I received my nook tablet last sunday, and I root it successfully. Yesterday I want to reroot it, and it broke down.
Here is my operation: firstly, I used power button+N to get back to the Factory Default, but it seems doesn't work. Then, I tried power off and power on eight times, and I saw the recover page in a flash then the screen become a big exclamation mark on it and says, please restart you device...
And my nt is dead!
Every time I start my nt, I only see this big exclamation mark. After that it power off automaticly.
I think maybe I delete the root file. Can anyone give me some suggestion, please...
Did you try the recover from sd card?

Hello @zhangqithu i have read about that exclamation mark and it is not good news, but lets try to bring it to life. First do you know what adb is, have you read about it? when you plug your device to your pc it is recognized? . Please give more information to what you can access or not. Second you say you already tried the restore option and you say doesnt help, give more detailed information too.

Thank U very much for reply. I don't know adb. When plug the nt to my pc, it can't be recognized, this is because the device can't work. I have used the 8 time restore method to restore my device, and I saw the restore process start, but then it terminated and the screen shows : please restart you device, if the erro continue, please contact our customer service. Then the device power off.
Evertime, I power on my device, the screen display that and power off.

I see so it power off it doesn't stay in the exclamation mark, uhmm that does not help much. I really think you should do the same as the woman did in the other thread, at list B&N gave her a retailed nook and kept the bricked one, later on when Adam come up with an official unbrick mod or something you can hopefully bring it to life again (Have faith, Adam is well known for unbrick hacks).

I know there is threads about this, but I am having troubles, I will be willing to donate $20 to anyone who can help me. I am hoping it will be relatively easy............. I shouldn't have said that.
I loaded a bad framework-res.apk on my phone, and now it won't boot.
I have read DG's thread on recovering from the brick, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
In order to get the framework loaded I used root explorer to copy it over, because I couldn't get ADB to push the file. (I know, if I couldn't get ADB to work why would I muck with it....)
Now the first step in his guide is to boot into fastboot and wait for adb to work, then use superoneclick and hit 'shell root'
well, I can load into fastboot, but adb consistently says "error: device not found" or it doesn't list anything when I check devices. The troubles I was having before with adb were with pushing files, I could still see the device and pull files.
When I did the superoneclick step it ended up freezing the program, and I am not sure what is supposed to happen with fastboot but all it said was starting fastboot protocol support then did nothing.
I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this problem, I do have a backup framework on my computer and on the external sd card in the phone.
One thing I should note is that I did originally boot into the recovery mode, but all i did from there was reboot the phone (and go into fastboot mode).
Please help me! I have learned my lesson.

Do you have USB debugging enabled?
If you do, its possible to use adb by selecting Early USB Enumeration from boot menu. If not, you'll need to reflash using an SBF.
Come to my gtalk id texasdude11 and I'll help you out on chat.

from what i gather, it turns on, but won't fully boot into android.
by that token, early USB enumeration will allow ADB to work on the phone usually, but in this case i believe debugging was turned off before his device was bricked. so, he can't boot into full android UI, and also can't use ADB to push the restore files because debugging is off.
i've seen this problem with one person before, but i couldn't find a way to force debugging on without going into the UI, if someone can chime in with a way to turn debugging on without initial ADB access, or UI then this problem is solved and more than one person is helped.
Although - he can just reflash if he's on AT&T, if he's on Bell then he's SOL

Sorry, I obviously suck at giving info.
The phone boots but not past the moto screen, I get the flashing red lights and it reboots. I can get into recovery and fastboot (though I suspect fast boot isn't work right since it freezes almost instantly), I also cant see the device in adb while trying fast boot (or anything else for that matter). I could before it bricked.

NO IDEA.
Kenneth made me a script that did it all for me all I did was hit the space bar a few times.
Basically the problem seemed to be on this side of the keyboard.....
Moved to Q&A
Please post this script so that we may use this in the future
yes, please post the script toughbax or kenneth so that all can benefit from it, i already bricked and returned one atrix and cant afford to brick another. thanks in advance toughbax and kenneth

The problem is that the script that ken wrote for the OP only restores the framework-res.apk file, and nothing else. If you really need this to recover from soft brick in the first place I'm not sure if you have the ability to edit it the way that is required.

Freaking beautiful. Early USB enumeration was just what I needed to fix my f*ck up.
I rooted and then flashed the Bonsai ROM(v0.1.5) with the Kernal (v2.6.36.4) Monday. I played around with the tab for about 5 hours, went to sleep, woke up, noticed that the battery was low so I decided to put it on the charger. And as soon as I plugged it in the charger, my tab froze and the screen turned off! What happened? This tab has been on the charger for about 28 hours now and it still will not come back on! What's wrong? I've tried every combination known to man (I think) trying to power this thing back on... and nothing happens. Am I bricked or is this the sleep of death? I have search threads for hours trying to find a solution and I can't find anything.
Any help from anyone with getting this thing back on
will be rewarded with a couple of beers, soda, sandwiches or whatever
floats your boat. I don't want to have to send it in to Samsung. Only GOD knows how long it will take for them to send it back.
I'm in the exact same situation, buttons are all not responding :/
Do you think it is the SOD (sleep on death) issue? several posts have been talking about it.
Please use the new Galaxy Q&A Forum for Questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I'll take it if you don't want it bc its dead

Try booting into recovery (Vol down + power).
Also try charging again with a different outlet/cable. It still sounds like it's dead.

When asking for help on forums, never say you have tried "everything".
Specifically list what you have tried, because you may not have tried "everything".
If you truly have tried everything, your tab is dead, why did you bother posting here? If anyone can help you, then you clearly have NOT tried everything.

Your computer detects your tab right, hence tab not dead! Trying Apx mode with the combo shall work, it wouldn't display anything on the tab but will be recognized as apx device, manually direct to the nvflash folder for driver installation! Please spare some moment and read the second post of first link.

How do you know that you didn't miss a thread or a post buried within a thread?
If you want help, list each button combo you have tried. As I have said before, there are two possibilities:
1) You have truly tried everything, your tab is dead, why did you post here? If you really, truly have tried everything you have no hope.
2) You missed something in your research, haven't actually tried everything despite thinking you have, and someone might be able to help you if you specifically list everything you have tried in detail and the results of each try.

I was using ShishirRom (ICS) since a week. Today I was trying to flash CM9-Stable-Version in the morning. And 2 major problems occurred.
1. While I was transferring the CM-9-Stable-Version file to my phone, I was checking out the ROM Manager (I know you hate me already!!) and I pressed the Backup Current ROM Button instead of the back button on my phone. (**** Im stupid ) But wait there is more!
2. While I was finally able to get into Download Mode after 30 minutes of fiddling and was trying to flash via Odin to return to Stock and start all over again, my dear a$$hole friend pulled the plug while the Odin was in progress. (Yes, I am having one of those worst days)
Current situation: Phone does not boot-up - means NO ODIN RECOGNITION / NOT RECOGNIZED BY LAPTOP / NO DOWNLOAD-MODE / NO RECOVERY-MODE / NO CWM.
I have been googling about ADB and how to use it, but honestly I have not found on a How-to. I have read that ADB can reboot the phone into Download Mode or Recovery Mode, but I don't know how to use it. I don't know how to use ADB does not mean I didn't google it. I just couldn't find a guide to use it in my situation. If you can, please send me a link

alright first things first are you able to get into recovery or anything?
I can still get into the tablet through the usb. I even have a flash copy or back up of the system .img. I used a sdcard program to copy system files. I will look ups its name.
As for USB I can use a program called rockchip flasher and another one I again will look up. To upload the .IMG on to it. But other then that the screen stays black and nothing works. I asked icraigs company for help on downliads

I need a copy of someone with the same tablet ,img and cmw. Check to see if it is the same please and it will help me out a lot. Thank you
So I am dealing with iCraig and trying to get a replacement tablet. If I do I am going to try again. But I am going to post how to root it and img file need to do and then build my own ROM to go along with it. As soon as I learn to do that as well. LOL
Thank you to anyone that has stopped by and tried to help me out. Keep fingers cross.
Still looking for any help I can get.
The easiest way to root: find the update.zip for your device online. Download it and place it into the root of your phone, shut down your phone and reboot into recovery mode (volume up+home+power) then navigate with you volume buttons to apply update from sdcard (select with home). Select update.zip and wait, then reboot and BOOOM your rooted
If this helped you please dont hestitate to leave a thanks

New Info Added
So after countless hours of time and work. I have this info and stuff to share. First off I never got it rooted or fix. What I do have is the .IMG for what I should have in my tablet. But the problem is the .IMG is made for a item I have never seen. Here are links to both my tablet and to the to the firmware I want try to install on my tablet:
http://www.craigelectronics.com/site/pdetails.php?id=420 ---- The Item drivers I want to install
http://www.craigelectronics.com/site/pdetails.php?id=574 ---- My tablet
???What I would like to do change this firmware to run on mine if possible???
???How do I install it if the device won't even turn on???
The device can connect to PC as RKusb or RK292x, so I need to ether install it direct from computer or figure how to get it on. It has only three buttons on it power, vol. up and vol. down and a reset hole on the back. It does come with a keyboard but unsure if it works on tablet as it is.
Will Sell Tablet the 1st of August as bricked, 30 bucks as is

hey guys new to this place, not that new, i've always search this forum for some rom or how to fix stuff and other help but never post anything here.
so lets get straight to the point. so basically i want to revive my old samsung galaxy tab 10.1. you know, for fun and nostalgia haha (if possible). so i don't really remember what i did to this tablet that it becomes like what it is today. cannot be turned on, no display when charging, no nothing. i do remember rooting it before. when it charge, there is a little warm going on on the tablet but nothing happen. when i connect it to my pc, it recognize it as unknown device the first time, and then i hold the power button for couple of second and my pc recognize it again but now as apx but no driver available. so i made a little research just now and i found that the tablet may have a chance to be fix with the use of nvflash or something. so all im saying is it really my tab can be fix without spending money? if can how do i do it? i have a little experience about flashing rom and recovery. but nothing on how to use nvflash. i do really appreciate your help to bring me back this tab that meant so much for me and my family back in the days.

Ok! you connect it with power supply for a night.... i hope you can to recharge it if you don't see the battery icon...otherwise you try with a usb cable cut directly on battery's connector and recharge it...you've to remove back cover. Update us, bye!
