Noob question, updating to fxp 54 from fxp 52 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Well do i need to completly wipe my data etc? Or can i just install the rom over the fxp 52 version? it looks like my phone behaves somewhat slow and drains battery very fast.

Don't need to wipe data to update.

Try this kernel for cm7 if you have NEO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21175200&postcount=54
Battery drain fixed for me with it.

Try Battery Calibration
Fixed battery drain for me

how to get the UV mod for Wolf's rom to improve battery

Hi,
Can anyone tell how to get the UV mod for wolf's rom so as to improve the battery ?
I actually want to move back to the original rom but I want to give UV a try and then I will see if it works fine or not.
Will it be possible to remove the UV mod afterwards?
Here is what I did, I was on WB 4.0.3 with the custom kernel, I flashed the Back to Stock kernel fix:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zisvece37mbicec
and then the Undervolt patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/?amq979la9fvie7b
Seems to be working really well, great battery life!
Hope this helps, Just make sure you bakup first!
Hi,
the latest WB rom with custom kernel already has UV included.
Ralf
It may have been included, but the battery life sucked! I find it is much better with Stock kernel and the Undervolt patch

I am on wolf 4.0.3 and the battery life is terrible... only lasts 5-6 hours for me if in use..
I am now thinking to repair the phone and go to the original software ... anyone know where to get the xloud and bravia addon for stock 2.3.3 ??
Did you go back to the Stock kernel and apply the undervolt patch? It is worth trying!

let it drain till it turns itself off
charge to 100%, preferably with the wall-charger
boot into recovery and wipe batterystats from the advanced menu
something like that
Or you can use Battery Calibrate apk, that is on market.
It is better to use wiping battery stats for 3 - 5 times of full charges/discharges.

why not go with custom roms since you (will) have custom kernel? i think there is no kernel with made for stock that you can use oc. ive seen apk who can do governor but not oc.

Hello.
I flashed a few days ago the latest update on my girlfriends sola via PC Companion and now she comlains about extreme battery drain :/
She charged the phone yesterday before going too sleep to 100% and today morning there were only 18% battery.
Everything is on stock - no CWM, Custom Kernel whatever..
Do you guys know a fix for this? Thanks!

What apps is running in the background? Sounds like something is sucking up the data via wifi/3G.
Or Bluetooth/GPS....
Etc etc.
Try changing to extended battery mod kernels or change governer to powersave
Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk 2
The best you can do if you dont find what drains the battery is Hard Reset the phone, it will help for sure.
thanks guys at first.
installed better battery stats & Cpu Spy and will take a look on it when i see her again to see whats eating battery. she sent me a screenshot with "androis OS" has 80% battery usage with ~12hours CPU time.
what do you mean with hard reset - just make factory reset in android itself?
or in recovery with wipe system / cache / dalvik?

i think is battery stats problem. try reset/wipe ur battery stats after update to ICS. u may use battery calibration in playstore to done so too. then u will see a significant improvement in battery life.

Here are sine tips for stock sola battery drain issue..
1) keep brightness to the lowest possible value
2)Switch off glove mode it eats battery like crazy
3)switch off bravia engine it too eats battery
4)switch off all network connections like wifi Bluetooth and run on 2g when sleeping....
Hope it helps

[SOLVED]Battery always at 100% after flashing and removing nAa kernel.

Battery always at 100% after flashing and removing nAa kernel.
Device:Sony Ericsson LwW
Issue:
Recently flashed nAa's kernel 3.4.45,ROM CM10.2 JB 4.3 alpha 20130809.
After a while decided to revert to my previous config
Kappa 1.6 Kernel and optimax v2.0 rom using a CWM backup
After doing so,my battery percentage is stuck at 100% always, restarted it several times..like 6h and still 100%...
The battery voltage is fine though,4070mV-4091mV is fully charged but the meter shows 100% even at 3600mV.
Even when the phone is completely dead(red led blinkin),i connect the charger and the led immediately turns green.
Basically the meter is stuck at 100%,but the battery actually charges as i can see the battery voltage goin up..
What i have tried till now:
1.Discharging it completely and charging it again
but the phone shows 100% immediately on connecting the charger..:crying:
using battery stats wipe from CWM,using apps from market - NO USE
2.Flashing extended stock kernel,no use
3.Installing optimax v2.0 instead of using the CWM image,no use
4.Installing Stock ROM (build 4.1.B.0.587),solves the problem which means its not a hardware issue.
but i dont want stock rom...
whats wrong with optimax ROM which was workin perfectly before i flashed nAa kernel?
5.Flashing the nAa kernel again along with the JB rom i tested solves the issue, but the ROM is not suitable for my personal use.
can somebody please solve this issue...?
I will attach a logcat if necessary...please help me with this...
Okh try few more things..

and every other kernel works fine and reports the battery percentage..
What could be the reason?
@nobodyAtall Can you please help me out?
its kernel bug. like in test kernel of kappa just re flash
Finally Solved
Sorry for the title,NOTHING TO DO WITH nAa KERNEL
Ok guys i finally managed to figured out the solution after weeks of struggling...
Its quite simple..
1.Flash a different kernel(i flashed extended stock),charge your battery to 100%
2.Flash kappa kernel before your battery drains below 90%
3.Tada!!! the battery bug is no more!!!
I even managed to figure out why this actually happens..the battery meter value is estimated by a chip bq27520 manufactured by TI semiconductors...The datasheet of the bq27520 describes the charging algorithm which estimates (and calibrates itself ) the battery meter percentage at 4.2V and 3.0 V,Since 3.0 V is not possible..4.2 V is good...
I guess kappa kernel doesnt support the charging algorithm of bq27520 and hence it is unable to re-calibrate itself and gets stuck in last state..,whereas stock kernel supports the chip and thus solves the problem...
If first time it doesnt work..try using your phone with the stock kernel for one discharge and charge cycle and then flash kappa kernel..
BUT FLASH kappa kernel ONLY WHEN BATTERY IS ABOVE 90%
hope this helps anybody else having the same problem...
anyways thanks for your efforts guys,Finally peace!!

this thread helped me to solve my batter stuck at 100% by doing the steps below:
1. flashed stock ics ftf file
2. turned on phone and still got the battery stuck at 100%
3. turned off phone
4. flashed the lupus kernel with stock ics rom
5. turned on phone and the battery stuck at 100% issue was solved
6. flashed kappa kernel which is my preferred kernel
7. installed my preferred ics rom

This 100% battery bug is present on stock kernel itself. But it manifest only when you switch from cm 10 or 11 to ics. Only known kernel not to have this bug is Mesa 4.8 kernel. For some stock rom flashing eliminates the problem but reappears suddenly. My request is to first flash stock rom, then flash mesa kernel, then install desired ics based any rom e.g fluroscent feather rom & then after few days kernel of your choice eg doppler kernel, kernel panic etc.
This always solves my problem in XMP sk17i.
Since the kernel for ics are based on stock sources (except mesa), all tend to have the same problem. Mesa kernel fixed that problem long aaaaaago. See the changelog:fingers-crossed:

If you are not specific with rom try some kitkat rom with the kernel given it zip. I'm using carbon rom, work good for my usage. I get more than a day of battery.
Tried lupus , tried Carbon rom , all eat 50+ battery per hour in this progam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain
when i`m playing and i have 3G on
I even changed basebands , i`m on 77 now , been on 64 .. i see the results tomorrow , after this night..I barely get 30 mins ontime screen ... i have checked with better battery stats , when phone is in deep sleep still consume 5% per H
At how i use my phone i need to charge it once every 5-6H... that's so sad.

Try that...your problem may get solved because i also faced the same problem while i was on Gingerbread many a times.
Change your kernal after once you flash any of the stock rom with its kernal.
Your problem may get solved as mine got solved when i encountered the same problem as yours.

Also if u want to use a Gingerbread rom then Codename Is a good rom which u may try out if u like to

Might solve any issues if your phone is having one.
