As the name implies this is a modded SystemUI.apk that removes the location icon and extended quick settings!
This is my first status bar mod that I did entirely by hand! This will work on most any ROM but be advised if your ROM has more quicksettings you will loose them.
This is geared to those on a stock rooted de-odex'ed ROM such as: [ROM] - 12/28 - Stock Rooted WWE 1.02.605.6
This will work on versions of CleanROM 1.0 to 1.5 and will work on lllboredlll's ROM as well but you will loose his custom transparencies and will "re-gain" the recent app list. This will also work on Nils' Business GingerSense ROM as well.

If you want to use this in your own ROM please do not ask me, its yours to take. I dont require people to ask me to use any portions of any of my work. Thats lame and goes against the entire principals of a community and open source in general.
Just hit Thanks on the post!
Super huge thanks to erishasnobattery and the rest of TeamBAF for helping me (holding my hand) through this mod!
Big thanks to lllboredllll and fernandor sor for helping (doing most of the work) with the transparency!
Done!
Enjoy!

The only changes to the stock status bar are listed. No inversion. BTW: What do you mean by inverted? Sounds interesting. Can you provide a screenshot of what you are referring to?
good job ..... only one thing about my rom... it should work fine but to gain flashlight means you will add back recent apps... my sysui has location removed, no recent apps and transparency edits done throughout the xml
BUT this will be great for someone who wants recent apps back

Yep. I will eventually add more. This was my first one and I wanted to share.
There are a whole bunch of extra settings that are locked up that I am unlocking.

I am currently running ineffible rom basically because I just wanted to check it out. But there is too much clutter in that rom for me and some things aren't quite polished. There are a bunch of toggles in it, but I think alot of them are just clutter. I don't think I need an autorotation/autosync toggle in quicksettings, but a GPS and media volume one would be nice. If you added those, I would probably switch over to clean rom and use this. That is just me though.. it is your rom and mod. I wish we could just get a working lte only toggle. (ie uncheck it and it drops to 3G)

I agree 100% with the Auto Sync. I like the auto rotation I acutally use it . Now I think there is some general redundancy in having "Mobile Network" and "Airplane Mode". Next one will be to remove Mobile Network and add either volume or restart. Restart is more a pain in the but because then you also have to mode framework-res.apk so I will prolly change the Mobile Network to Volume.
But hotspot to flashlight was a low hangning fruit and my first attempt so... As I learn more I will mod more.
I would leave mobile network. I use that one alot. I figure others do too. I cut data lot while I am in bad service areas on campus so I can still call and text.

Interesting... I wonder how often people use Airplane Mode then?
I never do. I just hibernate it. Plus, if someone wants airplane mode they can just hit the power button and put it in that way with the extended menu.

I mean these are just my opinions, but I think quickly adjusting the media volume is a feature that should be more convenient than airplane mode.
I agree I like having mobile as I use it, and i never use airplane..
I actually think the more the extra toggles the better, i do miss that from skyraider.

I agree. How often does one really use airplaine mode.
Now... this is all assuming that I cannot physically add the code for volume and have to hack whats already there but I should be able to add it. In theory... lol

Awesome man!!
Thanks for all your hard work!
those toggles are a pain!!
I think the perfect setup would be...
Toggles in this order...
Wifi
Bluetooth
GPS
Flashlight
Mobile (I never use it, what do you use this for?)
3g/4g
Settings
Media Volume
Brightness
Ringer Mode
I think that's it. Can't wait to be done with that stupid location icon.

Here are some minor modifications that I've made to the pulldown toggles for Eclipse 1.0 on my Droid X2. Just thought that I would share what I have. Just flash these in recovery.
Mod 1. Removed the screen rotation toggle.
I have no use for the rotation button and it annoyed me enough that I removed it.

11/3/2011 - the mods for listed for 1.2-rc3 are confirmed to work well with the office 1.2 release.

Awesome! I'm going to flash the first one in a few minutes. I don't need a rotation toggle either. I never use bluetooth either, but can't really think of anything I'd prefer to see in its place. Airplane mode, maybe.
Well, I finally got around to flashing this and it worked great. At least, it did til I flashed my custom theme from UOT, which reverted it back to the stock. Bummer, but I'd rather have my look.

lol I did the same thing last night. I made a theme on the UOT kitchen and the result was the same. I forgot to use the SystemUI.apk file from the zip to upload to the UOT kitchen.
So, if you use the SystemUI.apk from the zip file when you upload to UOT your theme will then have the toggles you want.
Another way would to use apkmanager to decompile your themed SystemUI.apk edit the xml file then recompile it. If you want to know how to do that let me know.

Yikes, that sounds a little complicated lol. I think I'll just whip up another theme in UOT.
EDIT: rebuilt my theme, using the file from this zip. Works like a charm.
Airplane Mode for Eclipse 1.2rc3
Finally had some time to myself tonight and started playing around with Eclipse 1.2-rc3. I made a few mods to the toggles.
I replaced the rotation toggle with airplane mode and changed the icons.
Eclipse_1.2_rc3_toggles_airplane_mode.zip
I missed the sound on/off toggle and luckily nitro still had the code in the SystemUI for that so I added it to the panel and removed the others that I don't use.
Eclipse_1.2_rc3_toggles_wifi_bt_gps_snd.zip
Here's the same as above with the flashlight added back in.
Eclipse_1.2_rc3_toggles_wifi_bt_gps_snd_flash.zip
I hope rc3 is the final. I'd hate to have to do these over again.
How hard would it be to reverse the status bar on the ring/silent toggle? I'd much prefer the "on" position to be when my phone is set to silent. Since my phone is set to ring 90% of the time, it makes more sense to me to toggle silent on...

No problem. There wasn't an icon for the airplane mode in eclipse so I had to tweak one I had made for the 2.3.4 stock toggles.
If you want to to try this one out it is the same as above but with the Eclipse Icons. I didn't try this one out because I just flashed back to stock to work on something there. Give it a try. You can always flash one of the other zips if things don't go right.
Eclipse_1.2_rc3_toggles_wifi_ap_gps_ring_v2.zip
The link to the other version that has the modified icons is in the post above.
Alright. I'm won't have time to check out RC3 til tomorrow, but I'll report back
Thank you so much for these mods. I had found a few 2.3.4 notification modifications before, but yours look much better.
My only gripe with Eclipse was that pull down toggles were stock, and you've fixed that for me.
Well, I'm a bum and got caught up with life, so I haven't gotten around to flashing these yet. BUT, I'm going to flash official 1.2 later this evening and was wondering if these zips should still work. Worse case scenario: I try, they don't work, and I nandroid back.

While I could remove the bloatware software, any of its removal will depend on lidroid since we'll want to keep the image as close to the original as possible.
However, I will add in the home button haptic fix for our devices on his next update.

It does not support .MTZ files, at the moment. There is a possibility that lidroid will incorporate it for theme support, but only time will tell.
The theme manager works a lot like the MIUI theme manager. You choose the theme you like. Download it and once its done downloading you install it. You'll need to reboot in order to apply.
Odd... this seems stock, but I cant figure out what its doing with logs and contacts. Worst part is unless I'm doing something wrong... battery life is TERRIBLE. Used 80% battery in 12 hours (while sleeping) not even using the phone. In CWM I wiped and wiped data in storage and mounts as recommended. This is far worse that stock (the battery life), unnamed even with hub stuff installed resulted amazing battery life!

I will try that. I installed the rom at about 10pm added my hub accounts and thats it... went to bed around 11, at last glance I was @ 79% battery. Woke at 11am (long weekend) and the phone was completely dead. I will test further and report back.
Thank you for a great port!!!

First Off, Thanks to:

fernando sor = Guide to Decompile framework-res and systemui
Dr. Carpenter = MODed Trebuchet launcher, and references
I have successfully enabled the navbar at the bottom of the screen. I have also worked to remap the buttons that are contained in the navbar.
That is the most apparent mod, although i have gone through and enabled (and disabled) some things to make the phone work as i would like it to.
List of what is included:
-Nav Bar
*remapped to have Power - Back - Home - Recent - Menu
-shrunk navbar to save space
-enabled 360 degree rotation in apps (and launcher - must enable it in your launcher)
-enabled rotation on the LockScreen (might take it out, its kinda glitchy)
-included the CM9 Trebuchet Launcher - ICS stock launcher with added functionality
-menu key bypasses slider unlock (will not by pass secure locks)

MODS
So the MODs i was working on ended up becoming a new ROM based of Newts 4.0.3 Senseless ROM, here is a link to it, check it out if you so desire
Kanged Senseless
Issues:
The main issue i have noticed is that the background of the bar will sometimes be covered by other images that are rendered by the phone. that is not noticeable in most cases except the fact that the background does not seem to refresh, therefore the images stay down there and cause the bar to render incorrectly, the buttons will still work.
In most cases the way i fix it when this happens is to go back to the home screen and open the app drawer (only in stock ICS and trebuchet launcher) this will clear the images out.
if that does not work, i also can open an app and turn the phone sideways, rotates the screen, then press the home button again and the bar should be fixed.
This main issue i believe is related to the other rendering glitches we see (blurry status bar text, blue flashes) and will most likely be fixed when those issues are fixed.
Planned Updates:
-1% battery increments
-clock in middle of status bar
-theme navbar icons
*Also will be porting to other ICS ROMs
Changelog:
2-12-2012
-added support to Ineffabilis (slightly different features)
1/27/2012
-Initial release

It kinda does, but the stock launchers are pretty spread out so you don't notice it much. i have search, back, home, menu and lock screen in it now. but i can put just about any function in the phone into it i'm pretty sure, i have to play with that a lil more tonight.
but you are right, i'm sure that's why no one has done it yet, its not a hard mod lol

That would be pretty sweet, i can try to find the continuum source and see if i can figure out how it works.
also there is a launcher in the droidx forums that shrinks the dock to keep it right up close to the nav buttons, i'm going to see if that will install on the rezound ok and if not, i'll try to figure out how he did it and add it in
That will save space some

This is an old version of the launcher and it works fine. Some of the customization doesn't. But the launcher itself works very well. And you get a couple customization like rotation and taking the search thing off.

I am going to look into at least turning off the lights... I don't know that it would be best to get rid of their functionality in case the mod doesn't work hahah

I love this mod. Turning off the softkey lights would be great, but I also have another idea for a mod:
A mod that turns the softkey search button into a recent apps button.
I know that holding the home button takes you to the recent apps, but it's annoying how long it takes. I personally don't use the search button ever, and would not miss it at all. And maybe for those who do use the search button: make the search button recent apps, but long press it for search.

Well the mod has the recent apps button, i didn't put the search into the nav bar, ran out of room... haha so if you are running the mod, why would use the softkeys? when the recent apps buttons is right there on the Navbar?

Haha... Sorry... My suggestion was for a totally separate mod that would not have a nav bar and mod the softkeys. It would not be used at the same time as this mod.

* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878267

if anyone feels that i've not acknowledged their contributions in any way, it's entirely through my own ignorance, so just let me know and i'll be more than happy to credit you for your work on here.
and no, don't bother donating to me for this - give it to those above who've made it possible in the first place
the install file is available here:
http://www.box.com/s/d8yeiv5u1gcsu470noai
all files are zipaligned, too, for those who care about that sort of thing
there is an undo file available here:
http://www.box.com/s/xvgpvjtcpp19hi0n1d8d
the uninstall will revert to the stock framework/res/systemui/settings/android.policy files, so backup these files for your own sake before installing this mod. my working installation is arconium 7.1, so that's where my starting point was for these files. i've had some issues with the uninstaller from time to time, though, so let me know if it's not working for you and i'll see what i can do.
it's my first ever mod, so please let me know what you think, and if you have any more suggestions that you'd like to see included post 'em and i'll see what i can do.
equally, if anyone wants to see my working files, i tried to split out the mods into individual changes from the stock decompiled files as i found that easier to keep track of the changes. if they're any use to someone, just ask and i'll send you my working files.
Looks Cool! Awesome Work Dude
Nice mod bro btw interested in 2G/3G Toggle mod? Unfortunately my current mod is out of bandwidth till next month so if you want to port it by yourself you'll have to wait until 1st March.. or go to like-p's page on XMP themes and apps and he already ported the 2G/3G Toggle to XMP
any chance of getting back to kill app on its own without all the other stuff?
thanks

i don't see why not... do you need it as an installable zip, or are you more interested in the details of the changes so that you can hack around with it yourself? i'll see if i can get something sorted out for you on this score later on today either way.

2g/3g toggle mod could be a useful addition to this so thanks for the heads-up! i'll have a look and see if i can work out how to include it - i have to admit that the smali code is a complete pita to get my head around - such a shame apktool doesn't decompile into java instead as i've worked with that for over 12 years i don't suppose you know of a language primer for smali code at all?

Smali is essentially a java optimized for dalvik. It's easy to understand once you get used to it only that all the type is included in each object mentioned instead of one include directive on top of java file. another differences is that variable is assigned with a v (v1, v2, etc) and parameter is with p (p0 -> usually a replacement for 'this' inside object based function or just a first parameter in a static function, p1, p2, etc)

it's on once the files are installed for it, by all accounts. it's basically a tweak for better bass response from what i've been able to gather. there's more info on the thread i linked to above.

well, i've tried to keep the mods as separate as i can while i was doing them so that they could be combined. there's only a few that crossed over significantly, but the control panel mod was one of them. as it stands, i'm toying with the idea of trying to move it beneath the notifications as in landscape mode it takes up most of the available screen space, and the notifications aren't really visible. ideally, i'd do it more like miui, with the page of icons and a page for notifications, with the view defaulting to notifications if any are present. but that's just me - i really liked miui, but for some reason the touch-screen doesn't seem to respond properly on cm7/miui on the arc s. ah, well

sorry about that - i'll have another look at this later on today. might be as simple as me forgetting to put the correct jar file into the zip with a bit of luck :/

second attempt, then: try this instead just tried it on my phone, and seems to work fine for me this time. it still has the 'never' option on the display timeout in there too, as i'm a little pushed for time to pull all of those changes out, but there shouldn't be anything else left in there.
brilliant will give it another go, thank you

Okay, so after building several themes, I was thinking...I sure wish this had this from that theme, and that part from this theme, and so on, so, I decided to pick my favorite parts from my favorite themes, then add some tweaks and assorted mods...the result...
A.C.T.
Another Cool Theme
BUILT FOR 2.17.651.5 DEODEX
Just a quick note on this. The original version of this theme was based on files from meanrom. The updated versions are based on TN Adrenaline. That being said, this theme should work on any 2.17 based rom (With the exception of express, as that is a very unique creation) however, it has only bean tested by me on Adrenaline and Meanrom.
ACT_2.17_ver1.7_universal CHANGELOG
Compatible with both CDMA and GSM roms
New Dialer added
A few more graphic changes and fixes
ACT_2.17_ver1.6 CHANGELOG
Made the theme universal for both Odex and Deodex.
Added no spin to the rosie
ACT_2.17_ver1.5 CHANGELOG
Fixed Force Close on weather animations (sorry bout that one)
Added TV out, 3D homescreen, and Screen calibration tools in settings/display (Gruesomewolf, You are so COOL! Thank you for sharing!)
Added animated background to the app drawer. A note on this...for some reason you must open the personalize menu before the animation will work. after that, it will work until you reboot)
Also, for users of the 4ext recovery (the one i use and recomend...just sayin') there is now an ACT custom theme for it. Just install through the 4ext recovery app.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26239677/TODD/4ext_NST_theme.zip
Thanks to all of you for continuing to support my work. Through your thanks, donations, and kind remarks. I may not have the most users, but i do have the best. Thank you all.
ACT_2.17_ver1.4 CHANGELOG
4x5 home screens
Spin removed from home screens
Text Removed from home screens
Thanks to Jeffsenace and Bad Seed Customs for those mods. You guys ROCK!!
0 Compressed MMS (Thanks Gruesomewolf. You know you're the BEST!)
FULL 100% BEATS audio support added. Additional supporting kernel is needed. But if you got it, everything else you need is in here
Thanks to...well, tons of people worked on this. But I guess GW, Team Nocturnal, DR. Dre, and anyone else who had a hand in it. It sounds amazing.
Removed Leedroid tweaks app from the app drawer. It's in the settings. Didnt see any reason to have it in both.
Probably a few other things i'm missing.
Featuring
Transparent System, Rosie, Dropdowns, Quick Settings, Gmail, Gtalk, MMS, and most everything else that can be made transparent (Thanks to Fernando Sor for all your help in that. You are The MASTER of all things unseen)
Many other apps will be made transparent by the framework edits (tapatalk and xda if you are using the dark theme or simple theme, just to name a couple)
Hotspot Hack (Thanks Gruesomewolf)
Leedroid Tweaks (Thanks J4n87 & daniels7)
Slide to Clear Notifications (Thanks Gruesomewolf)
Transparent Animated Flip Clock (Thanks Mayfield)
XLOUD Audio Engine (Thanks XxXPachaXxX )
And I'm sure other stuff I've forgotten...
Version 1.2 CHANGELOG
Added new wallpapers
Changed volume/download bars to blue (don't know how I missed that one)
Made notifications semi-transparent, removing the ugly white box (thanks again GW)
Fixed download animation icons
Added 'BOX' app to data/app (easy to delete if you don't want it) gives you 50 gb of cloud space
Other minor graphic changes and corrections
Thanks XSMagical for letting me steal the lockring from Blackened
Thanks FDB8231
Big thanks to Jyarborough & Budeone for helping me test.
Built from files taken from MEANROM v1.0 by MIKEYXDA
Thanks for such a brutally KICK ASS Rom!
Make sure you are on the default HTC skin.
And thanks to anyone I may have forgotten...Sorry
And, as always themers and devs, if you see something you like, please feel free to use it. Don't even have to ask. No really, it's okay. Just take it.
Enjoy!

That sucks - that was the main reason I bought mine used and verified the hboot before I bought it.
Yeah, but the price was awfully hard to beat. And with all the workarounds, about the only thing I can't do is flash a splash screen.
Great Job on this theme! Mad props to all of those that have contributed
Just some input here, I installed this and currently running MeanROM 1.5. Been running smoothly. Also a heads up is that anyone running this and if they have their volume is already set to really high before installing the theme I would recommend turning all the volume a bit down. My volume was soo loud that it made me jump. LOL. Currently have all the bars only 1/3 of the way and was just as loud as it was before them flash.
Also I noticed that flashing this will break your sprint hot spot if you have that pre-installed on your current ROM, well for MeanROM that is. But I re flashed mwalts hotspot fix and now it works again.
Great Job and keep it up
Thanx,
Z ,................
Didn't notice the broken hot spot. Thanks for the heads up. Time to use the search button to find that fix.
Edit... Found the file and hotspot is working like a champ again.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Didn't notice the hotspot either, I always use wifi tether. But thanks. At least there appears to be an easy fix.
A for the volume, well, I like it loud. Actually, I work in the live event production industry, so being able to crank the volume during a show, so I can hear the phone ring is quite helpful. Concerts can be loud places. Lol
If someone can post a link to the fix, I'll take a look at it and incorporate it into the theme...or at least post it in the op. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong, I like the loud too, It was that that I had mine pretty much all the way up, installed the theme and it boosted it on top of that. LOL almost to where I thought the speaker was going to go poof. LOL. It was just advice that before flashing theme, might want to turn you sound down so that way depending on what volume tweaks you already have, it won't suprise you and blow a speaker. (meanrom had some previous tweaks installed as well)
Then after the flash, go in and re adjust on how loud you want it.
thats, all .. LOL
Thanx again on great theme !

Thanks.. i actually just found it. gonna take a look and see whats up. thanks again.
Looking at it it, it looks as though it may break a few things in the theme. My framework.jar is setup to handle leedroid tweaks as well as the swipe to clear mod. But i'll dig through it and see what is what.
