Hi, where can I find apk files on my S2?
PS:- previously posted wrongly under S I9000
Need root, use a file explorer such a root explorer or such with superuser permission. Navigate to;

Hey guys, i need some help with removing installed VRtweaks, if anyone could just point me in the right direction i would be grateful..
This is my first post in this forum, and my first screwup with the SGSII..
Look in /sdcard/VRTweaks/backup
As long as you didnt apply the tweak twice the original file will be there, just use a program such as root explorer or ES File Explorer to overwrite them.
Pleases note that you will need to mount /system as read/write via the app and that you may get tons of FC's after you replace the file and before you reboot.
If the backup file from that folder doesnt work, open up the VR zip and grab the files you need out of there and overwrite as above.
Good luck.
Thanks man. I'll give it a try.

Hi all,
I want to replace the new market 3.3.11 with old one. I do the following steps;
1.rename the downloaded market as Vending.apk
2.copy it by using rrot explorer
3.paste it to sys/app file
but it says "you cannot paste here because the file system is read-only". so what must i do?
by the way for the ones who need new market 3.3.11, you can check the attachment
Click on mount r/w
Then copy

You need to Root your phone. You can then change the permissions, via Root Explorer, to make that directory R/W.

Help please. I've been searching for days for the default font folder of the Galaxy S III at the internal sd card. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it. Is it really hidden by any chance? Same with the default folder for the S III Wallpapers ?
My phone is not rooted, everything is stock. I've heard of font changer but it requires root. Searching for a nonroot solution if it is possible.
Thank you for your patience and tolerance.
Fonts are in /system/fonts but you will not be able to acces to this folder without root
For wallpaper, there is no folder: there are in one of the apk from samsung which should be in /system/app but no access to this folder without root

Or you can use ES Explorer w/ root access, then go to /system/app/. Select 'secwallpaperchooser.apk' and extract all the files wherever you like using ESExplorer menu on the right (let's say SD card). You will find all the .jpg in Storage/ExtSdCard/res/drawable-xddpi folder.
Hope it'll help

I tried to copy and paste an apk into the system/app folder, but then Root Explorer told me "Not enough free space", so how do I fix this???
Backup and uninstall (with Titanium Backup) any unnecessary apk's.

Yeah you can uninstall any system apps like default launcher(of you are comfortable using other) to free up space...uninstall root apps only with root uninstaller

You could try switching from the regular gapps file (appx 50mb), to the small (apx 25).
I have rooted my android phone (an MTK6577 with Android 4.1.1)
I downloaded ES File Explorer and in the settings turned on rot explorer.
I have a file on the SD card which I need to copy to the 'system/etc' directory - BUT - when I try to 'paste' it I get the error 'Permission denied'.
What else do I need to do that I am missing to allow the paste operation.
Any advice/comments appreciated.
Thanks
Change to read/write from read only
Also, I highly recommend root explorer found on Google play, by far the best root file explorer for android (having tried many)

Thank you.
Used Root Explorer (which I also found better) and all is sorted.
