I am a bit afraid to install chainfire 3d and plugins so i need your advice.
What version? Is it working or maybe bricking the device?

here in the morning my phone pop-ups that a new software version is availble. if i upgrade, will that make it harder to root later or?

If you want root just root , it will give you newest fw anyway

What version do you have now? Unless it's newer than R2BA023, just use this guide... Newbies Guide to Rooting X10 and giving you the newest firmware!
Latest version is R2BA024 relased last week in HongKong.
Looking for R2BA024 ROOT
What are the changes in the R2ba024 update.?

Updated x10 and lost root. Z4 ROOT NO LONGER WORKS. HELP PLEASE. I think the firmware is the problem. Not sure. New to this.....

Use Flashtool
Has anyone managed to downgrade & root their desire HD? I have the ota 2.3.3 gingerbread update & am finding it really difficult to downgrade it so I can root it. I have tried some of the ways suggestted via the forums but have had no luck. Has anyone else managed to root their desire HD running the ota gingerbread 2.3.3 update?

As far as I understand, to root a Gingerbread version, you gotta use Gingerbreak.

Ginger break did not work for me incase that didn't work try this read properly and its not really to hard.

I just got this phone from my sister, but last year I rooted it. I think it was the superoneclick thing? Any way Its still on att rom and firmware version is 2.1update1. build number 2.1.A.0.492. and I want to know if I can put a custom rom n it and if so how? Thanks in advance

how u did it , any help will be appreciated
I used flash tool, upgraded the phone to 2.3, rooted it, installed 0.3 recovery, unlocked the bootloader, and finally I installed miui 2.3.7. All of it was done with flashtool

It is quite easy once you have done it a couple of times. I used to flash my x10 on a daily basis. Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day because I was bored or several ROM updates came at once lol

I recieved a HTC jewel yesterday already s-off so I flashed tarp recovery latest version and it installed Su for me now the problem is every Rom that I've tried flashing the touchscreen feature doesn't work and I just can't figure out what's going wrong I'm rooted and s-off'd someone help
