[Q] Getting 2 Error Messages on my HTC Rezound - HTC Rezound

Ok I'm not rooted I just got this device the other day it's a warranty replacement device. I was on the Bionic but after 1 replacement device for that already and still have the same connection issues even after the supposed bug ota updates it was still causing a lot of problems. So the VZW Rep suggested I move to something else I chose the Rezound since I couldn't get the Nexus.
Ok so everything was working great up until I rebooted my phone tonight. Once I did that for some reason the Rezound decided that it wanted to keep rebooting over and over. Even after I pulled the battery and put it back in. So I finally booted up into the menu that gives you the option of recovery and factory reset. So I factory reseted the device but the first time I tried it rebooted in the middle of it. Then I did it again and it worked so after I finally got it to reset. It wasn't rebooting anymore, but now when I tried to sign into gmail or hotmail or any mail for that matter through htc I got 2 seperate error messages.
The first was "Warning 503 80201: Getting Toke Failed & Warning PGL licensing error" I think on the second one but not sure but the first error message is verbatim.
Has anyone seen this and corrected this problem? I wiped the phone several times but keep getting the error message. Any help would be greatly appreeciated. I did search the forums and found the same issue but the poster said he figured it out but didn't mention how. I haven't been able to find this anywhere else. So PLEASE HELP?! Thanks guys.

there is a stickied thread up top about bootloop problems. I would read the first few posts there. Might need to factory reset without the simcard in.

You can also ask how the other person fixed it in the thread you found or pm that person then post back the answer for anyone else who has this issue come up.

Touch screen problem

My atrix seems to have a problem with the touch screen on the top portion of the phone when I'm in portrait mode. For example, when I go into settings, I can't seem to click on wireless network settings.
I thought it may have been a problem with an app I had installed, so I turned on advanced task killer, but I couldn't click on kill all running apps since it's in that non functioning top portion of my screen. Lol
Now I'm here on the xda app and I couldnt click on the top portion to go to my favorite threads.
Obviously I've already done a power cycle a couple times. Sometimes it fixes it, but it doesn't fix it for long as the problem seems to randomly come back...
I'm considering doing a factory reset, but I'm rooted with designgears aroot script. I already thawed all the apps I've froze. Would it be OK to factory reset from there?
If anyone has any suggestions aside from doing a factory reset, it will be very much appreciated!

Ok, so factory reset did not work... I'm trying to flash DG's retail SBF and see if that does the trick now

Same thing here. Sometimes the widgets i have at the top of the screen won't respond when touched. Also my screen shifts back and forth on its own in portrait mode, kind of jiggles like the phone is being shaken. I unrooted, did a factory reset and still no joy. I'm going to flash the retail SBF tonight and see if that clears it up. If not back AT&T for a replacement or the HTC Inspire. (I'm still in my 30 day window)
I have the same problem.. I have done a hard reset, but it doesn't seem to fix it
I will try to flash DG's retail SBF today.
flashing the device didn't fix the issue
I ended up getting mine exchanged. Its strange that it only started to happen randomly.

Might want to double check and post in this thread: https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/362154/
Thanks, Reuben. I'm sorry to see that people are having this problem. I have the same problem but from the bottom of my touch screen. We've identified that when this happens, it's because the Internal SD was partitioned. Not sure what's causing the issue with the top of the screen for users though.
I sure hope a fix is rolled out. Many people have imported their Atrix's and it's hell trying to exchange it. I'd rather be able to just fix it!
This happened to my first atrix: bought the day after realease, problem developed withing 36 hours, I'd say.
At the time, I didn't think much of the issue (though it was simply unacceptable) and discounted mine as an inevitable lemon. Obviously, when I took it back (literally within 3 days of release) nobody had had this problem yet and the sales rep was baffled. Got an exchange and all is well now.
I believe it has something to do with a defective fingerprint reader that mucking with the screen, but I could be wrong.
Ultimately, my phone is fine now, haven't had a problem since the exchange. I would actually argue against it being a developing problem and, while it may take a couple days to manifest, more so an out of the box defect.
I'm glad I found this and it's not just me! I've had this phone a little over a week and it WAS running awesome but now not so much. I have more of the ghost finger or studder I've heard about. I found most of the issues texting and emailing or anything with typing. The rest of the time it works fine. Just really hard to respond quickly by any means.
It was running fine stock, then I rooted and it continued to run fine. Then over the last few days it's been a headache. I removed the root, still there, factory default, still there. It was even happening when I was trying to log into motoblur at the very beginning.
I'm going with a hardware issue and taking it in for replacement tomorrow.
Thanks.
It seems like you'll have to replace it, brother. No fix found yet.
Damn! I knew I should have returned it during my 30days... I was really under the impression that it was just something I did coz I didn't notice it when I first got it and went ahead and rooted it... tried almost everything too like everybody did but no luck
Do you think I'll still be able to exchange it? I got it like 2 months ago
Replaced mine yesterday and it is running great. The guy at AT&t said he has seen a few doing this.
Did you have to call the warranty service also or were you able to exhange it at the store coz in my case I had to call the warranty service and they're sending me a replacement in the mail with the prepaid packaging to send to my old one back
I just went in, he opened a new one swaped my sim card and I was off. Gave me a new receipt and done.

Hello. i've been having this problem in my atrix for about a month now. it seems to be hardware related but im outside USA. i could send it in with my gf to get it exchanged but i bought it on ebay.
should i contact motorolla for warranty or go to att to get it replaced?
(please provide a # or website for motorolla warranty if you know it)
I have same problem, hapened after 2 months of use, the top portion of the screen doesnt work, if im in portrait i cant scroll down the notification bar, only in landscape. And when in landscape i cant type the letter Q.
Really annoying, but i have to wait until september when i came back to USA.
Motorola Brazil dont honor the warranty from a Usa Atrix.
For everyone thats experiencing this Screen Issue with the Atrix, SGS Touchscreen Booster inthe Market Place will fix the issue. I have returned one Atrix already, and was close to throwing this one in the garbage. It makes me mad that Motorola has this issue and are not pushing a Software Fix. Can't wait until I can get Cyanogen on this beast!
**Update Sent my phone in to get repaired, they replaced the screen and reflashed it. Came back with the exact same issue. Very Frustrated!
My motorola atrix is a problem with the touch after I managed to release "root", you have to play lower down the keys to be hit from above, in addition to the menu buttons do not work, but half of it straight up works best, does anyone have any solution?
Perhaps a better bios reset, or a full format! hardware will be? or software?
Somebody help!

[Q] ARIA random reboot??

first i wanna thank you guys for this awesome forum
i have an AT&T aria phone that randomly reboots
LIBERTY PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-1.02.0000
MICROP-831b
TOUCH panel-stn21_03
radio-7.16.35.11
Nov 4 2010
the phone is rooted with CWM v2.5.0.1 istalled.
i flashed the original ATT rom 2.2 from HTC website and it didnt fix it
i flashed shipped att rom and it didnt fix.. also flashed rooted rom yet no luck
1-i tried to unlock the bootloader with HTCDEV.COM but it gives me error message
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
...INFO[err] command error
2-i tried to use the revolutianary website and no luck either
3-i tried to put the original img on the sd card LIBEIMG.zip and booted into bootloader but the phone didnt recognize the file at all.
i am a newbie in the android word but i can swear i did every thing by the book in these last 3 steps** at least as i could understand**
p.s: i dont know wut or who did this to this phone
This is sort of a long shot, but did you happen to install a 32GB SD card around the time the problem started happening?
If not, did you change ANYTHING else? new SIM card? new charger? etc.
nope i did not install 32 GB card..
i dont know exactly what happened to this phone.. i took it AS IS..
when i first got the phone it had the original at&t 2.2 stock S-off ... i was lucky to flash CWM using fastboot..
i think if i can install HBOOT again and turn S on this might solve the problem... or may be i need to do something to the partitions but as i told u im a newbie in here
i am sure it is a software problem due to the error message i get when i try to unlock the bootloader...
I tried everything: stock AT&T Froyo rom, returned to S-on, new sd card, new sim card. Also returned to HTC for "repair," but it still rebooted so I returned to HTC for another try.
BTW, I used the Unrevoked method to root/S-off the phone, and the S-on method listed in the development forum to take the phone back to stock. Both with no problem (several times). The S-on was a little trickie, had to load stock AT&T rom, then follow the S-on instructions, which includes loading the stock AT&T Froyo rom again.
I'll report the results of my 2nd HTC repair on the 2 Arias reboot problem thread.

Don't try to do that. HBOOT 1.03 will not fix your problem, it'll only make it worse (not being able to easily S-OFF). You should avoid HTC's official bootloader unlocking method -- it's worse than Revolutionary.
thank u drumist...
i tried already but no luck.. it says device ID error..
i am so desperate in here.. is there anyway i can fix this aria??
To my surprise I had called HTC and found out that my phone was still under warranty. As I said above, the phone is now back at HTC for a 2nd try. I will let you know what they found as soon as I get the phone back -- it took about a week last time.
Drumist was very supportive in my effort to find the problem, and against his advice and out of desperation, I did restore the HBOOT, and, as he said above, it did not solve the problem. The phone was back to being completely stock -- ATT Froyo 2.2 and S-ON -- and it sill had random reboots --taking anywhere from 1 minute to almost an hour before rebooting. Which is really annoying when trying to troubleshoot. I even re-rooted and S-Off'd the phone using Revolutionary, and still had the problem. I then returned the phone to stock again prior to sending it to HTC for repair. Checked one more time... still random rebooting. As I am now using another phone -- Atrix 4G -- solving this has become more of a challenge.
The other thing that's amazing is that I have 2 ATT Arias with exactly the same problem!
I wonder if it is a location thing. You don't happen to reside in SE Pennsylvania do you?
the same thing has been happening to me. it just started happening recently.
about 10-20 times a day the phone just buzzes and goes straight to the white HTC turning on background.
it's very annoying.

I have to agree with you, it is really annoying. Luckily I dont use my phone very often. I dont think it is location based, as I'm in eastern Iowa.
Ok. Just got my Aria back from HTC after their 2nd attempt at at fixing the random reboot problem. It rebooted within 5 minutes of turning it on! And twice after that.
The only thing I did was put in the battery. No SD or SIM card, and I did not plug in a battery charger. I didn't even have a chance to connect to my wifi.
I will call HTC tomorrow and anticipate sending it back to HTC for a 3rd try.
I really thought they would send me a new phone after the 2nd attempt at fixing it. Although now I'm really curious about what could be causing this.
It's interesting that that there are more reports about this problem. I had rooted and installed multiple roms before restoring it to stock AT&T Froyo prior to returning it to HTC for repair. Has anyone had this random reboot problem on a phone that was never rooted?
Oh well. I will probably be sending it back to HTC tomorrow, and will keep you posted about the results.

I am having the same issues...luckily I now have the HTC One X, however I do still use the Aria as a dedicated GPS, which is frustrating having CONSTANT reboots.
This also only happened recently...I wonder what the issue could be...
Reboot saga
Just spoke to HTC about their failed 2nd attempt to repair my phone. They told me the repair records state that they replaced the "main board," which I assume is like the mother board.
If that is true, I would assume that would be like getting a new phone. If that doesn't fix it, I am truly baffled. The ONLY thing I did was put the old fully charged battery in the phone to test it -- without a SIM or SD card . Could the problem be related to the battery? Since I have another Aria (with its own battery) with the same problem, I doubt it.
Regardless, HTC is having me send it back for a 3rd try to fix it, and they sent me a prepaid shipping label this time.
They said if the 3rd repair attempt doesn't fix it, they would send it to a higher level repair facility for a 4th try! I can't complain about HTC's commitment to trying to repair my phone.
From the responses on this thread, this has become a recent problem. Mine started about a month ago. Any theories out there?
Thanks for sharing your experiences yar, however I'll be dealing with the reboots cause I cant go that long without my phone.
Another thought I had while driving yesterday, Do your guy's that reboots, happen usually after you press the lock button? I've noticed after I send a text message and I hit the lock button is mostly when it will restart. Anyone think it would be that button causing the problem or maybe the HTC Sense Lockscreen?
While I'm waiting for HTC to return my phone after their 3rd attempt to fix this problem I have been experimenting with my other Aria.
I booted into CWM and left it there for over an hour and the phone did not reboot. Does this helps isolate the problem?
Also, has anyone managed to stop a random reboot problem?

Just got my Aria back from HTC after their 3rd attempt, and it rebooted within 10 minutes. I even used a new battery, thinking that somehow that was causing the problem. No sim or sd card, and I did not even log onto wifi. They claim they replaced the "main board." Its hard to believe they actually tested it.
Probably beating a dead horse, but I will take HTC up on their offer to send it to the next level of service for a 4th try at fixing the problem. Can't believe it wouldn't be more cost effective to just send me a new phone at this point... but then there might not be any new Arias available.

try setting the Aria data comm to Edge only
I've been following this thread with interest since I have an Aria with AT&T "service" and have been experiencing the random reset problems described here. I have not rooted the phone and have the stock 2.2.2 release side loaded through HTC Sync. After several attempts to isolate the problem, I think I may have stumbled across something that works (so far, no reboots in the last 11 hours, but, that is not conclusive evidence yet). Try using the "hidden test feature" by entering *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer keypad. Then under the "Phone information" section select "GSM only". I understand that this forces the phone to use only the Edge data format.
I think there may be a problem with the Aria's firmware that communicates with the 3G network. I was able to use 3G successfully in the past year, but, something must have changed recently in the way AT&T configured this network or at least I suspect that a recent network change has caused these problems with our phones. You would think that AT&T and HTC would be aware of such a problem by now since I imagine many of us are affected. I'm leaving my phone on Edge until I see evidence that the problem has been resolved.

I will have to give this a try, as for HTC and ATT knowing, they probably don't care and I dont really blame them this is a 2 year old phone.

[Q] ICS OTA fail - borked LTE - What to do?

I will make this short as possible. My friend has a VZW RAZR, all stock the way it comes from the store, no root, no mods. The past couple weeks he has told me his LTE hasn't been working. He was unable to get the ICS OTA to install, he tried several times. I went to help him Saturday and have been doing some reading and such. It always fails on the install about a third of the way through the progress bar. I learned that holding both volume buttons brings up the text saying what the install process is doing and eventually the error. Sure enough, every time it gets to the LTE part it errors and fails, apparently his LTE just decided to kill itself a few weeks ago. Even a factory reset didn't solve anything. Anyways I plan to go help him later this evening and I was hoping to get some directing how I can manually install the update or what it is I need to do to fix the LTE error and complete the OTA. Any help is much appreciated!!
EDIT: Whoops, forgot to mention I know about this thread and this is what I plan to try if nothing else. I just couldn't find anything in the forums about LTE crapping out for no reason. Anybody think this is the method I should try or have a different suggestion?

Bricked HTC One M7 Deleted OS

Forgive me for posting something that by most accounts on the forum would be considered redundant, but I have looked around over the past several weeks on XDA and have failed to solve my problem. I foolishly deleted my entire OS and here is just how far I have come since trying to bring the device back to stock:
The RUU’s I have seen posted haven’t worked for me. I’ve gone through the process several times with different RUU’s and I always get stuck with Error 155. Yesterday however, I thought I hit pay dirt when I did “adb push Sprint_One_Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_4.06.651.4.zip. /sdcard/”. Once the push completed, I ran it in TWRP and it reported successful. When I reboot the device, I get as far as the home screen (where you swipe up to unlock) and then it just reboots. After swiping/rebooting several times, it eventually comes to the first screen you would expect to see when performing a factory reset where you choose a language. From there, I can get to the screen to input the password to my wifi connection but the device either reboots or reports “com.htc.htcdialer is not responding”
I feel as if I am close, so perhaps there is a step I am leaving out. I should also note that I am no longer on Sprint, but the device was bought from them and I’d like to properly restock the phone for trade or resale.
Any advice you guys can offer is awesome:fingers-crossed:

Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

Hi folks, new here. This is in regards to my mothers phone, an LG Fuel L34C. Phone is not rooted or anything and has worked fine for some time. A couple of weeks ago the above error started. It constantly pops up making trying to clear caches, etc very hard. I have googled nonstop for a couple of days now and have yet to figure it out. She will be getting a new phone in about a month but until then will be without because I haven't been able to get this one working. I have backed up and reset via settings with no change. I have set it up without adding google account or anything and it still does it. I found directions for a hard reset but I can not get into it for some reason. Hoping you guys can help me out so she can get here phone working again.
I have never rooted anything nor done any thing in terms of getting inside a phone and changing things, but I follow directions pretty good. lol
