Hello.
I flashed a few days ago the latest update on my girlfriends sola via PC Companion and now she comlains about extreme battery drain :/
She charged the phone yesterday before going too sleep to 100% and today morning there were only 18% battery.
Everything is on stock - no CWM, Custom Kernel whatever..
Do you guys know a fix for this? Thanks!

What apps is running in the background? Sounds like something is sucking up the data via wifi/3G.
Or Bluetooth/GPS....
Etc etc.
Try changing to extended battery mod kernels or change governer to powersave

The best you can do if you dont find what drains the battery is Hard Reset the phone, it will help for sure.
thanks guys at first.
installed better battery stats & Cpu Spy and will take a look on it when i see her again to see whats eating battery. she sent me a screenshot with "androis OS" has 80% battery usage with ~12hours CPU time.
what do you mean with hard reset - just make factory reset in android itself?
or in recovery with wipe system / cache / dalvik?

Wait wait - she is on stock but has CWM? Why does she need it?
Anyway, i had the same problem yesterday with another ROM - 89 % android system, only hard reset via phone menu did the job.
Ah sorry I thought that there is a stock recovery too like an Sammy devices.
Yeah she is on stock without cwm or something.

See in sola development section and if you have cm9 than flash provided boot.img also try juice defender

i think is battery stats problem. try reset/wipe ur battery stats after update to ICS. u may use battery calibration in playstore to done so too. then u will see a significant improvement in battery life.

Here are sine tips for stock sola battery drain issue..
1) keep brightness to the lowest possible value
2)Switch off glove mode it eats battery like crazy
3)switch off bravia engine it too eats battery
4)switch off all network connections like wifi Bluetooth and run on 2g when sleeping....
Hope it helps
Cheers!!

Hi,
Can anyone tell how to get the UV mod for wolf's rom so as to improve the battery ?
I actually want to move back to the original rom but I want to give UV a try and then I will see if it works fine or not.
Will it be possible to remove the UV mod afterwards?
Here is what I did, I was on WB 4.0.3 with the custom kernel, I flashed the Back to Stock kernel fix:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zisvece37mbicec
and then the Undervolt patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/?amq979la9fvie7b
Seems to be working really well, great battery life!
Hope this helps, Just make sure you bakup first!
Hi,
the latest WB rom with custom kernel already has UV included.
Ralf
It may have been included, but the battery life sucked! I find it is much better with Stock kernel and the Undervolt patch

I am on wolf 4.0.3 and the battery life is terrible... only lasts 5-6 hours for me if in use..
I am now thinking to repair the phone and go to the original software ... anyone know where to get the xloud and bravia addon for stock 2.3.3 ??
Did you go back to the Stock kernel and apply the undervolt patch? It is worth trying!

Battery Drain comes from few factors.
1)You probably use alotsa apps in your X10S
2)Many Apps/Background Services active in Application>Running Services
3)Battery problem
4)Type CPU Governer used
5)X10S is 2.3.4 version, need compatible kernel like KCernel for 2.3.4, some DooMKernel is for 2.3.3GB Stock ROMs
Solution options:
1)try go recovery and click "Wipe battery status (find it somewhere)" then reboot your phone
2) Or reboot your phone and check is there problem remains?
3)About Kernel for X10S, DooMLord or Champ's KCernel shd work ok,
perhaps you change your phone's governor via SetCPU or ROMtoolbox, cos different governors, different battery usage.

Wifi Modules: I try my best to find for ya

To Check Battery Health (I tried in 2.3.7 DonutHD, 4.0AOKP, but didn't try in X10S in past)Anyway, try whether is this works and tellme your result
1.Click Phone
2.Dial *#*#4636#*#* and it should direct you to testing. These options should show i guess:
-Phone information
-Battery information
-Usage Statistics
-Wifi Information
3.(Go To Battery information>Battery Health if can) If show ''Good" means ok, works fine.
4. OR you can find Battery Apps to check your battery status.
Wifi modules here find the compatible with KCernel you choose, i got from champ senior ]Hope Helps Cheers

What Kernel,Rom u using?
what r u ur OC settings?
and btw hav u tried different kernels and RoMs?
Important-
Be really carefull when overclocking(as mentioned in many places)
cause ur battery will have more strain.
and because of that u will lose a lot of Ions/cells(science thing )
and that will decrease ur battery life very badly.

install wakelock detector to see which app is causing wakelocks and draining battery
change the governor to smartassh3 if your kernel supports it

ur clock speeds are fine,
i suggest u try ROMs like Ultimate HD,Revolution ICS ,etc
if uve unlocked bootloader . u can try even more Roms and kernels.
and again, if uve unlocked - try suave kernel , fusion kernel, etc
and ya u should try wakelock
or
just simply see battery usage in settings(if u dint see)
and keep an eye on the governor u select
Please Click 'Thanks' if i helped
You should try following:
1. Changing CPU governor (e.g. switch to ondemand from performance, or to powersave, sometimes those default governors can be buggy, so try alternative like smartass)
2. Remove widgets from homescreen that you don't use, especially weather widget.
3. Turn off sync when you don't need it.
4. Change your brightness. If it is on max set it to half or automatic, you can turn it completely off, but then screen is unusable on daylight (my experience)
5. Turn off wifi or data when you don't use it.
You can also do some tweaking in easier way using Pimp My ROM from Play Store. If that still doesn't help, try different kernel.

Hey guys..
I bought a galaxy tab 2 two weks ago from a friend who also used it for just 2 weeks !
It worked fine but recently I face a problem with the battery !
The battery drains to 40% after playing fifa 14 for just 1 hours with 30% brightness !
I searched for a solution in this forum and I read a threat about battery calibration which said that I shall charge it to 100% shutdown for an hour , restart it and use it until you get 40% battery and shut it down for 5 hours etc...
Anyway I tried the calibration method but it doesn't help and probably the situation get worst because this morning I used it until battery drained to 80% then I resart it and I found that battery drained to 34% !
I find many calibration app in googleplay but I'm not sure if it will help me in my situation or not !
So would anyone please help me solve this problem ?
thanks previously ( sorry for my bad english )

Well, calibration apps and doing it manually [ie .messing with the .bin] won't work due to it not being rooted. But on that note, I don't think you would have any reason to calibrate it. To my knowledge only flashing ROMs and things of the sort can cause it to be out of calibration. [not 100% sure though] Normaly You would have to charge to 100%, then let it die, without any charging. Go from 100% to 0% then 0 back to 100% in one charge.
Hope ya get it right. If anything ask him if he still has the receipt if he got it new. Could possibly use the warranty.

Well, try a calibration app 1st. If that doesn't work I don't how to "fix" it. You could do things to reduce battery drain though. Lowering the CPU max frequency, a powersave governor, undervolting the CPU, keep brightness to a minimum are good ways.

It helps to a degree, but I'm thinking your problem is the battery itself. Was it treated badly? Like leaving plugged in for long periods of time or left in really hot cars.
Also turn off location and Bluetooth

I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard that it's a very good ROM. So I'd say, go for it!

Thanks for being always here to here . As I told you I'm an amateur and I don't know how to install it . I'm also afraid from Ram usage of this rom ! My brother have a samsung galaxy s4 with 4.3 android and its ram usage is 700mb while it is stable and in galaxy tab 2 I only have 769mb ! So would I have such a ram usage if I Install this rom ?

First thing you should know, you don't havta say thank you all the time, just click the Thanks button, that's what it's for.
And I actually installed PAC ROM today. It's an awesome ROM with a lot of cool features...
As for RAM usage, I dont think that should be a problem. The ROM should be optimised for your device, so it won't use 700mb at rest.
Give it a try, if you find it's slow or laggy, I can suggest more ROMs. :good:
(<---Remember to Thank me if I helped)
I would use CM10.1.3 for battery life, as I used to get 1% lose overnight. (I use SlimKat now which may be not as good in the battery department, but for me the latest OS is essential, but that's just me.)

"Borther. I would like to quote one thing first of all; all kitkat based ROMs are battery suckers. So you will not get good battery backup as you might have seen in 4.1.2 or 4.2.2. Xposed framework consumes lot of RAM,i prefer not to use it. PAC ROM is just like another KITKAT ROMs that provides loads of features but with an inefficient battery backup. You will see huge battery drain yourself. I did tried all Kitkat based ROMs. Even all kitkat based ROMs have shuttering/noise sounds while playing some games like Real-Racing 3 etc. I suggest to go with Stock ROM 4.2.2 based on your region or cm 10.2 based ROMs(if available). Root it(if stock) and remove all the samsung bloatwares from it. Then you will not get any kind of battery drain or Lag while playing high-end games. But ultimately choice is all yours."
Thats why am still confused ! So what is the usage of ram at rest ?! You install pac rom kitkat or lower version ? What about battery , did it drain too fast ?!
And how did you install it please !? Am running sg tab 2 p3110 with SuperSU root and the latest version of philz as a custom recovery

I have a p3110 with latest philz recovery and dual booting pac 4.4.2 and Stock 4.2.2 with Next blackhawk kernel
OCed at 1.2GHz and both data and cache formated to F2FS and
1) I have no Lag on both the roms(primary and secondary)
2)1% loss of battery from night to day(9:30 pm to 5:26 am)
3)Play modern combat with no glitch
so i suggest you to do that!!

I installed PAC(KitKat, latest nightly) on my GT-N7000(Galaxy Note) which has 778mb available RAM, and I get around 380mb used after clearing recents, and 355-ish after the phone has been at rest for some time. Mind you I haven't got too many apps installed which have background services, though. But I'd still say it's good RAM management.
But as for what you should do, I think you should take @iamashwin's advice...He knows what he's talking about. @lokesh.3440 suggested the stock option too, so you really should try it. :good:
Thank you all for support ing me ( pressing thank bottom is done ) but I decided to install cm 10.1.3 since it is recommended in many threads for battery life . Would anyone please explain to me what is a tabletUi patch ?

I'm not sure...I would think it's a patch to give you tablet UI (I know, I know...I'm a genius), but since you own a tablet itself...
I think it's some kinda fix for ROMs for tablet ported from phone ROMs...
