i777 modems.
out of curiosity, why would you want to use the int'l modems, anyway? What benefit do they give you?

Probably because the international model has CM9 and modems made for it. Not a bad idea, can't blame him for wanting it to work

I'd disagree. It encourages other people to report posts more and refrain from posting the same "why'd you post here" comments over and over.
If everyone decides to comment on it instead of reporting, it just takes that much longer for it to appear in the correct subforum. And of course, the inevitable flaming continues and the thread ultimately ends up closed.
How is encouraging forum rules unproductive?
It reinforces the point

just a guess but if a simple tweak would make it work, it would have been done long ago. So the fact that it still doesnt work, makes me believe that its not possible without major alterations to the int'l modems.
I quote from fan page Samsung Mobile
"Samsung offers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for GALAXY S II
We're thrilled to announce that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be served to GALAXY S II users in the European countries including Poland, Hungary and Sweden, as well as Korea TODAY, and gradually roll out to other markets.
ICS for GALAXY Note, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow soon." With this release, will the developers be able to extract the kernel source and port it to the 777?
go to General forum, "Are we getting ICS" - read and search first, always.
And no.

Edit- Btw your smarties deters new members. Every time you hide in the bushes waiting for someone to say something naive and then jump and ridicule them, you hurt the developers. You see, new people like to donate (they appreciate the work and the help), but people like you make this a sour experience for the newcomer.
No, posting new threads when existing threads cover the same topic you're posting about hurts the developers. It means we need to waste more of our goddamn time dealing with clutter in the forums for new threads that do not justify being a new thread such as:
THERE IS ALREADY A THREAD FOR ICS DISCUSSION AND THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COVERED THERE.
Edit: IBTL.

It's people like this that are making XDA a forum for lazy gimmie gimmie people. This is first and foremost a developer forum for responsible users. I'm not saying it's strictly for developers, just that people that are new here need to realize the forum was not created for THEM. it was created for developers and users that know what they are doing with their phones.

I think the the reason people might be giving you a hard time is because you started a thread and clearly put yourself self above the Golden Rule of using the search button. It is pretty clear what we have in the development forum dude. So whether you have you reasons or not for using whoever's rom here. It doesn't matter. You didn't search. You wanted others to do the foot work for you and spoon feed you. You are now just another statistic that is clogging up xda with useless threads. Thanks!

Use the search button? you got to be kidding me. Some people may want to browse the latest technical issues that came up, and need to read thru pages and pages of total off-topic blabber.

Maybe a private forum is a good solution for you if you get annoyed by people asking questions.

Well basically what you are doing here defeats your whole purpose of this useless thread. You've started a thread that adds no value to this community and proves your disregard for the forum by using the search button. So to be fair. im not annoyed at all dude. im just stating a fact. the fact is, that you couldn't even figure out how to use the search button. thats ridiculous. the search button filters out what you're calling "off-topic blabber." so you should really begin to school yourself on how to use it. it would be awesome.
i don't need a private forum. but thanks for the suggestion. I actually add value to this community and keep the development moving. what do you do? I'm thinking it might be a good idea to take your own suggestion and start a private forum for yourself. that way your non-development and opinionated threads can be elsewhere from the actual development and XDA can continue to be what its about. DEVELOPMENT.

Man, if that's the reason you don't want to try Task's AOKP, you should try to come up with some other reasons. His ROM is awesome. He updates at a maddening pace and fixes a lot of things. He is an awesome developer. Also, like he's been telling you, the search button makes it easy to find something you may want to find, you don't have to read through all of it if you don't want to. Sincerely speaking, you should at least give the ROM a try, the download link is in the first page, so there is no off-topic posts to read through to try it. I promise you you will not be disappointed.

Not.to be argumentative but.... My son has the LG thrill and his clock is randomly changing times on him resulting in him being late for work on one occasion. I haven't been able to figure it out yet (though i really haven't spent that much time trying yet) and don't want to resort to flashing a different Rom on it. so i could see asking a question like that in the near future if i don't figure it out. Here is what I get from phone info
Model number - SGH-I717R
Android Version - 2.3.6
Baseband Version - T989DTLKJ3
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.11
Build number Gingerbread.248
I am not sure what exactly has been done. I would like to upgrade to ICS and still have it working with Wind Mobile. What do I do? Where do I begin?
Thanks in advance and sorry. I know its a stupid stupid question.
