using nova launcher myself buddy
Quick question.....
Is there anyway to use the HTC widgets on this launcher?
Can't find a clock or a music widget anywhere on the launcher.
The dock option is badass though.

Been using this launcher since the ics leak and It's been great!

I was going to get apex, but then I realized I'd have to redo my entire desktop layout (restoring the /data partition of my Energy ROM did it for me in Sense....lazy lol). Also I kept telling Android to choose Sense by default when I hit the home button, but it kept asking me everytime which launcher I wanted, so I uninstalled apex. Soon as an AOSP ICS Rom is releases, I'm all over apex.

Yeah I was selecting the "do this as default" option when I hit the home key, but it just refused to remember it for me (when selecting Sense as default launcher). Didn't try to make apex the default.

I really don't like the whole sense layout. Too much junk for me LOL.
I"m using Apex and love it.
i'm loving nova so far. found a music widget too. try phantom music widget
No, if you want OFFICIAL ICS look use trebuchet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410674
The download link isn't working, and I'm pretty sure I can post it without issue.. if you like it hit their thanks button. It is really easy to push into the /system/app folder via adb or with root explorer, es file explorer, etc.
I don't have a quicker/easier way to post it than dropbox http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13692699/Trebuchet.apk
Even though I didn't keep using caprombeta(needs root) I saw the launcher he chose and was very impressed

Finally re-installed Apex, and it was doing the same thing. Every couple of times I hit the home button, it would ask me if I wanted Apex or Sense launcher to load. I fixed this by going into Titanium backup and freezing "[DESKTOP] HTC Sense" if anyone else is having trouble with this.

Tried it, but it didn't work. Freezing Sense worked great though.
I don't think it's just my phone though. I have a friend who has a Samsung Captivate, and I rooted his phone and installed an ICS rom for him about a month ago. I suggested Apex (the rom used Nova), so he downloaded it and has been using it. He recently told me that it keeps forgetting that it's the default launcher, and that he has to tell it again and again. :/

Has anyone tried using ADW EX with ICS? I just got ADW set up to my liking the other day, and I would really like to be able to keep things laid out the way they are now.

I have it running on mine, everything is the same except I was using Wizz widgets facebook app on my home page and it was no longer scrollable. Not an adw issue but that is the only thing I've noticed that's "different".
I use wizz on stock ICS launcher and can still scroll in twitter and Facebook.

ADW EX works fine but puts an ugly blue line across the top of the screen.
I tried going to ADW EX after ICS update, but all Google widgets no longer scroll which is a dealbreaker for me. I sent an email to the developer for a fix.

what option do I hide to get rid of it?
Yeah I have teh same problem. Hopefully will be fixed in an update
You can hide all the top options by:
- long pressing on the screen
-Then click launcher actions
-Find hide status bar ( I think it's what it's called)
-it'll put a shortcut on the screen, click that
Now the top bar should be gone

Started using Nova Launcher with Nils ICS and ran into a small problem.
The Sense Lockscreen that has the 4 shortcuts by default launch Sense and not Nova Launcher, any way to change it? Do I need another lockscreen?
Have you tried removing the Sense APK(Rosie.apk) and see if Nova launches the shortcut properly? I don't use the Sense lockscreen anymore so I can't test.
I just removed the Rosie and it still loads the icon. Even more interesting is that I just deleted the HTC lock screen yet it is still there. Weird

I reset the device after getting rid of rosie and the lock screen and now its the ics lockscreen like it should be

will do, but do we still have to unlock to answer calls?
No idea, I am running Nils latest with Sense, I just remembered seeing that thread.
I'm using NoSense rom, LeeDroid HC 4.3.0 applyed sense stripper.
Well.. when I used Sense, I just tapped a personal setting icon on main launcher and could change apps on lockscreen at this menu. However, now, I can't find this setting menu so...how can I change apps on lockscreen?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
I don't think there is a way to access the personalize menu without the sense launcher. At least, I have looked and can not find any way to access it except the button on the launcher. This might be a bug worth reporting to Lee.
yea I believe you need to do it using the sense launcher then you can use an alternative. I wonder if you can freeze the sense launcher using titanium after you have made the change
Thanks, devator.
I'm using Golauncher HD and, now, there's no lockscreen, suddenly... I don't know what's happened So I think I sholud reinstall the rom and I'll back to Sense anyway.
And, thank you for your advice about titanum, mcord. I'll try it later

Just curious if people prefer stock or a replacement launcher?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Nova.
I used ROM Cleaner to remove the sense launcher.
Ha I was also wondering this. Was just about to ask and saw this thread. I was wanting to make a sleek simple homescreen and someone said I couldn't change icons with stock launcher.
How easy is it to switch back and forth between launchers?
As easy as installing from the play store and running it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
But would it keep all the settings. Like could you set up two different launchers and have them set the way you want. Then just feel like going to a different look one day just because you feel like it lol.
Yes. A launcher is just an app like any other app. Settings get saved.
Nova, have used it since I got my Galaxy S2. Love it easy backup/restore change icons individually, and more!
Just installed Nova Launcher and gotta say its pretty cool. Here's what I created. Just two questions. Can nova launcher make the status bar clear? And I used simple text to change icons on the dock but it has black background behind the words. Can I make that clear somehow.
I use apex launcher and as nova
It's amazing, I had no trouble changing plenty of phones while keeping my layout

ive been a nova user for quite sometime , however ive been using stock on the one.
Guess im the only one who actually likes and uses blinkfeed =]

Action Launcher - allows minimalist approach, very fast to select apps. And Blink Feed app from appstore switches back into sense launcher so I can go back and forth.
Apex
This may be the perfect place to post this:
Does anyone know of a launcher (or can creat one) that is JUST the Sense 5 app drawer?
i.e: unlock your phone, and hit the app drawer button: THAT is ALL I want to see.

I've always liked the stock launchers over Nova, Apex, etc. Although I did enjoy them on CM roms on the One X when I had it. Usually I'm not a fan of stock Android. I've always much preferred the manufacturer skins.
I love sense 5 too much to switch

Man, $15 seems kinda steep for that.
is there a way to get scrolling wallpaper working on the stock sense rom? i'm using apex, which has a scrolling wallpaper option, and i tried using quickpic(since the sense gallery wallpaper picker only crops for a non-scrollable wallpaper) but nothing will work. i always just get a static background
any workarounds?
without rooting, that is. i'm trying to use the phone stock for a little while before i root to see how i like it
Pretty sure this was removed totally in sense 5....
In fact, I dont even get it to work with Nova Launcher Prime either. I select a 2160px * 1080px as wallpaper with wallpaper scrolling enabled, but all i get is a static 1080px wallpaper and no scroll effect.
There is an option in nova launcher settings to force scrolling wallpaper for Samsung devices like the galaxy. Just make sure that is ticked and it will work.

You can download the app landscape wallpaper from the market for free,it will allow you to do so with the stock or aftermarket launchers.

Works for my GS2 on Apex. Make sure you download QuickPic from the playstore. Then long press on your homescreen and select Wallpapers, where it says Choose wallpaper from..select QuickPic. It should work from there.

i installed nova real quick and that worked, but i like apex more. so it has something to do with sense i guess.
Has anyone found a way to scroll in sense curious?
