[Q] Using wrong files for rooting - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Maybe this is stupid...
I followed the instructions for rooting my 3g tab and accidently used the 7510 files instead of the 7500 ones....
Somehow it worked just fine and got my tab rooted and working fine. Even 3g works fine with Overcome Rom and pershoot kernel.
My question is that flashing those wrong files (7510 instead of 7500) can do any harm now or afect my tab's performance...
Thanks in advance

R u sure this would fix it, they copy the efs folder but its just 80kb also there is no nv_data.bin in anywhere of that folder .
should they copy it as a tar file or can just copying the folder normally work?
if this can be fix even by remote access over team viewer , let me know who can do it and the cost...

[Q] Galaxy tab 10.1 european overclock issues..

Hi i have a rooted galaxy tab 10.1 3g p7500 bought in europe greece.
I want to ask whats the right kernel to flash for overclock. I have tryied everything in this forum and doesnt seem to be the right for my tab. In the photo i send is the characteristics of my tablet. I have 2 friends facing the same problem... Please help, Thank you in advance.

I think pershoot's kernel is the best for the tab. His kernel can be found on the developing forum. Note that his latest kernel is for ics. You need the kernel from January 9th for HC 3.2

Thanks for the responce! You mean this. boot-cm_2636.4_p4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912.zip. I have tried this man but when i flash it i get a rolling screen when the tab starts up... Maybe i do something wrong in the procedure. Any other advice?

Hello Kosta. I have exactly the same tab, bought from Greece, and had no problem flashing anything. Are you sure you have the HC kernel and not the ics one? In the screenshot I noticed that you have stock HC, so I presume that apart from the kernel and cwm the rest of the tab is stock.

Thanks panos. I have rooted the device with the 2 files in the picture below. I dont have the knowlege if i have ics or hc.but I think i have hc.
Can you explain to me what to do or what you are running in your device so i do exactly the same. If you can do it with steps i would love it. I am new and maybe i do some silly mistake.
Thanks in advance..

The kernel you said you used is the right one for our tabs. Maybe the rolling problem is from cwm. Take a look here:

I am writing this from a gtab 7500 3g bought in greece running the above referred pershoot s oc kernel Definitely works! Your problem is due to CWM version. I propose to go thru reading the relevant threads and you ll manage to oc your gtab. Worked great for me!

Try this: droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2655
It worked for me. And it is the only recovery you can use to flash ics nightlies, if you wish, without any problem.

Factory reset, total wipe, flash stock rom with odin, root, flash cwm, flash the Pershoot kernel I already told you. Everything you need to know is in the 2 threads already mentioned.
I am trying it and report back.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
ok i did all the above but when i flashed pershoot kernel mentioned i got again the rolling screen. but this time when i push power button to sleep and then again to wake all work fine. is there a way to fix this other than flashing us stock firmware as i read in a post?
By the way i oc 1400 and all goes well!!! If there is a fix i would apreciate it...
Any of you oc tabs have the same issue with lockscreen fix?

Ok, my next question is how should i backup everything since i didn't root my phone. I cant use titanium backup. Btw, did the same thing happened to you?
You need to root your phone with chain fires autoroot method and then Flash a Cwm or other recovery so you can Flash a custom kernel.I would suggest yank555 as it's a close to stock kernel that's stable and fast and lag free. You also need to be running a root kernel with the sudden death fix patch to avoid your phone dying.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 Problems

Hi, I am new here.
My GT-P7510 is rooted, overclocked (1.4 GHz) and with ICS and ClockWorkMod Recovery.
But after I installed 1.6 GHz overclock, the device never respond after it went to the logo.
I tried hard reset, and some hacks too but it never worked.
Now, I still can't enter to the Android OS. Please help me to solve this problem!
Which kernel are you using? What "hacks" did you do? Overclocking to 1.5Ghz and higher is not recommended because it may cause issues. And what do you mean by can't get into Android OS?
Your best bet is to reflash stock ICS using Odin.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
But I need Honeycomb 3.1 instead of ICS 4.0.
Also I am using A1 kernel from Galaxy Tab Hacks.
The hacks is to reset main folders.
Then just download the stock HC 3.2 ROM from http://www.sammobile.com and flash it using Odin.

Thanks!
Now, it works perfectly with P7510DXKG4 rom from Hotfile!

1) frying touchscreen occurs when flashing note 2 files. Bigger screen needs more power. Too much power for s3 so fries
2) don't use ics. Unsafe on s3 for other reasons.

why would you flash CM9?
