[Q] Google Talk Video on UnNamed 2.1.1 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I'm trying to use video chat with Google Talk running UnNamed and the users on the other end are unable to see me. I've tried this from 2 different accounts/users and pc's and the result is the same. Audio is there, I can see them but from their end it's just displaying both of our avatars. I've also noticed that there is a lock icon in my window preview.
Has anybody been able to video chat using google talk on UnNamed?

Okay, Gtalk on UnNamed works only on wifi, unless you have enabled it such as Market application GTalkEnabler or various other methods that asks you edit some files to enable it, in oredr to work on 3g/4g.
Once you have installed GtalkEnabler, click on the app and there will be a check box against " Allow 3g/4g Gtalk Video Chat" and check that, and it should work, This is how I made it work.
Some Custom ROMs come with Gtalk pre-enabld, but somehow GTG decided not to activate it somehow, I don't know why.
In Marrket, look for "Enable Video Chat over 3g/4g".

Thanks guys i'm not sure why it's not working. It doesn't even work over wifi. I know I had used it before I flashed to from stock rom and it had worked. I was just curious if anyone else was having trouble since I couldn't find any threads up on here about it.

Thanks again for confirming it does indeed work, i was finally able to track it down to end user problem on pc clients. Must have finally goggled the right terms and found a google lab called "Video Chat Enhancement" and once having them enable that I can chat with them again.
No problem with UnNamed at all!

4G/35 Google Talk Video Chat

Hey guys, I'm running CherryBlur v1.4d, and video chat via Google Talk on that works like a charm, but, it's restricted to Wifi only. I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063767 which apparently in the past has worked for people who've booted Kenn's rom, but, I can't get it to work with CherryBlur, is there any other way to make it work on 4G/3G?
Don't know what to tell you, works fine for me in Ninja SF4.5 and worked for me on CherryBlur 1.4. Did you follow step for step and then reboot?

Yup, paid for the programs, went in, did the change, rebooted, nothing.
You must have done something incorrectly. If you search the Apps and Games forum there's a Google Talk thread in the first page or two.
It has many different versions, but if you install the one labelled for no-Wifi it'll definitely work. I was using it all day yesterday.
Also, don't forget that if someone's using it through iGoogle or Gmail, have them go to Settings > Labs and enable the enhanced Google Talk and Video feature. It'll give them better picture and voice quality.
did you check after reboot that you edited the gservices.db file correctly?
BTW, you don't have to pay for an SQLite editor, there are two free ones in the market.
I finally got it to work, turns out before I apparently just didn't have enough cell service. It won't work on 3G, only on "4G"
I wrote a free, open source app to do this.
It is on the market: http://market.android.com/developer?pub=Innodroid
The source code is here: http://code.innodroid.com/gtalkenabler
Give it a try and let me know how it goes. The app requires root, of course...

Skype Question

I'm trying to video chat with someone on skype and apparently when they try to video chat it says unable to connect. Is skype working fully on the Thunderbolt yet or is something up? I'm running an aosp rom if that matters.
Appreciate any insight

I have done it with newest version of Skype from Market. You need to be on Gingerbread to use FFC though. I have successfully done it TB to TB, TB to DINC2, and TB to PC via Skype.
You both need go into the Skype app, from the main screen press menu then settings. Go all the way down and ensure the Enable Video Calls is checked.

I've done this and enabled video chat. However, when i actually try to videochat with someone (been trying with a PC), it reverts to voice only as soon as the call is connected.
Also, with google video chat, i installed the patch for rooted users to allow it to work, but all i get is a screen full of a big mess of color and stuff, plus a little box in the bottom with my video feed in it. really strange.
Running Synergy if that matters.
works just fine on bamf 3.0
Jwb

Harry Potter, you need to go to your contacts and find someone who's online. Longpress their name and hit "Skype video call".

Once you've updated to the latest version of Skype. Open it up and press the menu button on your tab and click settings and navigate to the button to enable video calling.

it does work. However at the start after installing, ut mentioned it doesn't recognise this device, and there is one annoying bug.. Keeps showing Skype signed in at the bottom right corner where it blocks the digital clock.. But it doesn't happen al the time...

If your phone is rooted, search for "Enable Video Chat over 3g/4g" in the market & install , that will enable voice/video chat on 3g/4g on Gtalk.
Good luck!
+1 for that app. works great.
I can't get that app to enable video over 3g. Im rooted but on stock. When I try to enable it errors out and asks if I have the video version of google talk. Any thoughts.

Do you mean you could not get "Enable Video Chat over 3g/4g" from market? Once you install ( would prompt for root access), you should be able to use Gtalk over 34/4g on stock ROM too, it works for me.
Not sure if this helps, but I found this in another thread and it worked for me.. I'm sharing in case there are others like me who try to minimize the number of apps they have..

Or "Talk 1.3 Installer" from Market

No, i was able to download the app from the market, but upon enabling it, it would error out.
I went around it by manually changing the wifi-only string from true to false.

Google.android.quicksearchboxindicator

Anybody can help me identify this issue.
Whenever I am trying to use my recorder, either audio or video. The box will come out saying (if I am trying to record a video) "camera is currently recording audio. com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox:interactor will not be able to record right now"
What is annoying, once the box comes out it will stop my recording.
Please shed some light anyone.
I am using a Huawei P9+
Thanks
Ok google interrupt with other audio services
Hey,
I had the same problem on the same device.
Only thing that helps me out was disabling the google recognition on every screen in the google settings. Hope that helps you either but its remarkable because i used it a long time very active and now i get this box every time.. really annoying hope there is another solution.
Greets
How can you do that,to disable google recognition on every screen?thx

I had the same issue with my Honor 8 and it would pop-up each time I was trying to record something w/ the video camera (that it ended up messing up some shots).
Long story short, I tried the following suggestion on YouTube:
but this tip didn't work for me... not sure if it's b/c I upgraded my Honor to Android 7.0 (I'm basing this off of my screen choices looking different than the video).
But then I tried the suggestion on this video:
,
and it finally seems to be working... NO MORE POP-UPs! Woo-hoo!
Hope this helps!
Video fixed pop up message but other issue occurred.

So your video got rid of the annoying pop up message, but I found out that this disabled the mic when using the voice commands "OK Google". I had to enable the Google Mic services again in order to use the Google Voice commands again, which caused the pop up message to show up again.

Can you try removing the Google search app and reinstalling? That may work in getting the mic service to work again while keeping the pop-up suppressed.
