A friend got his galaxy note recently ,it was update from 2.3 which was rooted to android 4.0.3 then re-rooted it again at the new os . it also had the radio to work on t-mobile , it was working at the os for a bit (they r telling me that since it went to 4.0.3 it wasn't seeing the sim) , i ask them to check for the imei and they said it say unknown and the basband is the same , is there a way to fix it . also the backup that was make using clockworkrecovery, its seem they save it to the internal sd of the phone and it may have got format ..
can this been fix , also the phone does bootup and find wifi but no sim ...
thx all, any help would be highly great fully..
this is a great site , u guys r the one who help me mod my google g1 with android 2.2 at the time , and i still have it running the same one ...

R u sure this would fix it, they copy the efs folder but its just 80kb also there is no nv_data.bin in anywhere of that folder .
should they copy it as a tar file or can just copying the folder normally work?
if this can be fix even by remote access over team viewer , let me know who can do it and the cost...

Friends,I came across an official firmware update for indian galaxy ace GT-S5830I.My phone is GT-S5830.Are these two variants of ace or the same phone? Also will the rom for GT-S5830I work on my GT-S5830?Please somebody clarify?
Perhaps the I represents "Indian" ?
Anyhow if the latest firmware you're referring to is 2.3.6, I'm currently running that on my S5830 and it works fine.
can anyone tell the diffrence
The 'I' refers to an upgraded model. Maybe, the new hugo ace edition or galaxy ace plus. Our phone model is GT-S5830
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
No, the ROM from GT-S5830I will not work on our ace if the S5830I refers to Galaxy Ace Plus

It's not the Plus , the Plus will have a different code number and NOT GT-S5830

You can upgrade to 2.3.6 without caring about your baseband version if your phone isn't operator specific.

guys i have checked it galaxy ace plus mode number is diffrent
i downloaded the firmware 2.3.6 from samfirmware but when i select the tar file in odin the odin application close . so i think there is some problem with the tar file if anyone has the correct source file with them please post ... waiting .
and important thing there is no such model like s5830i on samsung website or gsmarena sites ... i think its fake firmware as even odin does not accept it...
can download and check yourself will know what i mean to say...

yes there is s5830i in INDIA
i have recently verify with samsung in ahmedabad that there is update of 2.3.6. for the MODEL NO S5830i ..... but not for s5830....
there are two different model and there are different chipsets ....
there is no update for s5830 of 2.3.5. or later .....
Just find that what's yr phone model no is ?
Go to setting-about phone see yr model no.....
Whether it is s5830 or s5830i ???
Now this two model are different.
So stock ROM of s5830i will not work on s5830.
Odin will be crashed when you try to install s5830i on s5830...
So use only those ROMa which are for s5830 any???
I am using Singapore's ROM works perfectly . And it's official .
you can upgrade any updates through kies if any available....

here i m asking for which rom is stable and bug free for s2
willing to flash it selected some though like
Resurrection Remix ROM UPDATED Version 2.6.1 ICS 4.0.4
is this rom stable becoz in comments i read this
love the video but sadly as all the aokp Roms has serious Sd card issues and RR is not the exception. For example if you download a song bummm if you have 1000 song the files will show 3000 or 2000 so is an anoying bug that you will not see in any 4.03 ROM
so just wana safely install a rom kindly guide and what i need to do for installin this roms to my i9100t
Just try it out. It's not like it's going to brick your device if you try it. And you can answer all your own questions..

No AOSP rom for this device will ever be bug-free. So you have to live with that, or else use a samsung-based custom ROM.

Roms meant for GT I9100 will work perfect for your phone.
I have friends using GT I9100T, with perfect experience with Aosp based Roms. The only thing is, you might just have to flash a modem for your region. That's all.
If you are facing issues with Resurrection remix, then flash another ROM.
But if you are expecting anyone to recommend the best ROM for your phone, this thread will be closed soon.

Flashing modem is very easy,
-Boot to CWM recovery,
-Flash zip from SD, then select the modem you download
-Reboot phone

Lol you don't need to be rooted inorder to flash a stock ROM
1. Yes you can flash a JB firmware directly
Go to here and find your fitting firmware. You can check by going to setting>about phone
Do you know how to flash this stock rom with Odin?
*edit - you will be unrooted when you flash stock JB rom so you will have to root it again using any JB-rooting method
