What the title says . I tried google, searching within the forums, but some had their withdraws and were for froyo 2.2. Just wondering how you themers within this thread doing this, I'd hope to bring some goodies here one day
Flash Scrosler's OTA rom. Other than flashing, you can't really do much.
Thanks!

You can always set up the "android kitchen" and deodex the ROM yourself.
I am no DEV, but I did the same for my INC2 ROM

hey all, just rooted and flashed my first rom, the bionix. I was wondering, when i had my g1 a long time ago and rooted it, i remember a page with all the roms and the attributes of the roms listed. soooo i was wondering if there was a page like that anywhere? also what are the best, fastest roms out there? i know when i was a rooted g1 the cyanogen roms were great...are they still good? sorry, i've been out of the game for a while but i'll catch back up soon with some help from you guys. thanks.
Best place to look is the sticky in the Dev forum

Hey XDA,
I have been a lurker for a while now and absolutely LOVE this place. I originally found it because the NOOK was my first android device and that forum was more than helpful. Recently I bought a Thunderbolt and decided I needed to root for various reasons including Netflix, Roms, etc...
After following the root instructions found here and the video from nat3mil on youtube, I was at a place i was ok with, a Rooted TBolt that I could start personalizing. The root went and i tried to download Das BAMF from Rom Manager, keys getting an error to contact Das BAMF team and decided to instead see what else was on the ROM Manager listing, eventually coming across the google apps upgrade at the bottom of the list.....
After installing that, i now have no market, no gmail, no talk and am not sure what to do other than restore to stock and reroot. Does anyone have any adive / help that could provide? Thank you very much for your time reading this.
You don't want to download the ROM from ROM Manager. I highly suggest downloading the ROM from the OP (original post) in the bamf thread.
Oh and before you start getting pelted with rocks you probably want to ask any questions from now on in the Q&A or the General forum. Those forums pretty much exist to answer your Q's. Just a heads up.
I would say reflash your ROM. The google apps you find in ROM manager are for ROMs that don't initially come with them.
Also, don't flash through ROM manager, very bad idea.
Before you get slammed this does not belong in the development forum. Q&A forum is the correct place.
Ok back to your question. Google apps in Rom manager are listed for ASOP roms like CM Android 2.3 not the stock rooted froyo Rom on the Thunderbolt.
Download your Rom from this forum list only to be safe that what your getting is what you want. Thunderbolt development has a nice selection of roms by many developers that give you a chance to review before flashing a Rom.
So pick a Rom to download from XDA and flash from recovery. That will be the easiest way to be your Thunderbolt back to working order.

With regard to the google apps, those are not for sense roms. Essentially, they're there for CM7 since the gapps don't come prepackaged. In short, don't flash them for BAMF.
./adb signature
Flashed Das BAMF 1.7 and its all fixed, sorry for the nub thread and question. Still a learning experience for me regarding Android and the Forum. Thank you all.
Hello, i want to create my own custom rom for the Samsung Galaxy S II.
I searched everywhere on XDA but i cannot find any guide or ressources i can understand. If someone have a topic, a link, or whatever it would be very appreciated.
The must would be a ROM on Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't want to realize something big, i just want to begin to theming defaults applications and perhaps i would continue learning "how to" in the future.
I already have Android SDK installed on my computer.
Thanks a lot! And sorry if there is already a topic like this, i'm a french guy and i'm a rookie on custom ROM, i just know how to root a device, install clockworkmod and install a custom ROM, but i'm not a rookie about programmation and computing.
THANKS!
I would also be very interested in this.
But from what Ive seen, building custom roms is not that easy at all, unless you at the very least have a good amount of linux experience, and other programming.
if not tho, then I'd love to give it a go....even if it was just to grab my fav rom, and change a few things. Is that easy?

As ICS is a buggy unreleased test rom with no release date from Samsung you are in my view throwing yourself in at the deep end .
Possible one place to look is the XDA forum .

Thanks a lot for yours answers guys!
I know is not to be easy to create a custom ROM. But i have to begin to learn how to
I searched on the Android category on the forum and i saw this. It's very interesting. But i downloaded all the SDK, and the APKtool/Manager and i have a problem. I took a ROM named Pure ICS v3 for testing if it work, and when i choose "Extract APK" with the batch file, the xml in all of the APKs is buggy, and i can't modify a buggy xml...
What i can do?
I have another question. For the moment, i'm just testing with a ROM made by a guy. But doing this is concidered stoling people's work. Where i can find a stock ICS rom for the Galaxy S II?
Thanks a lot!
ICS is not released so their are no stock roms .
The leaked Beta /Alpha test roms are in the General section as individual posts per rom .

Thanks a lot!
Forgive my noobness. but seems im having trouble finding a central location to locate roms.
i have already rooted my evo 3d. however it was some time ago and does not allow for updates. I'v gotten my data in order and would like to flash with a new rom to get all the updates and new os version that iv been missing out on. to my recollection i can DL the rom to my card, then boot to load that rom, but i was hoping someone can point me in the direction on the forum where i can start looking at new roms. and maybe even a rom that will allow me to update if its possible. thinking of going without sense.
thanks for the advice.
All the roms are in the Development sub-forum.

Hello there,
I am new to the S2 phone (I will get one at the end of the month from a friend).
I see that there are lots of roms and kernels.
Now what I am searching for is:
Super optimized rom like Tigrouzens rom for Samsung Wave 1 and 2.
Also kernel super optimized.
With other words. a really fast rom (I don't want outdated roms).
Preffered android version:
4.3.X Jelly Bean / 4.4 Kitkat
Also, I don't really know how to install those roms/kernels. So a simple tutorial should do it. Because I once flashed one through odin from pc and not through recovery.
Greetings,
GreekBlood
Go to the development sections (Android Development & Original Android Development), read some threads, try out some roms to find one that suits your needs. Instructions for flashing roms are always on the first page devoted to the rom & always very clear.
Rom recommendations are forbidden here because they're so subjective, mods will close the thread if you insist on asking for them (this is XDA after all, if you're here, it's assumed you like flashing stuff to your phone).

And the best ROM is................................................................. LOL
I predict thread soon to be closed (i am psychic haha)
Oh, sorry.
But it is a bit of a mess here. So many roms, so many kernels.
I'm coming from wave 1 where we have 2 roms and 2 kernels.
Being a newbie, i being in you shoes a few days ago would advice you to start with understanding the fundamentals og flashing and use of the various recoveries out there. You say its a mess because you see so many roms and kernels and you dont know where to begin. Pick one and start and with time you will catch up with the rest. Good luck...modding and customizing android is like a rabbit whole...no end...

Reading the first page & last 10 pages of any rom/kernel thread will give you a couple of things:-
*Instructions how to flash & features
*Some idea of how users are finding the most recent build/any issues
That's a good place to start.
Some people treat this place like a macdonalds drive-thru.
