[Q] Installing android on sd card - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there.
I have a question regarding installation of android on SD card.
I bought this low end tablet to play with but it only has android 1.6 installed.
Via some guides and such i found out that the os is stored on a sd card inside the tablet.
Is it possible to just burn another image of android (for example 2.2) to the sd card and boot the device?
The device also have an external sd card slot.
Is there any android images that is available for download?

Can android be installed w/o SD card on at&t tilt (8925)
I was wondering if there is a installation method to allow android installation without using the SD card at all. Is it possible.
Sorry, I tried searching but couldn't find the answer and the threads I noticed are all talking copying .tar or .tgz files to SD card.
Is there a possibility of doing installation w/o using SD card at all just like customruu or romupdateutility?

Is your memory card a legit retail bought card? Reason I ask is because some eBay/Chinese memory cards are counterfeit, and they do not hold the purported memory. It may say 32GB, but once you try copying 32GB of data over, the card's data is corrupted.

[Q] PC Connection/SDcard

Hello all,
I am new here to the forums. I recently (yesterday) purchased a Nook Tablet. I installed CM10 as per this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877217
Things went flawlessly. Well... Almost.
After flashing the ROM, I attempted to connect the Nook to my PC to transfer some music. However, My PC didn't recognize the nook at all. The Nook went in to charge only mode. I am unable to communicate with my PC in any way.
Additionally, I seem to only have 2GB of space to work with from my generic internal storage (I got the 8GB version). In the storage menu it sees that in addition to the 4gb of internal data (with 2gb available) I have an internal SD card with 4 GB of data. However, when I try to move apps to the SD card, or even access the sd card with apps such as Androzip or ES File Explorer, it says there is no space on the SD card or that it is empty. Additionally, other apps that I have installed tell me that the SD card is not mounted. When in fact it is according to the storage menu in the settings.
I am unsure if I am the only one experiencing this issue. I tried to post in the thread linked above, but being that I am new to XDA, I was not allowed to. Also, I did indeed search for the past hour and a half for a solution, but without luck (obviously). Thanks in advance for any help. Also, being new I do apologize if I have placed this query in the wrong place.
****UPDATE*****
I was finally able to fix the issue with the connection to the PC!!
I can also access the sd card from my explorer on the PC, and through the Tablet. However, the Tablet reads the internal sdcard as sdcard0. But it doesn't recognize this as an sd card, but as a folder. There is still an "sdcard" in the parent directory, but it will not let me access it as it says it is missing or not mounted. It is like it is reading the internal sd card, but not as an internal sdcard.
Welcome to the forum. I have moved this thread to Q&A. Where there is a Q&A section (as this device has) please post any questions there.
When you reach 10 posts you will get access to post in the development section and this post has some useful reading for reaching 10 posts productively.

Android M SD as internal. Some questions related to it

Hi there guys.
I have Spice Dream Uno (Android one device) running Android M. I have some queries related to using SD card as internal storage.
I have Samsung EVO+ 32 GB card.
Now here's my question.
If i use sd card as internal then it says it would work only in this device one.
Now after i did it i used sd card adapter to transfer my files, but it didn't worked it asked me format my sd card.
So at this point i think its the best to have secure storage.
I only transfer files via usb cable(No problem at this).
Now,
1) If i do factory reset will this card still work on my device or do i have to format it by loosing all data ?
2) If i flash custom ROM MM based will the card and files still remain the same ?
This would be interesting for me, too.
