Hey
Probably a stupid question but if I hook my pa3 to the prime using the micro HDMI can I get the prime to act as the monitor or TV for the ps3?
The HDMI is meant for output not input

So I have been hooking up my Transformer to my HDTV a lot lately to watch videos and whatnot, and I usually just plug it in with a standard mini-HDMI cable.
Lately I have been wanting to use it from my recliner though.
I am contemplating just buying a really long cable but thought I would ask here first in case someone had any better ideas.
Wireless options? Dock options?
Fill me in if you have any info!!
Thanks.
no such thing. sorry. you can't really use the TF while playing a video, so why do you need to right next to you?
for dedicated appliance though, i'd recommend a roku. get the highest level one with usb input.

Buy this one http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mini-hdmi-to-hdmi-adapter-dongle-14308
It's the Mini HDMI to HDMI Adapter.
It's "Made in China" but it's cheap so it won't hurt to try.
And then if you want, you buy this: http://us.zyxel.com/products/details.aspx?PC1indexflag=PDCA20118&CategoryGroupNo=PDCA201113 - the NEW wireless HDMI transmiter-receiver
Then everything'll be PERFECT
hi, anybody here have tried that method?
Seems pricey. Once the HDMI is plugged in you won't be able to use the tablet for anything else anyway.
But once you've got everything hooked up, you dont have to get up to change the show or anything like that. You can do it from the couch itself.
I would say it depends on what kind of videos you're planning to watch.
If you mean simple video files then try dlna (example skifta), but this method can only stream compatible files.
And for youtube etc you could use hdmi adapter with wireless hdmi as recommended before, but i wouldn't because i would be afraid of damaging my port because of the weight.
Just my two cents.
greetings flogger
If you're looking to just control the transformer from the couch, have you thought of running a vnc server on the tablet and controlling it using a phone?
So I may be missing something in all my searching, but I recently bought the hdtv adapter and a when I plug it in my tv doesn't recognize the input.
I guess my real question which could be why there's no input is, is it possible to stream netflix, youtube, or anything from the browser (hbogo) to a tv?
Thank you your any help and sorry if I just was doing some bad forum and google searches.

I have the HDTV adapter too and I had the same problem. Do you have your connection set like this? SGT 10.1 -> HDTV adapter-> TV via HDMI cable?
Its not enough you HAVE to have connected cable which has on one side 30-pin connector connected to HDTV adapter and on the other side USB pluged to a PC or any other source of power. My TV has USB so I pluged it to my TV. This solution I consider to be very unsatisfying. When I bought HDTV adapter I thought its everything I need, but it isnt, it has to be connected to power also.
Yeah that's the setup I have with the 30 pin going to the wall, I really want to watch hbo go on my tv. So frustrating

Hey guys,
So I know that the keyboard dock has a usb port but the tablet itself doesnt. I'm not planning to get the dock so I was wondering if there is any kind of converter from usb to bluetooth. Like something that will connect my usb mouse or keyboard or game controller to the prime to a hub/converter that connects to my tablet via bluetooth?
Thanks for all the help =)

The sticky has a bunch of links to the product you need. When I tried to copy it all the links died on me. Just head to the sticky.
Yes, but keep in mind that the adaptor is really poor - huge and is sitting in the port very loosely.
Here is video to show that the original Transformer USB adapter works fine here too:
(Navigation for the connectivity demo: bluetooth keyboard and mouse with the browser @ 1:00, USB adapter with wireless USB keyboard and mouse combo @ 2:55, N64oid with high res textures and the Logitech USB Games Controller @ 6:48, Shadowgun THD optimised for Tegra 3 with a PS3 Controller @ 9:07, 1080p MKV playback from a 500GB portable HDD with Dice Player to the HDTV @ 13:11, accomanying blog piece http://www.androidnz.net/2012/01/asus-transformer-prime-video-playback.html):
Hello , What is the best way to stream media from the s3 to my TV (dont have dlna)
Thanks!
Hdmi? You should be able to purchase a MHL adapter, then connect a hdmi cable to the tv if you've got a hdmi compatible tv.

Buy a media player that does support DLNA...
All Share Dongle will do the job?
Depends what you want to stream if it's HD videos can the dongle provide sufficient playback compared to a wired connection?
I don't think it should be a problem my HTC media link can playback HD videos from YouTube and such from my One X. I think the dongle should be similar.

Yes,
But keep in mind a DLNA mediaplayer is not that expensive, aftermarket mobile gadgets usually are...

do remember that the S3 requires special 11-pin MHL connection. galaxy s3/note or other previous samsung MHL cable will not work with the S3. the S3 requires a 11-pin MHL cable to connect to HDTV - other MHL cables are 5-pin.
but Samsung does have a small ($10 approx.) adapter where you can plug it between the S3 and other ordinary MHL cable to make the cable work.
the Samsung Galaxy S3 MHL cable is approx $40. The MHL 11-pin adapter is approx $10.
Is there a way the stream media from PRIME to TV?
micro hdmi to hdmi

Yes, micro hdmi to hdmi ...works great. I streamed hockey games online to my tv from my prime all season long and it looked perfect!

i also use a micro hdmi cable, work great.
my only issue is the connection to the tablet. the cable deforms the connector in the tablet so that i use connection to external display as soon as i move the tablet just a little bit.
does someone else have this issue too?
The one thing about the Micro HDMI connection is that there are a few ROMs where the HDMI doesn't work right, namely, the AOSP Jelly Bean builds. I tried CM10 preview and EOS last weekend, and they both sent video, but no audio through the HDMI. The last I saw (this morning) there was still no mention of a fix on EOS' changelog.

It is also possible to stream you media over wifi, with the "MyNet" app from Asus.
Works perfectly with my Samsung smart TV
