[Q] Live wallpapers - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I just rooted my phone a few days ago and i've done some Titanium Backup-ing and installed some apps that i felt ain't needed anymore. Now i can't seem to set live wallpapers on my mini pro. Anybody know why? I'm using the stock home launcher by the way

oops, I think Mr carlosmacapagal wiped out "Live Wallpaper Picker" .
Now if you've used TT backup correctly you'd have done a backup before using the Un-Install! button

[Q] Bloatware... what's safe to remove from MT4G?

I know HOW to remove the bloatware from Android phones using Titanium Backup Pro, but I'm curious to know what bloatware is SAFE to remove without causing any major problems with the OS. Thoughts, ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I took off faves, modes as well. Also amazon, setup, all themes, swype if you don't use it. I think that was about it. Make sure you do a good nandroid backup before you do it, so you can restore all of it if you need to take it back in for some reason.

Did you delete ALL your themes or did you just delete the ones you weren't using? Also deleting modes and faves didn't conflict with anything? I was kinda on the fence on these apps
Nope I used titanium backup to uninstall the stuff, I also did take off amazon as well

Do I need to be s-off or just perm rooted to delete system apps? because when I try to delete some of the themes or system apps with Titanium Backup and I restart my phone they come back. Please Help!

With Titanium backup, you don't have to uninstall, if you want to keep them in case you need them later. You can simply 'freeze' the apps. This way, you keep them, they just go out of system memory and the icons will not show up either on your Launcher.

You cannot delete system apps via Titanium Backup. You can only backup the data. You will need Root Explorer or something equivalent to delete the system app. Make sure you make a backup first though.

Thanks. Did not know that. Thought system apps were off limits with Titanium Backup.
Here is the thread I saw that says it does system apps are off limits. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835810

Ti Backup cannot backup system apps - only their data. It can, however, remove them with the 'force remove' function.
But, a major +1 for freezing them instead. It might just save your ass, and it serves the same function as deleting the app anyway.
Can someone please share the htc lockscreen app from the app folder I mistakenly deleted it and the oden file

I wouldn't remove friend stream if you plan on using facebook. What happened, was the phone was constantly looking for friendstream to "sync" but since the app was gone, it never reported back as completing syncing...so i'd always have the circle with arrows "sync" in my task bar. got so annoying.
had no problem when I froze friend stream and still use FB.
Anyone know what the my device, my account and search people is listed under in titanium?
I can't seem to find them.
Also any one have a complete list of what can you can freeze or uninstall?
So far I only freeze but here is what I have:
AppPack Asphalt com.tmobile.theme x6 demo videos Faves x2 flickr Friend Stream x2 Gallery I use 3d HTC Weather locationPicker x2 Mail x2 Email account messager x2 my Downloads Provider (No clue what it does) my modes news x2 peep quickoffice ringtone trimmer rockband screen share setup stocks x2 t-mo tv themes provider (no clue what it does) TTS Service Twitter Visual Voice Mail Voicemail Weather x2 Weather Agent and provider
Has anyone uninstalled the genius button app after remapping the button to the search function? I don't use it at all and its always running...

Thanks. But what's wrong with mybackuppro? It's pretty quick with no issues. Why choose titanium over that exactly?
Also, SGS tools says it only works with touchwiz so its not working... Nero uses the 2.3 launcher.
I'm interested in how this works with titanium. I have the pay version, but can't see an option for backing up the homescreens. Or is it that you just backup the launcher + data?

Personally I've noticed that when I do restores using mybackup pro I get some data corruption which causes lagginess. With titanium I get no such lag. However I still use mybackup pro for sms, mms and such.
But I didn't know that sgs tools could backup home screens. Pretty cool.

live wallpaper apk

Hey does anyone seem to have this file? Just installed senseless n it's amazingly fast n all that I really want now is a live wallpaper. Please helpp
If your just wanting a live wallpaper. Just pull up Market and do a search for live wallpapers. They have several free ones to choose from.
nonono lol the rom I have doesn't have live wallpapers at all. I need the apk to instal live wallpapers. Like a backup from titanium backup. Now I also need the HTC news apk toooo -__- I hate new rooms lol
Restore a full sense backup and titanium all the stuff you want then go back and restore. Or pull it from a rom you have downloaded.

thanks for the help, but how would I pull it from a rom? Would it be easier to back up this rom, restore another, backup what I need, restore current rom then restore the apps

Yeah, that's what I said. Backup, restore then titanium what you want then restore and titanium what you saved. I've even gone in with astro and opened up my backup, went to the apps and installed what I needed, that was on my evo but should work just the same.

AppExtractor only does 5 at a time, unless you buy the unlock code or whatever, but it's awesome for restoring practically everything from your backups (SMS/MMS, Contacts/Call Log, Apps, App Data, etc.)
im in a generous mood

My way for doing this is to install every application from the market again, and then just restore app data with Titanium Backup. Try it for yourself and tell me if it helped. :3

Used To Happen With Me But Its Easy To Fix..
Make Sure Your Market Is Up To Date Which Is 3.44..
and then first do the same clear data and from manage application..
then open market choose your account (make sure its the one from which you downloaded those apps..)
then let it load go to my apps se whether its there if not wait for few hours and it will be done..
note- only those paid apps will be shown which you actually bought not the one you got from anywhere else even from the amazon app store..
Hit The Thanks Button If I Helped..
becaus ive flashed many roms Nd used many apps

Is there an alternative for Titanium Backup??

Hi all,
Ever since I switched to ICS i've been having trouble restoring my app+game data !! I'm extremely annoyed having to download my game data everytime I flash a ROM.
So my question is, is there any other app I could use instead of Titanium Backup??
Thank You.
MyBackup. Free version is valid for a month, Pro version is cheap - can't remember how much.
SystemApp Remover has a backup function, but I've never used it for that.
Both on play store.

Yes, ICS supported.
Go have released GoBackup now, i haven't used it yet though so cant comment.
Not many people know this but ES File Explorer has a back up functionality. If you've got that its always worth a try.
In ES Explorer, click on AppMgr on the toolbar, Select your apps and hit back up.
(that aside its an awesome app)
My backup root. For rooted phones only. Free from store.

Thanks for the feedback guys..I guess I should give MyBackup a try then...
I've never had that problem on ICS. TB works 100% for me!
Try changing the settings so it restores it to internal (phone) memory instead of auto or external sd card.

Works fine here. I restored games data for a lot of times. May be your version is culprit. I am using TB v4.0.2. Try that and make sure USB debugging is selected

Thanx for the reply bro. As I said previously TB worked perfect with me on Gingerbread..but not anymore since I moved to ICS. Restoring apps+data work fine but the weird thing is restoring games+data, it just never worked..It restores the game fine but when I run it it asks me to download the game data & USB Debugging is selected for sure.. i'm using version 4.7.7.1

Omega ROM version 8.0 and was on Resurrection Remix prior to that...
No problems with TB here
I'm running now on ICS 4.0.3 and using TB for back up. I don't have any problems with it. When you go and restore some games it would need to download again some files but the important thing is that, would it resume your game the last time you played it or will it come back to the beginning of the game? Meaning you go back to start? Because I did not experience it.
you can use system tuner pro fro backup/restore apps and data. its a paid version though, but you will get all the goodies required for tweaking with this app.
