Well.. It certainly is thorough. A tad too much text for me and it's not as straightforward as it could have been, but it seems alright.
By any chance, is there any possibility it could be stripped down even further? I don't care about the disclaimers as it's common sense that whomever writes a guide is not to be blamed if something isn't working as it should do by the end of such guide.
I have fully working adb drivers for my phone. I know that since I have used adb multiple times lately. It is branded and sim locked to Three (operator in Sweden)
Is it possible to strip it down to, say this format:
1. bla bla bla
2. do this
3. do that
4. then do this
5. etc. etc. etc.
Do you understand? I'd like it if it was much less text and short but straightforward numbered "to-do's".
If it is not doable, I will have to go through your texty guide and I sincerely thank you for at least making an easier guide than that of the_laser. Kudos to him for making it possible to unlock our bootloaders.

I'll try. Many people have been posting questions that already have been long answered by stuff already in first post, so I'm nervous about what they'll do if I strip it down .

The thanks button is right next to the quote button. It is not visible when on Tapatalk or any other Tapatalk based apps.
Leave the bootloader unlocked. If you relock it, it will reject the custom kernel.
Hi thanks for your reply, I'll try it out to night so that I can install CM7, I'm on CM6 at the mo.
Regards
guys help me, it came out that I had setool2, and as I do the unlock with the appropriate file, my result was that the lost cell coverage and probe and using the file SEMC and has not been solved, I've tried everything and I am scared: block again with the setool1 bootloader, I have spent the cel by SEUS.
really do not know what else to do

Credit goes to SpyderX!
If you relock your bootloader while using a custom kernel your phone will be bricked!
1. Download S1tool and extract it to an appropiate location on your PC (not needed if you already have s1tool) . (Credits go to the_laser for this tool)
S1tool post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...0&postcount=26
Direct download link: http://db.tt/OrOQO33
2. Then, download and Install Flashtool v0.2.9.1 beta (don't use 0.3.0.0 as profile for our phones need to be added. It's simpler to use 0.2.9.1 beta) Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Download Link: http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
(Credits go to Androxyde and Bin4ry for this tool.)
After installing it, open the flashtool folder and open the drivers folder inside that. Double click on the ggsetup-2.2.0.10.exe file inside and install Gordon's Gate (needed for Flashtool to work).
Note: This Gordon's Gate Driver Installation will work for X8, X10 mini and X10 mini pro. I'm not sure about that of W8 but I think that is also supported.
Note: This Flashtool and Gordon's Gate installation is not needed if you have already done this.
3. Turn off your phone.
4. Launch s1tool.exe in the folder you extracted s1tool to.
5. Click on Restore button and then connect your phone to the PC in flash mode (press and hold back button while connecting your phone to the PC).
6. Wait for the process to complete. Congratulations! You now have relocked your bootloader!

guys did any of you coming out "simlock setool2 certificate"?
is that my I get that and try from ginger.DX and lost the cellular signal
SE Tweaker Tool is a Tool + Guide to make some tweaks to ur phone With ease.. For Now it Only Supports X10 mini pro | X10 mini | X8 | W8
This TOOL includes of all the necessary utilities like Root/UnRoot for Xperia U20i and Xperia X8, installing CWM Recovery for FOR Xperia U20i and Xperia X8, UNLOCKING/RELOCKING THE BOOTLOADER FOR X10 mini pro | X10 mini | X8 | W8 With necessary guide [ tried to make it as simple as possible ]
NOTE: Dealing with the bootloader is highly dangerous and can result in a hard brick if you don't follow the proper instructions. Then, you will have to go and repair your phone by sending it to SE. I am not responsible if your phone dies on you because you didn't follow instructions or you screwed up somehow.
Only For people getting error related iscoolbutton.ocx.. Just Run the ocx_fix.bat in the downloaded tool and then Run the SE Tweaker Tool..
For Rooting n stuffs just click it on the ROOT/Unroot button in the tool [Supports Xperia u20i and Xperia X8 for now]
For Unlocking Bootloader read below:
Requirements: Rooted phone, Sony Ericsson PC Companion installed in PC, Courage
You do not need to have a sim lock on your phone to unlock your Bootloader.
Recommended: ----'
-->Disable your Antivirus (it might find a "virus" in ADB.exe even though there isn't one and might even interfere in bootloader unlocking process)
-->USB debugging enabled..
Note: Unlocking the bootloader of your phone will restore the original sim lock of your phone (if you had any) unless if you unlocked with EMMA/IMEI unlock code or it was factory-unlocked or if SE unlocked it! However, some users have reported that using msm7227_semc.cmd on their sim-unlocked phones did not restore the sim lock onto their phone. Unlock the bootloader on your sim unlocked phone AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Download the files needed for the unlock.
Download Flashtool (needed for S1tool to work properly and for loading custom kernels next time) and install it (not necessary if you already have Flashtool):
Download and install Flashtool v0.5.3 here (follow instructions on the website): http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
(Credits go to Androxyde and Bin4ry for this tool.)
After installing it, open the flashtool folder and open the drivers folder inside that. Double click on the ggsetup-2.2.0.11.exe file inside and install Gordon's Gate.
Then restart your computer... if you dont Find GORDAN'S gate.exe in the drivers folder download it from my attachments ..
Steps To unlock Bootloader: [SUPPORTS X10 mini pro | X10 mini | X8 | W8]
1) After installing Gordans Gate and the flashtool Turn off your phone.
2) Download SE Tweaker Tool AlsoMirror[Mediafire] and unzip it.
3) Run SE_Tweaker_Tool.exe from it.
NOTE: If no flashtool download from the dialog box appeared after running unlockbootloader.exe
4) Turn off ur phone
5) Select unlock_bootloader button.. run S1tool button to check if the your phone has SIM UNLOCK CERTIFICATE.[i.e click on "Do" in s1tool and compare the output]
6) Boot your phone into flash mode (make sure you installed Gordon's Gate and usb debugging is on). All users, press and hold back button while connecting cable from PC to phone. Continue holding back button until you get some output. The LED on your phone should flash green if it is in flash mode.
7) Click on how it should look.. it will give u an idea how the output will be..
NOTE- At this moment you should know if you have SIM UNLOCK CERTIFICATE or what ever the output was.. keep that in mind..
8) Now disconnect[/COLOR] your phone n boot it up.Connect it again to PC (make sure your USB DEBUGGING is enabled and antivirus is disabled)
9) Now click the check box which is right for you [Read them carefully it will be according to the output you got with s1tool] run the corressponding button..
10) After it proceed to check if the unlocking of bootloader was done by clicking Check If your "Bootloader is unlocked And Proceed" button..
11) Reboot your phone to flashmode as before.. Run s1tool.. N compare the output..
If the line RUNNING S1_EROM FROM VER "#8A02$" has a lowercase "r" letter replacing the "#" (RUNNING S1_EROM FROM VER "r8A02$"), your bootloader has been unlocked . If it has an uppercase "R" replacing the "#" (RUNNING S1_EROM FROM VER "R8A02$"), your bootloader is NOT unlocked.
Re-locking the Bootloader Follow the steps in the Tool

When it displays ''R4A045''? Was the R originaly a small r or capital R? This actualy is a big difference to decide whether your bootloader is unlocked or not.

correct! If you want to acces root you now have to download http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...de-root-cwm-unlock-bootloader-custom-t2403929 that and run the runme.bat file. Connect your phone and you should be running ICS 4.0.4. I had the 89 when I rooted. Enable usb debugging, you can search on how to do that and after that you connect your device to your pc and click 1 on the runme.bat file and hit enter. Wait for the magic and if you are stuck at ''if succes i will tell you'' part, wich I was. Just unplug your phone, reboot and go to your appdrawer and find the ''make a copy and restore'' app and click on find a copy and click on ''root'' (something like that) and after that click restore. Reboot and then download kingroot, the latest is recommended. And roooooooot . After that you may want to replace the kingroot root authorizer with super su. This is optional but I recommend it. Follow http://androidmtk.com/replace-kinguser-with-supersu that tutorial and you should be good to go!
Well this thread is extremely old so I suppose it should be closed.
For those who already have a QUALCOMM BOOTLOADER
1. Enter OSBL MODE.
WARNING: IF YOU GET FORMAT DISK MESSAGE IN WINDOWS - ALWAYS CLICK CANCEL.
2.Switch off the phone.
3. Press Volume UP and Power Key and wait for the short buzz abd release both butons. (To boot into NAND disk mode).
WARNING: IF YOU GET FORMAT DISK MESSAGE IN WINDOWS - ALWAYS CLICK CANCEL.
3. Run the oneClick DOWNLOADER (comes with the latest firmwares)
4. Choose the ROM. FLASH.
5. Once complete take the battery out; Re-Assemble, Switch on
OTHERS follow the following POST
NOTE: I do not take credit for any of the work by respective developers. I'm a lame user and that's my best quality. I would prefer things to be simple enough, if not I find one.
So for those who have been looking around for a Nokia Lumia 710 FULL UNLOCK and are jumbled with programs X, Y and Z and files A, B, C; everything seems right when your are following some steps and then, at some point of time, unfortunately for some it stuck and sucks. I've tried many things and the following is the one I like the most and find the easiest. Best of all, you don't have to worry about the DLOAD.
NOTE: One small mistake and you might brick the phone, so be careful.. I or the developers nor the forum is anyway responsible for your loss. But if you be careful, you won't have to worry.
READ the entire post and understand BEFORE you TRY
Step 1:
Download the required softwares.
( All required files are hyper-linked below )
i)> NSS PRO 0.48 or NSS PRO 0.51
ii)> QUALCOMM BOOTLOADER for Lumia 710
iii)> Depending on your system configuration, Windows USB Drivers either x86 or x64
iv)> Any one of your desired Custom ROM :
A. Rataplan Final, based on Nokia firmware 1600.3037.8862.13170 ,
B. Lumiatrix^8 V 5.1 based on 7.10.8835.35
C. Reality ROM based on 7.10.8858.136
D. fabiode34's Custom ROM
NOTE: You need only one ROM. so pick any. I've been using RATAPLAN's ROM.
Do Not Forget to thanks the Developer, whose ROM you are using.
Step 2:
Once you have all the files with you do prepare the program files for the FLASH.
a. Install the USB driver as per your system.
b. Extract the bootloader to a folder. You will get the following two files
RM803_12w07_prod_generic_nokia_osbl.esco
RM803_11w48_prod_raw_nokia_osbl.binc. Extract the NSS to a folder
Now copy the two bootloader files to the following folder within NSS folder
loaders\special\wp7Extract the Custom ROM to a folder. You should get a .nb file. If not, try another ROM
IF you did the steps as stated, you are all ready.
Now before proceeding, make sure you have Enough battery back up on your phone and for the PC/Laptop (in case there is a powercut and you don't have enough backup, you won't have to but another paperweight.).
Step 3:
Flash your phone:
Did I Miss Something. No. You don't have to check for DLOAD. Not for Lumia 710. I already made it clear.
a. Connect your phone to PC. You don't have to do any button pressing or have to go to recovery mode.
b. Launch the NssPro.exe from the NSS folder in admin mode. Grant all the permissions the application asks for, if any.
When the allpication window is launched, make sure you know what is where. Use the snap for reference

Make sure, you select the USB port from port selection and alllow the application to detect the phone.
Once the application detects the phone it will show "Nokia USB connectivity.
Change the application mode to FLASHING
On the right side select WP7 Tools. You will get the Bootloader tools..
c. Now refer the following screenshot and proceed.
i. In Advance Connectivity section select NORMAL Mode and then WP7 Qualcomm, if it does not detect automatically.
ii. In Bootloader tool select the OS file and locate your CUSTOM ROM to it.
Once you proceed further there is no going back. So be careful. Make sure that you have all the files in place as stated earlier and also you have installed all the drivers. Use CUSTOM ROMs for Lumia 710 only (Either your own or reliable developers). When Windows asks for format, ignore it. Do not respond to any pop up from any application other than the NSS. You should not leave the PC unattended for whatsoever reason. NEVER choose YES for FORMAT, simply close it.
iii. Hit the install. When asks for confirmation, select yes.
Wait for a while. Do Not Panic. Phone will go blank and will start in NAND DISK mode in a while. The connectivity mode will switch to NAND DISK DRIVE mode.. If Format option pop-ups, Select NO.
iv. Check the advance connectivity mode, and set as stated earlier to NORMAL and WP7 Qualcomm.
v. Hit the Write OS in the Bootloader tools. Wait for a while (usually 5 to 10 mins) Be patient. NSS will ask to restart the phone.
You cannot restart the phone. Take the battery out. Then again put it back and boot the phone.Close the NSS tool and any other pop-ups.
Your phone is now unlocked and loaded with a custom ROM
Step 4.
REACTIVATION of phone.
Your phone is ready to be used if you have used a correct ROM.
Sometimes, if you install a locked ROM or on on a Locked phone, your phone will be locked for LIVE ID usage. you'll have to ACTIVATE the phone to use LIVE login. You can still use other features though. Do not worry, as activation is as simple as chatting with a buddy. Just CLICK HERE and use chat and ask the customer care executive for activation code. They will need few of the details of the phone, and they will give the code. use this code to unlock LIVE usage.
Once again, I take no credit for the work. I'm just sharing the info in a clean manner. I use the method and works for me. Your Phone Your responsibility.
All links were alive when posting. If any link is dead, PM me. Response will not be prompt, but I'll make sure I respond to your requests.

Whenever i plug in my phone it comes up as a qualcomm device, and the first part of your instructions went perfectly
Check prerequisite files.
Hi,
If the first part went right, you should have no problem for the second part. First part is the critical part here.
(Even I Had faced the same problem many times. Downloading and replacing the files should do it.)
Here are the possibilities:
If the first part went right; the phone will go to service mode; the USB should disconnect and reconnect automatically. You'll get the FORMAT disk message and you should select NO or simply close it.
If you accidentally click on YES, your phone is a gonner
If everything is correct, NOKIA USB CONNECTIVITY should change to NAND DISK. And you can p[roceed with second part.
NOTE1. If first part is not pass, the second part cannot be initiated.
2. If first part is pass, the second part MUST be completed.
What if I just want to unlock the phone and not to install the custom rom...thus it will work i mean it'll unlock my phone using the qualcomm loader files only.

Well, That is completely upto you. But consider the following scenarios, b'cause I have no idea what your UNLOCK mode means.
Case 1: If phone software is not hacked, you cannot install YOUR own softwares without having to purchase from the MarketPlace. You'll have to install applications only through MarketPlace.
Case 2: If you think, installing the Qualcomm bootloader will unlock your phone, then you are mistaking; it will only enable your phone to install any firmware on it (simply saying it will be a dumb rock until you install a firmware).
Case 3: If your phone is carrier locked, and you want to use it on any other network: Simply insert the new SIM card and follow the LAST LINK IN THE ORIGINAL POST. But use it only after a fresh ROM installation or Phone Hard Reset.

Hi,
Have you downloaded and installed all the files as needed. (All the required files are hyperlinked within the description).
It works for me on Win7, both 32 and 64 bit.
Make sure you have installed the proper USB driver for your system (from Step 1 / sub step iii). This is mainly the reason for phone detection.
Check if it helps.

Phenominal post!
I've successfully unlocked my Lumia 710 and flashed Rataplan V6.0 to my phone! Everything's working great, except I need to figure out my APN settings to get MMS working again. :L
The only suggestion I'd make for your Layman's guide is to make sure to let everyone know that they will lose anything that isn't backed up! Pictures, SMS, some contacts that aren't on your SIM etc. It may be common knowledge to some, but I didn't know. It's no big deal for me though.
Anyways, thanks a bunch! Great post!

Installing Custom ROMs help!!!!
So i downloaded rainbow mod 2.1 and the downloader.exe. I also have fully unlocked my Lumia 710 with Nokia Care suite 5.0. The porblem is, when i launch downloader.exe and click download ROM, it says "Lumia Disks not founded!" and tells me to put my phone in osbl bode, which i did. HELP ME PLZ!!!
Hi at all,
I have a Lumia 710 with DLOAD bootloader version 7.33.0 and OS version 7.10.8862.144.
Can I install a Custom ROM (Rataplan V7.0) with this method?
Guys, I have a nokia Lumia 510 with a DLOAD bootloader. Any Ideas how I can get a custom Firmware on to it? And will the process of changing the bootloader as specified above work for my phone? Please work on a custom ROM for it!! :crying:
Please kindly refer to the thread and read the details steps and instructions because it seems like everyone is trying to hit the unlock procedure without knowing that the stable(global) version of the ROM is not apt for the official or any unofficial unlock procedure !
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DISABLED DRIVER SIGNATURE VERIFICATION IN YOUR SYSTEM.
Unlocking Bootloader Procedure:
1. Download zip file (recovery file) of OFFICIAL MIUI China developer ROM for your device :
http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.12.8/miui_HM3SGlobal_6.12.8_b00ffce744_6.0.zip
Please don't get confused with the link as it's indeed a Developer ROM by 'global' in between the link and not the Global stable ROM, you can check it yourself.
Other ROM would not work. Then put it into phone storage. Go to Updater app, press the three dot on upper right corner, and select 'Choose update package'. Choose the zip file you just put in phone storage. The update will wipe all user data, please make backup beforehand.
2. Log into the Mi account which has acquired unlocking permission on your device. Make sure it's the same with the account you sent your request. It's recommended to connect to the Internet for Mi account to sync
3. Turn off your device, press the Power button and Volume - button at the same time to enter bootloader mode
4. Log into the unlocking tool on PC with the same Mi account. Connect the device with the PC using USB cable
5. Press 'Unlock'. The unlocking process will complete in about 10 seconds
For those who already bricked your devices you may using Mi PC SUITE to reflash your device. You are advised to download it to install necessary files (ADB and so on) .
Hi... as far as i know.. you need to be on the same rom from which you have applied for bootloader unlock..
i bought new redmi 3s last week.. and same day applied for unlock... and when going through different threads.. lot of people saying that we need to be in developer rom or Chinese rom to unlock boot loader..so i downloaded global developer and installed it..
with in 2 days i got confirmation from xiaomi that i have permission for unlock.. to my bad.. every time i tried to unlock boot loader its stuck at 50% with current device information is different error..
so finally decided to downgrade to the same version from which i applied for unlocking.. so tried Deep flash cable method to put phone in qualcom loader to bypass bootloader... and installed same global stable version.. after successfully installing stable version tried unlocking.. and voila... bootloader unlocked with in 10 Seconds...without any hitch...
So if you want to unlock bootloader... wait for atleast 7 days after you get confirmation message from xiaomi...

Yes, glad someone else noticed it too. Yes I had trouble for a lot of days with developer ROM after getting permission a week back but no luck.
PS: Disabling Driver Signature Verification is paramount in this process.
