[Q] Htc hd2 won't boot windows mobile - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I use android with the htc hd2 for about 1 year ago, and the i want to back to windows mobile. I came from android, and when i finished the rom install the phone is stop when the windows mobile (orange color installer, please wait while your device is starting for the first time...) installer is finished it's always power off or just do nothing. I try to install a custom too. Neither the original and neither the custom din't work. The android work great, but i want the windows mobile 6.5.
If you have an idea please tell me.
Sorry for the bad english.

First of all, congratulations to your first post.
How have you tried to install WM?
Have you removed HSPL?
Have you changed RADIO?
Maybe you will have a look on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421179

I changed the radio the spl, hspl, rom(custom,orginal)... but nothing

bear with me here, guys, as i am new to not only this site, but to the world of htc and smartphones all together...i apologize in advance!
so my friend had this htc lying around and said i could have it since my previous phone took a crap. it's on tmobile so i was going to have it flashed over to at&t.
however, the phone seems to be a brick....it will not boot past the initial "stick together" screen.
yes, i tried the hard reboot...pressing and holding volume up+volume down+power button. it takes me to the screen asking if i want to reset the device..i hit volume up to confirm. it goes through the reset. i hit volume up to boot the device. it gets to the "stick together" screen, vibrates 7 times, and freezes.
well, it was doing that anyway...but only when plugged in. the little orange light used to turn on when i connected the charger--now nothing.
and now it won't let me into the hard boot screen again. just...black. removing the battery and replacing it does not work.
i had taken it to the gentleman to flash it to at&t, not knowing this problem existed. he called me (because i left the phone there, since he had a line of people) to tell me the phone was freezing on that screen. i gave him the ok to do what he called a "hard wipe". i went back for the phone this morning and he said he did the hard wipe, and it was still freezing--told me the phone was only good for parts at this point.
so i took it home. i plugged it in, and i did what i described above.
what the heck do i do?! i would love to be able to rescue this phone! like i said, i'm totally new to all of this so if you're going to throw terms at me like RUU (which i saw all over this site), i have no idea what you mean so please post a link to another thread or something that can explain these things to me, if you do not want to do so yourself.
oh, my friend also said she had put an at&t sim card into the phone (unflashed, still on tmobile) before and tried to turn it on...but nothing happened. could that be what caused the problems?
UPDATE: took the battery out for approximately 10 minutes. put it back in, and the phone turns on again...one short vibration while the screen is still black, then the "stick together" screen pops up and the phone vibrates 7 more times....annnnnd freezes again. its also starting to get very hot on the bottom, backside...

Stuck after SoftSPL procedure

Hello there.
I´m really new but certanly i have read a lot on the forums. Still I have managed to mess everything once more.
I have a wizard love G4
ROM Version 2.26.10.2.wwe
Rom date 06/07/06
Radio 02.25.11
Protocol 4.1.13.12
ExtROM 2.26.10.105
Messed around with the splash screen from equinoxe and to make it work i needed to update the RUU from 2.00.1 that was on the installation files to RUU 2.5.2 that was extracted from an HTC.exe rom update download.
Finally it worked just fine.
Then, i decided to give it a go on the SoftSPL procedure in order to install the Black Diamond 2.0 touch rom on my phone so I placed the downloaded "Safe ROM" on the ROM folder. Started the application and everything was looking good. Then the RUU came up with the 2.00.1 version so I was a little worried, but then the so called white screen on the cell phone started but with a progress bar (how convenient)... I´m not sure if i was supposed to see the progress bar at all on the cell phone or just a full white screen.
Anyway, after 10 minutes give or take, the bar got to 100% and the pc software said Congratulations... but then the cell phone automatically restarted and inmediatelly it went to the bootloader three color screen.
I proceded with a hard reset before anything, right on the bootloader screen, (radio and voice buttons hold with reset button and then the send button accepting the restore to factory). Then the phone restarted but also in bootloader screen. So i decided to turn it off by holding the power button for a while. It did turn of, but this is where everything goes crazy... it does not turn on again... it even don´t show no led light when connecting the phone to the usb or the ac wall adapter...
This happened to me a few days ago using the shelltool with the same Black Diamond 2.0 Touch rom but probably i made a different mistake back then.
Anyway I removed the battery and the sim card and reinserted everything again, even tryed it out without the battery and direct connection.
When this happened to me the first time, I just leaved the phone without the battery all night and on the next day it turned on but on the bootloader so I drove it to our local unlocker that managed to re-install the wizard-love once again.
I´m wondering if anyone is having this same issues, or something similar.
Probably i should have ask first if the Black Diamond 2.0 was a safe g4 rom, which i´m not sure but won´t dare to try it again.
I had the same problem.
i'm afraid using the SoftSPL now :S
Try the TNT 5. I used soft spl to install tnt 5 from the wizard love rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328917
They have a touch version u can think about.
Yes!!!! I love it now!
I downloaded the last SoftSPF. Now it runs a little slower on the first checking part but then it turned the screen all white!!!! Beautiful scary little issue that fortunatelly equinoxe stated on the flashing instructions.
Then I went for the TNT 5.0 Professional with HTC Home Plug-in on my CID LOCKED QTEK-9100 (But that it´s actually looking exactly like a 8125 Cingular), and it did it!.
One question tough... I´m running windows vista on my personal computer so I flashed the cell phone on another computer at my office that has windows xp, but still inside the TNT 5.0 Professional installation pack there is a RUU that states Windows Vista Update Utility. I´m wondering if this would actually run under vista... If so, then I believe that you can make SoftSPF also run under vista by just changing the 2.exe file on the SoftSPF compilation with this Vista_ROMUpdateUtility.exe file on the TNT 5.0 Professional compilation release.
Anyone care to try?
Probably I will be trying to flash a new radio with this RUU Vista utility under vista, to see if it flashes... If it does, then i don´t see why you can´t run try it out under vista.
I´m attaching only the RUU for vista so you can put inside any nk.nbf with it to use it under vista.

Your screen should turn white, completely white... Not white with a progress bar. That is the RUU that you were seeing. Haret.exe cause the screen to crash and then it turns completely white. THIS IS NORMAL.
Try using this version: SoftSPL - RC1. Before I got a G3 and CID unlocked it, this version of SoftSPL worked for me time and time again.
Thank Dan.
Actually the new SoftSPL worked like a charm. The screen went blank as a crash, and 10 minutes later i was on a TNT 5.0 Professional Qtek.

Please Help...

I posted this in the Titan forum by mistake. Sorry for the duplication
I need some help...I'm freaking out...
I cooked a ROM with dcd's version 1.6.9 for BELL a few days ago and it was wonderful and worked great.
Today, I tried to upgrade to version 1.6.10 and I f___ed something up.
It starts the htc boot up screen as usual, then the Bell screen comes up as usual, then a Sprint screen comes up briefly and then the Windows Mobile screen comes on and HANGS........
I have tried cold reboots, and nothing. I cant connect to it with USB.
I can kick myself for making an error because I was rushing......
Can anyone please help............................

Try the hard reset.
If that doesn't work then try the bootloader mode and reflash it.
Hard reset
Hard reset did not help, it hangs on windows mobile screen.
Can u give me a bit more detail on how to get into the bootloader mode?
I figured it out. You have to but it into bootloader mode by pressing the POWER and CAMERA buttons at the same time and then reboot.
Then load ROM as usual'
Thankyou
You are the fing master. OMG mine was in the EXACT situation and i was freaking out. its currently reloading the ROM back on. Thank you soooooo much.
it probably happenned because modules overlapped, run g'reloc before building to avoid this.

[Q] HTC HD2 stuck at the startup screen pls help

Hello, my HD2 started entering the re-boot loop probably because of overheating (I live in a warm country and it started showing problems during the summer). After that, I installed the new official rom from the HTC website (finding a SN online :S) after trying to install the new rom I realised I shouldn't have tried that since it wasn't made for my SN. Anw after that the phone is kind of dead, freezes at the HTC boot screen. I have installed HSPL 1.42 on it but I can't load any new rom (I enter the bootloader - that's the only way I can think of since I got lost in a zillion posts) When it starts loading the new roms into the phone I get a 276 error saying it can't finished the procedure. (after such an error on the startup screen I still see the HTC logo but this time with black and white stripes covering the screen). I can't seem to find something similar in the other posts, I hope it wasn't answered somewhere previously. Even if so please redirect me or tell me what else to try since I'm quite frustrated!.. Please explain thoroughly because it's been a while since I was into hd2 tech stuff. Thank you in advance!
PS: Can I somehow find what rom I currently have IF there is one installed? I'm lost here....

check the battery pins. ive read of people for whom it is possible to get into bootloader, and it seems like normal, but then it fails to load when trying to boot fully, usually a reboot loop.
forget about finding what rom is on there currently, its time wasted, really.
a better use of your time is using your serial to find out which rom the htc website will let you have, and flash that, from sd card preferably.
Why not just reset the phone, and start over?
found a good rom, installed it via sd card, still reboot loop. that make me think that the problem might be the battery pins. if so what's the solution?
same thing happend to me just adjust the pins

how do you adjust the pins? They're supposed to be straight right?

[Q] Help needed to unbrick HD2 - After restoring WinMo rom

Hi guys,
I successfully flashed Android to my HD2 a few months back. I used what I believe is Cotulla's rom(?). However the other day my phone sorta died and whenever I plugged it into the charger it would vibrate go through the boot screen and reset at the "1234 go go go" stage. I read some reading on the forum and flashed it back to "RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship" from the HTC website, using the SD card. Windows mobile restored the phone and I started using it again.
I tried to put android back on it and I think I unsuccessfully tried to update the radio after which the phone sorta died again. So I thought ok, no problem, lets get back to windows again. So I installed the HTC rom again through the SD card, which the screen told me was successful. But now I can't get the phone to boot or go into bootloader or anything. When I plug the charger in, I get a vibrate and HTC bootscreen, with the red writing at the bottom left and then dead to only do this again and again. If i pull out the charger, the phone just dies. Battery charge was about 50% when it died.
Any ideas or help on how to resurrect my beloved HD2 would be greatly appreciated!
*quick update*
I stuck the phone in the fridge for a while and managed to get it into the bootloader just once and flashed the official winmo rom again, which was successful but still dead phone!
What made you decide to stick the phone in the fridge??
What is your SPL version??

Probably the dozens of threads that talk about successfully flashing only when the phone has been cooled.
@op it doesn't look good. Usually the fridge trick working implies hardware overheating issues.
Just confirm please, its not a tmous right?
Samsamuel is right, i just read about it and thought hey, why not! plus it got a priceless look from the mrs! lol
It's definitely not TMOUS, its UK Virgin and the SPL was 3.03.0000 if I recall correctly.
When I cool it, I can get it into bootloader, but only once.
well, i still suspect its hardware and unfixable, but there have been cases where for whatever reason a rom suddenly seems to fix it. Try all the versions of the correct stock Rom.
Try the 1.43 the 1,66 and again the 3.14, wwe ones, chilling the phone well before each flash, a good 20 mins.

[Q] Bricked/QHUSB-DLOAD mode with S-ON

I have little hope for this, but thought I'd post it up anyway before buying a new phone. I have been using the JellyBomb ROM for about two weeks now, and until today it was working fine. Then (seemingly) randomly, while I was browsing a webpage in Firefox, the phone locked up.
"Okay, I'll just force a hard reboot." So I held down the power button and it turned off. When I turned it back on, it got stuck at the HTC screen (I let it sit for about 15 minutes). So I did another hard reboot and booted into bootloader (power + vol down), which came up fine. I went into recovery (TWRP 2.3), which took about 5-10 minutes to move past the TEAMWIN splash screen into the menu.
Once in the menu, I went to reflash the ROM, but no files showed up in either the internal or external storage which I found strange. I then went to reboot from the menu, at which point TWRP informed me that I had no OS installed. At that point, TWRP froze up, so I did a hard power off again and tried to boot it back into recovery but nothing happened. The soft buttons didn't even flash like usual.
Once I had access to my computer, I plugged it in, hoping that something would change with it connected to a PC. At that point, the Windows driver manager reported failure at installing a driver. I checked device manager to see that I had a QHUSB-DLOAD device connected. After some Googling, I attempted Unlimited.IO's fix tool (using a Linux live CD, obviously). I had little hope, however, because my device was S-ON. And sure enough, although the tool reported completion there was no change to the phone.
So, now that that long-winded (and hopefully sufficiently detailed) story is complete, does anyone have any suggestions/advice/instructions for me?
Thanks!

Hey elead got your pm and I'm sorry this has occurred to you. I'm not familiar with the unlimited IO. But I will suggest that you allow your phone to charge tonight while its off... The reason for this is I believe the battery has fallen to a level such that will not allow the boot process to work... Having said that allow it to charge the night... Then see if it will boot into bootloader in the morning. If it does this you should be able to flash an ruu. I realize this is a stressful time, I've been in your shoes before and actually bricked. BUT, I believe your phone is salvalgeable and with a proper charge you be able to fix the issue... Please report back in the morning and let me know... Ok??
