I was wondering how many other people are having problems with this. It works when I do a full wipe and then stops after 20 minutes. And now won't rotate

it appen to me for no particular reason, after the update i think, all you have to do in the setting is to re enable the option. its probably only disable

No I have it enabled. Tried many options.

I started a thread about it also, search it. After the update, my auto rotate and auto brightness stop working. Did your auto brightness stop too?
I returned it and bought another. It might be software but I rather not risk it.

Can't get it to work period. Seems it's on within settings and the quick menu, but it isn't working.
I'm using ComRom 2.1
Would rather not have to start from scratch to fix this.
Further more, what causes this behavior?

Hello everyone! I upgraded to ICS today, and noticed that the notification to chose a keyboard keeps popping up. It also says that Google Voice is chosen when I've disabled it. Can anyone help me with this? I really appreciate it!

Hi,
After the ics update you will have to press the imput method to change the keyboards you want to use. That's normal ;-)

Thank you for replying! I chose the Android keyboard, and the prompt to choose a keyboard still pops up. I tried restarting and rebooting my phone and nothing is making this notification go away. As you can see in the pic I attached, the only option it will check off when I touch it is Google Voice. It's making me nuts.

It's always there.
So the notification to choose a keyboard will always pop up when I go to type?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
We all have that same screen with google voice so don't drive yourself to nuts over that. Its the default keyboard that needs to be set which it looks like you did so I'm not sure why it keeps prompting you to choose.
Edit: I notice you have google voice unchecked. Recheck it, set default keyboard to whatever you want and report back

Okay, I did what you suggested and have included screen caps. For some reason the notification to choose the keyboard isn't going away. I can ignore it if it's not a fixable problem, I'm just a little OCD about my notifications being cleared.

Reflash the ROM bud
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Can you please tell me how to do that?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
It will always be up there with a keyboard open.
Cm9 has an option to turn off that notification, otherwise it'll be there.
If you wanna reflash...Just do exactly what you did in the first place...
I don't think he flashed a ROM before if he got the ota . There is a tutorial stickied in the general page as to going about flashing and rooting

I like to have shortcuts to soothing mode and to resolution on my camera because I'm always fiddling with them, but every time I set them up, they disappear when I close the camera. Anybody has a workaround?
Thanks in advance...

This seems to be a problem with all Samsung galaxy phones, I was googling it today, and I found several other people complaining about the same problem in several other forums, but I didn't find any solution...
In the developer section what is your process limit set at ? And is do not keep activities checked? Try setting both those exactly like mine and see if your shortcuts still dissapear.

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note LTE and this phone is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes I am using an app halfway and it suddenly auto-close for absolutely no reason. Just to note, it's running on Android 4.0.4 ICS.
Maybe I should have bought an GS3 or something else other than this garbage.

This is a very strange behavior, indeed. What do you mean by using an app halfway?
Maybe you should do a factory reset, with a nandroid backup first....

Uninstall the apps which would force close suddenly.
I meant that I was like playing a game and in the middle of a race, it suddenly auto close.
Sometimes even Google Chrome and the default browser would auto close. Restarting my device would be a temporary fix and it would auto close again once it's 'overloaded'. Currently, I tried putting the maximum background running apps at 4. Still observing whether it works or not.

Have you tried clearing the Cache of your device?
How do I do that?
Sent from my GT-N7005 using xda premium
Since you are in ics, you won't have the option available by default.. So I suggest you to use some third party apps for this.. You can try app2sd available in android market.. Even though the main purpose of this app is not clearing cache, you have the option to do this.. Have a try..

You can use apps Memorry booter.
Thanks a lot. Does this actually prevents any auto closing in future?
Isn't that the same as task killer apps?

Thanks for that suggestion. Currently, I am using it and keeping my fingers crossed that nothing screws up.

I'm looking for an app of sorts to auto dimm the screen. I find the one built in doesn't work as good as I would like. The screen is either too bright or too dark and I will have to manually change it throughout the day. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I tried both apps you suggested, Lux seemed to work but my screen became unresponsive and I had to restore a backup. If anyone else tries these apps be sure to do a backup before trying them.
