There is no option given by dell for any update on venue. so ICS for dell venue is mostly no...

Changkho1908, I see from the tinhte forum you installed the ICS ROM but it was not stable. Did you load MIUI 2.4.24 or 2.4.20? Is there a link for 2.5.11 on that site?
Is it true that the list of things not working for the ROM to you loaded is:
usb not recognized,
3G is not enabled,
no dc Keyboard entry pass to set the keypad ???

Play Market Server Error error,
gmail is FC,

hi, some bugs in that roms, base on miui 2.4.20. the author's rom has been repaired, but 3G not work, maybe we should wait

The MIUI works much better than the previous version. Still, I can not tell if it is based on CM7 or CM9. The MIUI website seems to indicate that it is CM9 based, but beats me. The build.prop shows 2.3.7 in the build description and build fingerprint. I am downloading the MIUI 2.5.25 for HTC One X, I will see what the build.prop says for that one, I am pretty sure that would be based on CM9.

After digging around the 2.5.25 file, I am convinced this is built on CM7 and not CM9. It still looks nice though, much better than stock Froyo.

i flashed cobrato's miui 2.34 rom, and im so in love with it i caanot bring myself to downgrade it.
the camera is practically not working, pls a solution
Only solution AFAIK is to wait for the official Gingerbread Update.
Then our devs have access to the required files to implement it in further customs Roms.

What makes you think that if there was a solution,
it wouldn't be already implemented in the custom ROMs?
You didn't even have to open a new thread about it,
there is a perfectly good thread about Cob's GB MIUI.

Razorblade81 is right, you will have to wait the official SE update. it's due to begin august.

It works on lower resolution with camera illusion app for camera & videocam illusion for camcorder
Also you can install a dual boot 2.1 rom to use its fully working camera & camcorder along with the gb miui rom
If you want a fully working gingerbread camera, just wait till SE released official gingerbread for x10i on august.

Supposedly, one particular dev had the bootloader unlocked.
Don't bother with words. Until something is released, it's just talk.
Best bet for the camera is to wait until SE releases GB.

& about wifi issue,
Have you tried fxp kernel , since you are basing this on FXP 52 ? Try using fxp kernel & relevent wifi modules ( system/lib/modules ) & all wifi related files in etc folder , wpa_supplicant in bin folder .

@Oodie - Thanks mate, Im going to look at this now. I have tried FreeKernel4054_Cob05 and flashed modules, but still no luck I will try and replace any wifi related files as you mentioned and I will test it, hope I can get it working
EDIT: Just flashed a new version, going to test and release if WiFi is fixed
EDIT 2: I have tried replacing all WiFi files and I still cant get it to work once I find a solution, I will start fixing the smaller bugs I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Hi mate, I will upload screens once I get WiFi working this is my main concern for now sorry. There are no visual modifications to this MIUI version yet so screens from current rom will not be a WOW unless ofcourse you havent seen miui before

thanks for letting me know mate, its an easy fix and will be available in the next update which is estimated 9hrs from now with wifi and other fixes also, only have remote access to my pc atm and still trying to fix wifi, but it should be available within 12hrs
Good starter rom, just Bluetooth and wifi issues are present. Thanks for the effort, I'm sure your next release will be near perfect.

Basicly, MIUI is based on CM so you should try to take these files from CM:
- system/etc/apns-conf.xml (if it has)
- system/etc/wifi/
- system/lib/modules/ {ar6000.ko, athwlan.bin.z77, data.patch.hw2_0.bin, wifi.ko} or easily, take all then paste into MIUI in the same folder BUT don't replace not related wifi files.
- system/lib/libwpa_client.so
Try it lol, I just develop stock based, not CM and MIUI so maybe I'm wrong

Thanks silveraero, i have tried this, still not happening :s Im getting help from Spaarc and I think i know the problem now. Once I understand this, Updates on MIUI should be easy

i am using oodie prime 7 edit. i have a2sd installed. But when i install apps, after a reboot the apps disappear. however under data/apps there is everything there.

Edit: solved. kernel related. install kernel from oodie thread problem solved. at first i was using cobrato's kernel number9.
i just had a friend install cm9 rom for his xperia x8..and was wondering if it would work on dell streak...streak wins if compared with x8s hardware right???so if i could get any help...thanxs in advance
Read around the forum there are all kinds of driver issues.
unexpectedly a working cm7 came around. just so you know. read more about it in the corresponding threads here in the forums.
There is some hope of a CM9 port. A user from the korean forum where the CM7 port originated said the following on XDA:

Hi, since it seems that Pricey doesn't update his ROM anymore, I've tried to port Official MIUI for Arc S to our Play.
I have used as base Keiran's DFR ROM, because it was deodexed.
What works:
Sound
Touchscreen
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GPS
Phone
SMS
What doesn't work:
All MIUI apps
Virtual keyboard (IME)
Orientation (Only landscape)
Data
Camera
All problems with MIUI apps are related to miui-framework, in fact I have this in logcat for all MIUI apps:

I don't know... Doesn't work Phone, touchpads are not my first problem.

Are you using MIUI PatchRom? If so, try using CM9 as a base, and use a CM9 compatible kernel This might help it because MIUI is very similar to CM in terms of code base.
If you aren't, still, base it on CM, you will see why

No, 2 reasons
1. Video recording will be broken anyway as MIUI will probably use the same hardware encoder as cyanogenmod does.
2. Touch pads aren't added to MIUI framework, so they would work like they do in CM anyway

I have already made a working gb miui check through the forums.. only things that don't work are Bluetooth and touchpads.

Yes I got it... "just" have problems with display drivers... As scritch released his 4.4.3, I will work harder to make the kernel working... hopfully 4.4.3 bugs would be solved with it...

I am still using gingerbread developed by Feralab, I really want to use ice cream or jelly bean but there is no compete rom but the version is keep on releasing I don't understand it , then why there is no 3.x kernel developed is it impossible for our phone? There's some pretty cool version of JB. The CM10 now has every thing except hardware video encoding/decoding. Everything else is working nicely.
CM10.1 and Everolv 4.2 and 4.3 have an issue with the kernel. But I can't manage to fix it. So we've been working on newer kernel, 2.6.32 but it has a camera issue. And we're trying to port a newer kernel, but it's not that easy.

I agree.. I was on the ICS version from FXP but when i recently switched back to Feravolt's GB, it was a lot more smoother and fast.. !!

I am using this phone from 2.5 years and used stock 1.6, 2.1, 2.3 and custom ROMs of Fera, Zahid5h, Scritch, Vasishta, Walker all 2.3, 4.1 and now 4.2.2 ROMs... It's been a great experience with this phone and with great ROMs by great Developers... Thanks a lot guys from all X10 users.

ROM is fast and good - only problem is with WLOD usualy when first start some apps or doing something too fast ;p

Yeah, only place when You change something with GPS options is "Location access" in "Personal"
Some other options i cant find - for example i cant change icns on status bar - wifi, sync or something else - i dont know chow too change it ;p
But ROM can be nice in the future i like it too in alpha stage its better then other in beta ;p
One more thing - is it possible to restore USB charge or something like this to kernel? Becouse i read You remowe this options from source code and from 4.X kernel we cant use other then Sony charger - i have Philips charger for 2 phones but cant use it.
