stock rom updates - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Where can I find the latest updates to AT&T stock rom(s) to sgs 2.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium

It came shipped with it...
I don't believe AT&T has released any updates since day 1.

They released 2.3.6. But if your on 2.3.4 I'd sick with that till ICS. From what I've read 2.3.6 ota breaks more than it fixed. If you want 2.3.6 go for a custom rom based off of it.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk

2.3.6 can be hit or miss. I upgraded and I'm stock+root. I have not experienced the issues others have mentioned. Your mileage may vary though.

I just got mine and it came with 2.3.4. it doesn't think that it needs an update.
Got another one for my daughter and it also came with 2.3.4 but it immediately saw and installed the 2.3.6 update. did they pull the update?

I think they usually push it out in phases/regions. However with the battery issue it seems to have introduced it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled it.

2.3.4 upgrade

What is the verdict on the 2.3.4 upgrade?
I am seeing people having problems. My phone is important to my business, so cannot risk bricking it.
I am not rooted or unlocked, so pretty much stock.
Suggestions?

I was rooted and on 2.2 froyo. For a while. Then switched over to gingerblur, and then saw that gingerbread ota was hitting so I flashed back to stock 1.8.3 and did the ota update. Point? You'll be fine, especially if yer stock now. Oh and also, the preinstall method discussed in dev thread DOES work well with 2.3.4

If your phone is stock, i.e. no mods at all, you will be fine. The OTA is designed to upgrade only on a stock phone running 4.1.83.
Upgraded three Atrix phones to 2.3.4, went fine on all three.
On my phone, it did mess up the icons on my home screens.

Official ICS Update

Just a quick question. I have my AT&T Note running the ics leak (very poorly at that) and I cant wait for the legit update to come from AT&T. It will still get pushed to my phone even though I'm on ICS won't it? Or does My being on ICS already throw it off?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Who knows, if your running the leak of ICS why not try one of the roms out there? The Collective unofficial just released v2 beta 4 today and its rock solid.

First, try collective seraphim
Second, being stock rooted alone will break updates.. you have to go back to stock to get the update
Sent from my Note using ICS by AT&T
My phone is no longer rooted. When I put the leak on there it broke my root access. I'm not interested in putting another rom on it and trying to get my data back the way i have it. I just want to know if I will still get the update pushed to my phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
No, that is what he was saying, you can be on stock and just being rooted will fail the update, so..... Being on an unreleased firmware most assuredly will break it.

6.16.203.XT912 & 6.16.204.XT912 ICS Build Leaks for Verizon Razr

This is what was found over at droidrzr, there was another leak 6.14.79.XT912 but the one I'm talking about was last modified yesterday and it comes with the Color for Facebook app preinstalled & last but not least its ANDROID 4.0.4. Discuss away.
EDIT: This was confirmed to not be able to downgrade you, not even to gingerbread. But people were saying temple run works perfectly. Link is at the bottom but BE WARNED, NOT FASTBOOTABLE OR DOWNGRADEABLE. FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
EDIT 2: So this is a New Leak 6.16.204 found by fellow member mattlgroff. Still 4.0.4 and still not FASTBOOTABLE OR DOWNGRADEABLE.

Really looks like Verizon maybe working on a 21st release. Or at least moving forward.

This is kind of on the edge but I'm thinking this might be the OTA just because it says release keys and is packed with Color for Facebook.

wait - so this is 4.04 - has anybody at all installed this? Nobody confirmed this is not fastbootable?

Damn. I been on the last 84 leak. What's the odds of me being able to run this zip over the leak I am on, thru stock recovery, and it actually updating?

0. You need to be running .181 or it'll fail right out.

That's weak.
Does this take a RAZR off the upgrade path, and can I flash stock recovery? Voodoo protect root?

Would love to see a screenshot with 4.04 as i'm sure everyone else
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
I'm pretty sure at this point all ics leaks after 75 take you off the upgrade path. Being on 84 and not being able to go back to gingerbread is fine. But being in 84 and not being able to install this is not. If fastboot files are released then once the ota hits it looks like I will have to downgrade to 181 and accept newer version. I am really hoping one of our very talented devs can come up w a way to make it attempt to just update from 84 to this leak or an ota without the need to do all the other. Its clearly not easy due to how the process is setup to install from moto.
That's why I never jumped to ics when they leaked in the first place. Sorry to hear of your hassle

I choose it. Its my fault. Not sad as 84 runs awesome. But I assumed I could update to newer. Not concerned about going backwards. Hopefully someone can come up w something. I have it downloaded and ready to roll in case
Link is broken now apparently...
The 4.0.4 leak has been confirmed to be unfastbootable back to GB. It will strand you like the .84/.85 leaks, taking you off the update path with no way to return. The 4.0.3 leak (.79), on the other hand, is fastbootable back to GB so it's safe to play with like the .75 leak.
All of this has been confirmed by the devs @ Droidrzr.com.

Link is not broken guys. And yes, there's an update .203 blur.

Edit: I've saved the file in case anything went wrong.
Cheers

I just got the official ICS Upgrade From AT&T

I plugged my phone in and it said an update was available.
I checked for an Over The air and nothing, then I plugged it into
my PC and launched Kies, and it showed an update was available.
Ran the update and it is ICS 4.0.3
If I would have been smart I would have taken screen shots of how
I had my screens, now I have to try and remember how I had them.
Please try to keep this thread on topic
.
Give us some details and some screen shots or it didn't happen

Do you loose root and CWM after the update? Otherwise I would wait for a custom ROM that has it all and is bloat ware free.

Yes. Either that or the update will fail. It's just not a good idea to try an official update while rooted.
Hmm im wondering if mobile odin could help retain both bootloader and root

So I updated......and now where I once had full bars (my house) I now have half
signal degrade common with 4.0.3?
It worked for me. Downloaded via Kies. I'm wondering if the battery life will get better with ICS

Lucky man. Any chance they're doing this in phases so their servers don't get overloaded? That's the only reason I can think why there's so many people, including myself, not getting the update.
Don't worry fellas after the update your phones will look exactly like they do now with all the Samsung and AT&T bloat, a hint of lag and worse battery life.

root with ICS?
is there a way to root with the new update?
thanks~!

Whats the current software/ android version for stock htc thunderbolt on verizon?

I got my replacement Thudnerbolt last week cause im still in warenty with verizon.
The other one was dropping signal or hardly ever connecting to 4g in the middle of a full 4g bar area. Screen unresponsive at times and when i make calls half the time i have to hang up and redial cause the other party cant hear me like if im on mute. .
Pretty much the same story with the old thunderbolt and i know its not physical damage cause ive kept my phones in otter boxes since day one and never dropped them.
So i flashed a near stock buil of a rom but its a little older i think and have played with various roms and settings ect trying to correct it andd its defenatly the phone. As usual. Im about to call into verizon again but to be sure im hoping someone can tell me the current build software version ect info from the about phone section under settings incase they ask. I have that deodexed rooted 400mb(ish) standard rom from somewhere on it now so its as close to normal as i want it at the moment..
But if someone can help me out id appreciate it i dont want to have to unroot and use the htc AIO tool to put it completly to stock (yet)
And no im not tryin to get a rezound or whatever i happend to love my thunderbolt and the big screen I just want this one fixed or a halfway decent one that works as it should.
Thanks for your time!

I cannot figure how to update to this version of Android. I would eventually like to have root access, but am still at the part where it won't update from 2.2.1 to 2.3.4. I guess I need some advice with how to go about updating to be on GB.
