Manually install ice cream sandwich yet? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

The official Ics has been out for the international version of the s2, and I've seen tutorials on how to install it early, but I was wondering if it was available for the i777? Or do we have to wait for AT&T to take their sweet time to release it? I've searched around the forums for this question so I would appreciate if you guys could enlighten me instead of just telling me to "search" like every other forum on the Internet. Thanks guys!

Why read? Just clutter these forums with garbage. Good call.

It's people like this that are making XDA a forum for lazy gimmie gimmie people. This is first and foremost a developer forum for responsible users. I'm not saying it's strictly for developers, just that people that are new here need to realize the forum was not created for THEM. it was created for developers and users that know what they are doing with their phones.

Fantastic, I hope so, been dealing with Pandora bug for awhile now and its a well used app. Thanks

Correct posting location = Apps & Themes... just sayin..
Thank you for the newsflash though.
That's great. Shouldn't this be in themes and apps not development?
A rom called "pandora" and an update for it, where is the change log?
*shakes head* I guess common sense really is dead. That's a real shame!
Awesome thanks!

Yeap,
Right now, running great...Now when I get home time to remove the skip limit.
Oh yeah, to the OP, thanks for the info but facepalm as to the section you posted it in.
is a full wipe needed? what kernel does it come with....
So before you all decide to keep flaming me for posting in this thread, check my post history I am fully aware of what the different forums are for as a matter of fact I posted a Question this morning in the Q&A Forum.
This is a universal problem across ALL ROMs and has been discussed in EVERY single ginger bread based ROM in this forum, and as such I felt it was the appropriate place to get as much dissemenation as possible. Please don't insult my common sense as I assure you I have plenty of it.
As for the quote of "Pandora ROM" I'm pretty sure my post was NOT entitled [ROM] or [Kernel] or [Mod] so give me some credit there... If someone who Moderates these forums thinks there is a better place for it feel free to move it, but the reality is I was trying to help as many people as possible, I didnt post something that says, "Excuse me how do I do an hboot or flash a ROM" I posted a universally applicable piece of information.
Have a fantastic day and for all of you flaming me enjoy your Pandora now that you know the fix has been released (even though it was posted in this forum)
Cheers.
Well I appreciate the info, updating now, thanks. And you had to know you would get sh*t on for posting it here. I'm glad you did as I don't search the other forums often.

same reason I did post it here!
Regardless of the reason it is still the wrong forum. Explain it however makes you feel warm and fuzzy but this is the development forum and a market app update is not development. Just saying.
Also if people didn't see it in the Themes & Apps forum they would have seen it when they loaded the market and saw there was an update available.
I could give two ****s where its posted. I'm glad I seen it cause I normally just browse my favorite threads.
Thanks again to the OP.
That's what moderators are for, just move it and be done with it already...

All 47 posts? Good job. Post in the right section next time. If you read the dev section requirements and rules, you would understand. And as for the tool who said thats what mods are for, mods are here for tools like you do they can kick you in the face with the BAN BOOT.
Thanks!

Ice Cream Sandwich - When will we get?

I'm surprised we haven't got this topic yet. Since the SDK is already available. I wonder if the developers are taking a look into it? Hopefully developers here will be faster than Sammy's developers. Looking at Galaxy Nexus ICS, it really looks awesome, more user friendly. Let's discuss it!
I agree.. wonder if any of our dev are workin on porting it to the GSII. :/
If you do a quick search and read 1 of the 10 threads asking this, you would find out it would be within a month or so.
I love Ice-cream sandwich, and also wish Samsung will updated the SGS2 to Android 4.0 as soon as possible.By the way, I'm looking forward the function of Ice-cream sandwich!!
Haven't got this topic yet? If you only read the forum there are lots of threads like this.. Please read or search rather than opening new ones >.<

Maybe your personal topic about ICS we haven't yet because about ICS we have too much topics all over the sections!
Have you tried to use SEARCH function?
i have some question.
what will happen to the physical button?
will the resolution of the active screen became 480*798?
how does app that design for 480*800 will work on 480*798 or 720*1198?
thank you
omg cant believe another thread asking the same topic as other 8 threads.
Seriously is not hard at all use the search button before start posting something you surely can think someone else opened in past 2 days.
Cant the moderators merge all these ICS threads so we dont have 5 in q&a and 4 in general section? and imho it can be worth to put it sticky so ppl can see it before open another useless thread.

N00b question

Is it possible for me to use the 19100 ROMS, on my att 1777 galaxy s2?
yes try using hellraiser made by entropy512 it works on most samsung based roms however do not try with ics roms it will not work
Also, be sure to use the search feature. There are at least half a dozen threads exactly like yours.

A. We prefer you search before posting in here.
B) We prefer you post to an existing related thread rather than start a new one in here.
C) We prefer you use more descriptive titles so that people who search can find relevant threads in here.
D) We really hate when you ignore A, B & C.

..you'll get responses like this when what your asking is an active subject. Maybe it sucks, but thats how it is. Day before yesterday is a prime example.. Red had to close a dozen threads because of repeat questions and duplicating threads... Which this one is.. and if you had taken 10 minutes even 5 minutes you would have seen the hellraIser thread title i9100 ROM Hellraiser for i777 in Dev section, or at least saw the other threads closed and/or open pertaining to this question.

It's the way of the walk, man. This forum is a developer forum, not a help forum. You would've found your answer had you searched but regardless, it makes no difference now.
But still, please please please search from now on, you'll just keep attracting the negative comments if posts similar to this one pop-up again.
Also saying that its a noob question doesn't make it okay

ICS for Galaxy S II

I quote from fan page Samsung Mobile
"Samsung offers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for GALAXY S II
We're thrilled to announce that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be served to GALAXY S II users in the European countries including Poland, Hungary and Sweden, as well as Korea TODAY, and gradually roll out to other markets.
ICS for GALAXY Note, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow soon." With this release, will the developers be able to extract the kernel source and port it to the 777?
go to General forum, "Are we getting ICS" - read and search first, always.
And no.
Thread closed in 3, 2, 1....

in a fruit salad.
Have a nice day!
Edit- Btw your smarties deters new members. Every time you hide in the bushes waiting for someone to say something naive and then jump and ridicule them, you hurt the developers. You see, new people like to donate (they appreciate the work and the help), but people like you make this a sour experience for the newcomer.
No, posting new threads when existing threads cover the same topic you're posting about hurts the developers. It means we need to waste more of our goddamn time dealing with clutter in the forums for new threads that do not justify being a new thread such as:
THERE IS ALREADY A THREAD FOR ICS DISCUSSION AND THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COVERED THERE.
Edit: IBTL.

[Help] Stupid Question Thread, GNote Edition

First: Google is your best friend. Please use Google first. This thread is being created for new and old users alike. It's only purpose is a safe place to ask those questions you feel may be too stupid to ask anywhere else.
Second: No question is too stupid. Any question asked here shall be deemed a good question because you were smart enough to ask it.
Third: This is not an original idea. All thanks and credit goes to lumin30 for coming up with this idea. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1494423 and to ShadyAce80 who brought the idea here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849043
Fourth: I am not claiming to be able to answer any questions.. Might even ask some .. Just wanted to have a place for those Note
questions that users might have.
**This Community has a Super thread which could provide answers to a lot of your questions, the Super thread is open to everyone as a resource page:
[Road & Ref Map]: Galaxy Note Super Everything Thread (I717)
So here we go...open for business. Lets try and be helpful. Any flaming will be reported. All of XDA rules still apply. Flaming and the belittling of other users will not be tolerated and dealt with by the moderation team.
Ask away .. answer if you can .. above all .. have fun and play nice.
Reserved for Bubba
Reserved for stupid question.
I strongly disagree with number two. Any idiot can ask a question, only a smart person knows when it's necessary. Someone the other week had opened a thread because his clock had the wrong time. There are most certainly stupid questions.

Not.to be argumentative but.... My son has the LG thrill and his clock is randomly changing times on him resulting in him being late for work on one occasion. I haven't been able to figure it out yet (though i really haven't spent that much time trying yet) and don't want to resort to flashing a different Rom on it. so i could see asking a question like that in the near future if i don't figure it out. ( obviously in the thrill forum)
from a galaxy far far away....

If asked and answered, you gain knowledge. Not everyone on this site is at the same level. Easy for you may be hard for some other user. I have had my own"duh"moments. If you haven't then more power to you. I look forward to your input here to help out so others can benifit from your knowledge. I will agree with your last sentence that there are stupid questions .. hence the thread name. But I will ask you to refrain from name calling. Thanks. I hope you stick around.

Ultra noob here. I got my phone on kijiji and it was already rooted and flashed to work with Wind Mobile(Canada). The phone is originally from Rogers.
Here is what I get from phone info
Model number - SGH-I717R
Android Version - 2.3.6
Baseband Version - T989DTLKJ3
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.11
Build number Gingerbread.248
I am not sure what exactly has been done. I would like to upgrade to ICS and still have it working with Wind Mobile. What do I do? Where do I begin?
Thanks in advance and sorry. I know its a stupid stupid question.
