A friend got his galaxy note recently ,it was update from 2.3 which was rooted to android 4.0.3 then re-rooted it again at the new os . it also had the radio to work on t-mobile , it was working at the os for a bit (they r telling me that since it went to 4.0.3 it wasn't seeing the sim) , i ask them to check for the imei and they said it say unknown and the basband is the same , is there a way to fix it . also the backup that was make using clockworkrecovery, its seem they save it to the internal sd of the phone and it may have got format ..
can this been fix , also the phone does bootup and find wifi but no sim ...

R u sure this would fix it, they copy the efs folder but its just 80kb also there is no nv_data.bin in anywhere of that folder .
should they copy it as a tar file or can just copying the folder normally work?
if this can be fix even by remote access over team viewer , let me know who can do it and the cost...

By the "telus variant", do you happen to mean the SGH-T989D? (check the label under your battery for model number)
If the device model is indeed the SGH-T989D, you should to to that device forum, which is located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1329.
This post is currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, which is a different phone than the SGH-T989D.
Man just do a factory reset... Wipe data and you should be good to go
Gday,
Basically I've been reading through countless threads throughout the site involving flashing my Samsung Galaxy S2, I've came up with a very rough idea on how I'm going to do this and I am very sure I've got it under control but I've made this thread just to make sure I'm not going to ''brick'' me phone and and because I'm a noob.........
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2
Model Number: GT-19100T
Baseband Version: 19100TDULP4
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-19100TDULPB-CL710191
Build Number: IML7.DULPB
I do live in Australia and my Galaxy S2 was locked to the Carrier VODAPHONE but its been unlocked and now uses a TELSTRA sim....
Now my question I believe my phone is all stock and Ive chose the custom firmware I'm interested in using
[ROM][JB:CM10:HYBRD] PARANOIDANDROID [2.13,True HybridMode, Size&UI on PerAppBasis]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
So for me to be able instal this firmware i need to root my phone ? to put a custom kernel on it?
Ive searched through the forums and haven't really worked out what kernel I need?
Is this what i need to use to install the firmware I chose ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&page=617
Hhahaha
I know how to go bout instal the firmware its just the making the phone to let me is the problem????
Any help would be great!!!
And suggestions, i did think that maybe my model could not instal that firmware?

went Voda 2.3.3 to Telstra ICS using Checkfus to get .tar/.md5. Got sick of that, rooted with CWM. Then went NeatRom which has Siyah kernel. Crap data speeds, so pulled out modem from Telstra ICS rom (modem.bin), put that in which fixed data speeds... chucked CRT-off mod on for the hell of it.
1. You need to root your device first.
2. Then flash a custom kernel
3. Backup your present ROM
4. Download ParanoidAndroid and Gapps
5. Backup your important data
6. Flash ParanoidAndroid.
Done.
If you have any questions, let me know

the things you should always care about when downloading and flashing are:
1. Your phone model NO. Is it compatible with my phone? This is a very important question. Stuffs meant for GT I9100 are compatible with your phone whereas stuffs meant for GT I9100G are not compatible.
2. Your Android version
3. The base of your firmware or custom ROM. Unmodified firmwares are based on Samsung. Stock based custom ROMs are also based on Samsung. CYANOGENMOD, AOKP Miui are based on AOSP
4. Your Kernel. Most custom kernels are dependent on your Android version or the base of your firmware or custom ROM

As Jokesy said, just make sure you flash a ROM made for the i9100(T,M,P) and NOT the i9100G. It will kill your phone.
Also, if you flash a 4.0.4 ROM, make sure it has a custom kernel such as Siyah kernel. This removes the MMC_CAP_ERASE brick bug that so many have been hit by. It's associated with stock 4.0.4 Samsung ROM's, it just kills your phone when you wipe data/factory reset in stock CWM. Just a note for future flashing.
Sorry for the noob questions but IM just clearing stuff up before I go ahead with the flash.
Because model number is extremely important does it matter that my phone is GT 19100"T"

No mate, the i9100T/M/P are all linked with the international i9100. The i9100G has different hardware meaning the ROM's made for it won't work on the international i9100 and i1900M/P/T and vice versa. Good luck.
Yep all good so my Android version is 4.0.3 I just checked, I should be good to go I'll report back once I've finished thank you fellas ! IM not sure what that killa posted was talking about but IM just going to follow through with what you have said and hope it works

Modems deal with network signal, mobile internet and GPRS. Rarely need to change them unless you experience poor reception on your phone. Here is a link to a thread with a whole load of modems if you wish to have a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
Modems do not have to match your kernel version, modems will work on GB, ICS and JB. They don't have to match the firmware on your phone, just in case you were wondering. Any other questions, don't hesitate posting here and I'll do my best to answer them.
oh awesome mate I really do appreciate the help as like I said I'm just confirming in me head before I give ths green light, ha there any particular way I need root my model of phone seems there's a few different ways ? thanks once again

Just had a quick search and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227762
The third or fourth post says you can use i9100 methods to root the i9100T. However, it will change the product code to i9100 (don't think this is a problem, just more of would it annoy you)?
You can use CF-Root which is very easy to use. Please dial *#1234# and post your results.
Nah doesn't worry me at all, is this.what your after

I just recently received the Galaxy S3 from Verizon. It was a replacement phone for my Droid Bionic that was water damaged. (my fault)
I want to root it and install CM 10.2 or whatever the most stable version is.
I'm having some trouble with what model I have. In system settings it says my model is SCH-I535.
Is my phone a I9300 or a I9305?
Which root tool and recovery works on my phone?
You phone is a SCH - I353, if I am not wrong is the Verizon version of the i9300. you should visit the Verizon forum for your device her on xda.

The hardware inside your phone is very different to the i9300 and any of our firmware, kernels or mods will probably brick your phone.

Hello I own a Samsung galaxy SIII GT i9300 running nightly build PAC man ROM 4.4.4. I deleted my stock backup on cwm thinking that I wouldn't need it but I'm getting a upgrade to the LTE version (GT i9305) now and I can't find out which model I am for stock firmware to sell this on, it doesn't say in settings and dialer doesn't work, and I need stock to sell this on. Is there a working ROM on all international's? I'm a noob at this so sorry if this is already answered or its a stupid question
EDIT:I know how to go to stock but don't know which firmware is right. also build number in settings says PAC man ROM nightly then numbers..
Thanks in advance!
