Both launchers are great IMO, but I've usually leaned toward LauncherPro. I haven't installed either on my MT4G, and am curious to know what other MT4G owners prefer to run on their phone (after rooting, of course).

adw launcher all the way.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/fluxed-adw-theme/com.asimonds.fluxed
with that adw.theme.
[i bought adw.notifier too]
then put on something with a black wallpaper=ooommmggg
speed+eye candy
I just tried both and ADW is slow as a dog on my phone. LauncherPro flies faster than I remember it running on my old MT3G, but sadly I can't install/use any of the HTCSense widgets (most importantly the weather/clock one).
Keep HTCSense or LauncherPro? Hmmm.
I have been using LauncherPro Plus for over a week now. Decided to try ADW today. Although there are definitely some more customization options on ADW theme wise, LPP seems to run faster and more consistent. I will be sticking to LPP.
Also, the old version of fancy widget or the paid beautiful widget app can replace the sense ui weather/clock.

LPP all the way, by far the best. Get beautiful widgets if you want the sense style clock and the LPP widgets are just as good as the sense widgets.

same here... I love Launcher Pro and have been using Beautiful Widgets since they came back after the C&D from HTC, between the speed of Launcher Pro (not to mention the 2 extra launcher bars) and the customization of Beautiful Widgets you can't go wrong.
LPP! i love how fast it is and the widgets are amazing! the ability to also resize a widget on the fly is wondering
I tend to use Launcher Pro Plus more than ADW but both are excellent.
Used to go back and forth between these 2 before lpp. the widgets just put it a step ahead, 4 me. both are good though
Launcher Pro with translucent widgets is the best!
what do you all mean by "fast"?
like the scrolling speeds?

I love LP but im using ADW now and i havent seen any slowdowns at all and i like the themes, maybe since its newer to me im digging it more now, i been using launcher pro since it first came out
yea both are great launchers and i have been using LPP since it came out too but lately ive been using ADW since it has many different themes and with the TeamSilence Iced Galcier Rom V1.0 and the Gr8Gorilla 1.7 Ghz OC, ADW doesnt lag at all... so it gives me speed and extreme customization too IMO... my suggestion is download both then see which one suits your needs...
+1 for LPP. I love the calendar widget and the dock with the glass background.
First time trying to use launcher pro, downloaded it from Market and can not find it any where. Went into my app drawer and t isn't there, checked settings ect. and isn't there either. What the heck am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
Didn't think I was that much of a knuckle head but obviously I am.

Click your home button. You should have an option to launch HTC Sense or Launcher Pro.
Click Launcher Pro and now you're using that as your home launcher. If you click on the Menu button from home, you'll now see a Preferences selection. That's how you can customize Launcher Pro.
If you decide you like it, when you click the home button, make sure you check the box to make it your default launcher.
Hi Guys,
Quick question out of Adw launcher and LauncherPro or Go Launcher Which is the best to use??
I want Photo Widgets But it seems theses Home replaceMents Dont have them
Launcher pro and ADW use to have Photo widgets but not anymore
do you guys have any ideas or should i just stick to Sense

I use adw now....been for about 7 mo.that now...I used to use LP....been a while tho....but I'm almost positive that LP had the people widgets but adw doesn't.....I guess it all comes down to personal preference....but there's a TON in the market....but I.always though.adw was a bit more stable

Actually, I've been using 'HE Launcher 2' lately (free from the market) and I love it. You can choose from all the popular docks (including a perfect Sense rosie, stock Gingerbread, Samsung, Froyo, espresso, blur, etc.), it has swipe-to-hide notification bar feature that works perfectly, and you can completely customize the size of your homescreens AND widgets.
Plus, Custom transitions, a blazing fast FULL app drawer, supports live wallpaper too..
I added a flip-clock with fancy widgets home, so now my phone LOOKS like it's running the Stock launcher, but it's waaay faster.

I have been using LP for a while now, sense was driving me nuts lol.
The stock android photo frame widget will work with any launcher..
Try out Go Launcher, it's free with alot of different themes and widgets (including a people, messaging, and Facebook widget)
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Go launcher EX works wonders for me , couple it with the pure messenger and calendar and built in FB widget its stunning.
So I know this might seem funny to some people...
But I REALLY love the people widget that Sense has that lists favorites along the left but their last interaction next to them. Like latest facebook status, or call timing, or text message, etc.
Does any replacement launcher offer something similar?
Or is there a standalone app/widget that can do this?
If so, I definitely wouldn't mind parting with Sense...
I know that I'm not the only Launcherpro user out there!
Honestly I originally chose LPP because of the sense like widgets, but with the addition of themes (icon and widget) and transition animations, I really can't use anything else.
Plus I've found LPP to be more responsive than go or Adw, but i know many would argue on this point.
Really its just personal preference- they're all great launchers.

I'm anxious to see which launcher will be the first to be in 3D, similar to the EVO3D commercials, which shows the Sense home screen in 3D.
I have tried all launchers outhere and always go back to launcher pro. If you know how to set it up you'll have the smoother best looking launcher. LP is running at a cap 60fps scrolling with no lag. Transition effect "scale" and even iphone user are shock in how much more smoother my launcher is compare to an iphone 4. The widget are awesome too. Im using facebook, calendar and bookmark with honeycomb theme. Would not go back to any other launcher again. If anyone mention stutter or lag in LP is because they have not set it up right in the setting cause i was getting lag at first too.

I was going to get apex, but then I realized I'd have to redo my entire desktop layout (restoring the /data partition of my Energy ROM did it for me in Sense....lazy lol). Also I kept telling Android to choose Sense by default when I hit the home button, but it kept asking me everytime which launcher I wanted, so I uninstalled apex. Soon as an AOSP ICS Rom is releases, I'm all over apex.

No, if you want OFFICIAL ICS look use trebuchet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410674
The download link isn't working, and I'm pretty sure I can post it without issue.. if you like it hit their thanks button. It is really easy to push into the /system/app folder via adb or with root explorer, es file explorer, etc.
I don't have a quicker/easier way to post it than dropbox http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13692699/Trebuchet.apk
Even though I didn't keep using caprombeta(needs root) I saw the launcher he chose and was very impressed

Finally re-installed Apex, and it was doing the same thing. Every couple of times I hit the home button, it would ask me if I wanted Apex or Sense launcher to load. I fixed this by going into Titanium backup and freezing "[DESKTOP] HTC Sense" if anyone else is having trouble with this.

Tried it, but it didn't work. Freezing Sense worked great though.
I don't think it's just my phone though. I have a friend who has a Samsung Captivate, and I rooted his phone and installed an ICS rom for him about a month ago. I suggested Apex (the rom used Nova), so he downloaded it and has been using it. He recently told me that it keeps forgetting that it's the default launcher, and that he has to tell it again and again. :/
Figured out a way to use blink feed with 3rd party launchers (at least ADW, I assume others can as well)
Using ADW, i created a custom shortcut to an activity. That activity was the Sense 5 launcher. When I click the shortcut it takes me to blink feed.
I deleted all the sense 5 launcher pages except blink feed.
When I hit home it goes back to my ADW home.
Will post screen shots tonight.
Maybe this is common knowledge.....if so sorry.

Sort of. It is really just an icon to switch between sense 5 and the 3rd party launcher. You will remain in the sense 5 launcher until you hit the home button. However, I see no reason to stay in sense 5 except for blinkfeed, so yes, I am using it like an app and deleted all the non blinkfeed homescreens and dock icons. Of course sense 5 doesn't let you delete the app drawer icon so that is still there.
You retain full functionality of the blinkfeed page (clock/weather/and blinkfeed options). You can still tap the weather and get details, tap the clock to get world times, etc.
Along those lines, anyone know how to get the original HTC 4x2 weather flip clock into a launcher OTHER than Sense, such as nova launcher? Not as a downloaded widget from the play store, but the one I could add to the Sense additional home screens.

An app im working on. Plz leave feedback on google play since i dont hang around in these forums.
is there a way to get scrolling wallpaper working on the stock sense rom? i'm using apex, which has a scrolling wallpaper option, and i tried using quickpic(since the sense gallery wallpaper picker only crops for a non-scrollable wallpaper) but nothing will work. i always just get a static background
any workarounds?
without rooting, that is. i'm trying to use the phone stock for a little while before i root to see how i like it
Pretty sure this was removed totally in sense 5....
In fact, I dont even get it to work with Nova Launcher Prime either. I select a 2160px * 1080px as wallpaper with wallpaper scrolling enabled, but all i get is a static 1080px wallpaper and no scroll effect.
There is an option in nova launcher settings to force scrolling wallpaper for Samsung devices like the galaxy. Just make sure that is ticked and it will work.
